ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Miss Darlene. I am so happy to have it finished. I am looking forward to the next block. I hope you are having a great week. Hugs.
DeleteBeautiful blocks. It's been fun to see all the different versions that get posted in blogland.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree, Kate. It has been a joy to see the blocks in different color ways. It has been a fabulous SAL. Thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteYour blocks look very nice. I often wonder what Laura would think about her fame so long after she is gone. I and my children enjoyed reading the books. I suppose there isn't enough action in them for today's children. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me with your blocks, I've downloaded the patterns! I have no idea when I'm going to fit the quilt into my busy summer but I'm hopeful to get them pieced sometime. I certainly have plenty of fabrics.
DeleteThank you very much, Gretchen. I always enjoyed Laura's books too and I still watch reruns of the TV show. I say you are right about today's children. LOL. I am so very happy that you downloaded the blocks, Gretchen. I look forward to seeing them in the future. Hugs.
DeleteYou really did a great job on the snowflake block. It's going to be a beautiful quilt! I really want to get moving on these blocks - I really should save them for later! :-) Did you ever see the Little House cookbooks? I'm not sure if they really are recipes from her era or not. I did buy it for my dd when we visited Laura Ingalls Wilder's home. I should probably give it a look see when I visit my dd! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Donna. I am having a ball working on these blocks. I have seen the cookbooks on the Internet. I would be interested to know if they were of the time period. Oh I bet it was amazing to visit Laura's home. I have always wanted to go. Maybe sometime in the near future. Fingers crossed. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteWhat a beautiful block you created, Melisa!

Your blocks are beautiful. How are there new books in the series by Laura Ingalls Wilder after she has passed away? Were more of her writings discovered and published by her heirs, or is someone else writing the new books the way they keep hiring new writers for Nancy Drew books?
