Are You Still Stiching Christmas?

The countdown is on, and Christmas is almost here. Are you still stitching Christmas? Though I do not feel like I accomplished much this week, I have still been busy stitching on Christmas projects. Some I hope to enjoy for a few days; others will be completed in 2021 if not by the end of this year.

My dear friend, Robin, sent me  the cutest little freebie stitch which she had found on iStitch Designs blog in the November 29, 2020 post . It is called "Joyeux Noel " .

Click here if you would like to stitch this piece. It was super quick and very relaxing . I used the flosses I had on hand  which were DMC 498, 986 and 782. If you look carefully, you probably can see I did make a mistake, but I left it. I made some of the baubles a little too big on the bottom vine.  I think I am going to make this into a little pin pillow for my dough bowl. It is such a precious stitch.

I also finished a  Twin Peak Primitives Christmas freebie this week . It is called "Cows Can Fly Too" which  can be found at the Twin Peak Primitive 's website This was a perfect stitch to go along with my Barnyard Christmas ornaments that I completed this year. The ladies at Twin Peak Primitives also released another freebie called Happy New Year. I can not wait to stitch it.

I have been  plugging along on the Pine Needles SAL .  Here is this week's progress.

This is another design that I have enjoyed seeing so many stitcher's working on. I am in love with Linda's piece @lovetostitch. Her floss colors look so amazing on her fabric. I copied Linda on making a few snowflakes in my snow globe.  Great idea, Linda.

Did you participate in Brenda Gervais's "Merry & Minty" SAL last week? I kept up all the way until Saturday,  and then I picked it back up Monday night to add the string of popcorn and cranberries. It was so much fun not only to stitch but to see the floss choice and the finishing of other stitchers on Instagram.

On Friday, I spent the morning FFOing "Merry & Minty".

I chose a brighter palette for my stitch.  On Tuesday , I found a metal wall plaque at the Goodwill which was perfect for this piece. Bits of ribbon finished it up.  Here it is with WTNT's "Basketful of Winter Time" that I completed last year.

I began a new little stitch of my own design. It will be a winter piece. Here is a sneak peak. The evergreen tree is all stitched up with a blanket of snow.

Finally, I worked on this teeny tiny stitch. If you have 15 minutes, you will have this stitched up in a jiffy. This is "Prim Winter" and measuring just 27 W x 15 H you can see why it whips up so quickly.

Prim Winter

I stitched it on my go to fabric -14 count aida. Love my aida! If you would like to stitch it , just click on the pdf below and choose a white and your favorite floss. I used DMC#934 Black Avocado Green and Blanc.
I finished it on  a little wooden tag. You can find a packet of these unfinished tags  at the Dollar General for about a $1.00.  I painted mine chocolate brown and added a little tan.
Click here for Prim Winter chart.

Speaking of tags, I found some of the cutest printable prim tags for free  on the website PrimMart  . I copied three on some cardstock and plan on printing more. They have a tag or two for every season.

Last Saturday, the grandkids and nephews worked on their snow globes. They did a fabulous job and really got into the details.  I had showed the supplies last week which I had got at the Dollar Tree. One bag of the little styrofoam snow was sufficient for 6 snow globes.  I think next year I need to make one too. Lol   This is my oldest grandson's.

This weekend the kiddos will be making gingerbread houses. Yum Yum.

Well thank you so much for stopping in for a visit. Have a lovely weekend filled with stitching and lots of fun . As always...

Happy stitching, ya'll

Melisa
