"Far up in the deep blue sky,
Great white clouds are floating by;
All the world is dressed in green;
Many happy birds are seen,
Roses bright and sunshine clear
Show that lovely June is here. "
- F. G. Sanders
Happy June, Sweet Peas!
Should I start the official countdown? Hee! Hee!
Okay here goes!
207 days until Christmas
179 days until Thanksgiving
153 days until Halloween
33 days until July 4th
and
20 days until Summer!
As fast as the year is going, those days will be here in no time. Slow down 2026! Don't you agree?
Yesterday , Mr. Pinker went to visit his family . So I indulged in a quiet evening of stitching, and by golly, I got a lot completed. 😁
One of the stitches that I worked on was the Bunny Harvest Roundabout , a freebie doodle that I shared earlier.
I stitched this little bunny using 2 strands of floss using the back stitch and lazy daisies for the carrots' leaves.
Last Tuesday, dear Di at Quilting is Blissful Blogspot, shared her beautiful Polka Dot Girls embroidery and her Bunny Harvest Roundabout . Oh, I do invite you to hop over and visit, Di. You will be gobsmacked by all of the wonderful projects she works on. Her Bunny Harvest is adorbs, and I love the floss colors she used for the scalloped border- it is pure cuteness!
Since I finished the embroidery work on Bunny Harvest, I pulled out some fabrics to play with. I have an idea for my roundabouts which I will share in the next few days .

Speaking of Roundabouts. May I introduce "Sweet Melody", June's Roundabout embroidery?
"Green was the silence, wet was the light, the month of June trembled like a butterfly." - Pablo Neruda
Tiny Butterfly House is my latest addition to the "Tiny House Series" . A quaint little rustic, dark purple cabin on stilts with a little side porch. Butterflies flutter all around. I think I could sit on the stoop outside the doorway and watch the butterflies at this little old house. Could you?
Actually, the house colors are not purple at all , but for some reason my "tricky" eyes see them that way. I used DMC floss colors 451 ( Very Dark Shell Gray) and DMC 3860 ( Cocoa) for the house siding.
As always, I just used what floss colors I had on hand and at the moment I was stitching "Tiny Butterfly House" I wanted a purple house and I was determined to stitch from my stash. I may stitch it again sometime in brighter colors.
If you were to look into my fabric or floss stash, one color you would see that I am lacking in is the color purple. I am not sure why I do not have many purple fabrics and flosses because I do think it is a pretty color. 💜💜💜💜💜
Stitching Tiny Butterfly House made me realize that I do need to add purple flosses to my stash in the near future. 💜💜💜💜💜
Tiny Butterfly House is stitched on 14 count tea/ coffee dyed Aida that I "baked " on low in the oven. Can you tell the fabric got a bit toasty? But that is ok. I like it anyway. Plus I am not going to waste even the teeniest of cloth. Hee! Hee!

Well , Sweet friends I will let you go. I have a Summer Stamp stitch to work on. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. Huh?
Fingers crossed that the electricity will not go off like it did last week , so I can get the next stamp posted on time. It is still raining here.
How about in your neck of the woods?
As Always...
Happy Stitching and Quilting,
y'all

DeleteSweet stuff, as usual. You are amazing and talented sweet friend. I was excited to see the Butterfly tiny house for June. I've been keeping up and enjoying them very much. This year is definitely flying by - can't believe we're headed into June. Just crazy. Happy Monday with lots of hugs, DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy June , dear Darlene. This year is flying by isn't it? Oh, I am so glad you like the new tiny house. I went out of my comfort zone with the colors but I am happy I did. It is good to try something different every now and then. I hope you enjoy stitching this one. Big hugs from the holler.

DeleteLove the adorable June tiny butterfly house 💜 Thanks. Cute doodles. Have a great Monday. K from NY
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, K. I am really enjoying stitching the tiny houses. I hope to work on the next one tomorrow. I hope you had a lovely 1st day of June. Hugs.
DeleteLove the purple house! It's nice to have an evening to yourself to indulge in whatever you want too. Enjoy your new project.
ReplyDeleteOh it was, Kate. I got a lot accomplished and even got to enjoy some time at the sewing machine which was bliss. Thank you for the kind words on my new house and for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteThe tiny house on stilts is adorable! It reminds me of houses in Galveston. When we lived north of Houston, my husband was offered free stays at houses on Galveston beach by business friends. A lot of the houses were on stilts.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about purple flosses. It is one of my favorite colors yet I don't see it in my bin. And yes that house translates as purple to my eyes.
I hope Mr Pinker has a nice visit with his family and that you are enjoying your "free" time. ;)
I have always wanted to visit Galveston. How wonderful that you and your hubby had the opportunity to stay at the beach especially since the accommodations were free. Right? I am hoping to add some purples to my stash soon. It was interesting to look through my stash to see what I am lacking. Thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteThat's a darling little house, Melisa! I do love a house with a nice front porch. We added one to our home when we remodeled it 30 years ago :) Love that round bunny design, too. You are just so talented--thank you! Enjoy the month of June! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh I agree, Carol. A nice front porch is so nice and inviting. I wish ours was a little larger. We have been enlarging our patios though. Thank you so much for the kind words on my newest stitch and doodle. Have a very happy June. Hugs.
DeleteYour tiny butterfly house is adorable, Melisa! We've just seen our first Swallowtail of the year this morning. The tiny house series looks like a lot of fun to stitch and so do your roundabouts. I'm saving them for when I need some new projects in the future!
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Was you able to get photos of the Swallowtail? We have been seeing a lot of unusual birds in our area this year. It has been a treat to watch them. Thank you so much for adding the tiny house and roundabouts to your future stitching, Diann. I hope you enjoy them. Hugs.
DeleteThis is a favorite. I'm so surprised that the colors look purple when stitched. You're amazing. I'm adding the month at the bottom right above the border.
ReplyDeleteAaw I am so touched. I was not sure about this house since I was using floss colors out of my comfort zone. What a wonderful idea to add the month below them. How clever and creative. I hope you enjoy stitching the newest house. Warm hugs and many blessings.
Delete207 days until Christmas!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I definitely need to start my Christmas embroidery! 😂😂😂
It's incredible how fast time flies...for now, my goal is June 6th, which is my birthday.
Thanks for sharing these adorable designs, Melisa!
Hugs!!
LOL Right? Christmas will be on us before we know it. I was thinking today that I need to start stitching my Christmas gifties. Happy Happy Birthday, Isabel. I wish you the most fantastic birthday week. I hope you eat a big slice of your favorite cake. Warm Hugs.
DeleteHappy June to you too!!
ReplyDeleteHappy June, Alycia . I hope your month is off to a delightful start. It is hard to believe we are half way through the year. Right? Where does time go? Have a beautiful and blessed evening and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteYour "Roundabouts" are so darling--I am printing them out and hope to be able to embroider them over the summer months...
ReplyDeleteHappy June 1st, Melisa;))) Where did the month of May fly off to??? Gosh the months are just flying by for DH and me...
I hope to finish up my quilt UFO's a bit more in June...smaller pieces that I can gift at Christmas...which will be really "just around the corner" before we know it!!
Seems every year the 4th of July and Christmas get closer and closer hahaha
Hugs and thanks for the cutest Spring stitcheries...Julierose
Oh I agree, Julierose. Time is flying by. It seems like once we turn the corner into June the months just speed by. I am so excited that you are saving the roundabouts. I hope you enjoy stitching them as much as I am . I worked on more of mine today. Have a great afternoon, sweet friend. Hugs.
DeleteBunny Harvest is adorable, Melisa. I love the scalloped border on the roundabouts. The tiny butterfly is so cute! Not going to lie, that countdown kind of stresses me LOL. I can't believe how quickly this year is passing by.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Jeanna. I am in love with the bunny roundabout. This little fella was a joy to stitch. I know what you mean about the countdown. Tick Tock. Time is flying by that is for sure. Have a wonderful afternoon. I know you are staying super busy getting ready for the weekend. Hugs.
DeleteOMGoodness! Not sure I wanted to hear that countdown. Such a generous gal you are. Thank you so much. Two lovely new stitches. The songbird is so cute and I can hear his sweet song. This new house looks purple/lavender to me, too. Love the porch.
ReplyDeleteLOL it is a little hard to believe how many days are left once we look at the countdown . Isn't it? There is so much I want to do before those days. I guess I better get moving on some of those projects. Hee! Hee! I have been watching birds right outside of my window each day. We are seeing a lot of different birds. Thank you for the sweet Monday visit, Ginny. Hugs.
DeleteWe have sunshine and warm temperatures for a few more days. . .then rain. I don't know how you accomplish so much! You are like the Energizer Bunny full of energy and projects!
ReplyDeleteOh enjoy the sunshine, Terry. I hope that the rain that heads your way is gentle and welcoming. It has been nice to not have to water the gardens lately. Aaw shucks, Terry. You are the sweetest. I am trying to stay busy. I have good days and bad. The last couple of days have been good. Have a wonderful afternoon. Hugs.
DeleteWhat an adorable butterfly house!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much, Nancy. It was a fun little stitch to work on especially since I was using some unusual floss colors for me. Have a blessed day and Happy June. Hugs.
DeleteThe butterfly house is beautiful!! I don't want to look at that countdown at the moment Melisa, just hope we will finally have good weather in Upstate NY. It's been crazy... one moment you think is warm, the the heater turns on again. I'm so longing for the summer.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Oh, I understand, Diana. I do not like the ups and downs of the weather. I want it to be one or the other, but to be honest I prefer the warmth and sunshine of Spring and Summer. Hopefully the weather will settle down here soon. Right? Thank you for the sweet visit and kind compliment on my latest Tiny House. Hugs.
DeleteWow you have been busy! Love your Bunny Roundabout...so stinkin cute. And the June one is adorable as usual. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Jennifer . I have been working on the roundabouts all week trying to catch up. I am getting really excited about them. I am going to do an update post on what I am doing next with them soon. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
