Each paw paw usually has 6 to 8 large seeds which are about an inch in length. You just have to eat the pulp around the seeds and along the skin of the paw paw. They are yummy! |

You are ahead of me with the Irish Chain, I haven't done anything! I'm not sure when the start will happen. Your quilt is so bright and cheery. We have paw-paws here at our new house. They're not quite ready yet but soon. The grandsons love them! Happy stitching!

ReplyDeleteThey are very sweet. We have to pick them quick once they get ripe because the squirrels love them. The muscadines are my favorite though- they are amazing. I am having a ball stitching the sheep virtues. They stitch up so quickly. Have a blessed day, Diann .Hugs.

ReplyDeleteYou are doing great with your Lala quilt, I love your colors. I have never seen nor tasted a pawpaw. Do you make pies with it or just eat it out of hand? Your needlework looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteRight now we are just eating them right off of the tree. Though the trees have been growing for a few years; it has taken awhile before they put on fruit; in fact this is the 2nd year. We are just battling the squirrels to pick the fruit . LOL. Thank you for the sweet Saturday visit, Linda. I hope you are doing well. Stay cool and enjoy your day in the quilt room. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteI have wondered how far north the Paw paw trees grown. I first saw a Paw paw tree in northern TN in a state park. And now we have several trees growing on the farm. I saved the seeds this year and hope to try my hand at growing a few. We shall see. But the fruit is delicious. I sure wish I could send you some. Thank you for the sweet Saturday visit. DeleteI have not eaten a paw paw, but I would like to after reading your description of them. The yellow and red look so bright and summery in the Irish chain. I love the color combination. I have the Little House Needleworks sheep virtue patterns. I can’t decide whether to stitch individually as little pillows or all together and frame it. I can’t wait to see how your stitching turn out. It may help me decide. Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteI debated and debated on what to do about the Sheep Virtues too. Since it had been awhile that I stitched a big Little House project I decided to go for it. LOL. I still have one LHN project that needs to be framed and many that need to be finished. I look forward to hearing what you decide to do in the near future, Alicia. Those little paw paws are delish. Nope, never tasted a Paw Paw. Is the pulp sort of like a banana? Interesting looking. Can they be "put up" in any way or are they mostly a eat and enjoy during their season? Your Lala's Irish Chain is coming along beautifully. The yellow background is so happy and sunny. I tried the link to Happy B'Day Mr. Pres. and it went to something else - Type Pad.
