I'm dreaming...
of orange, gold and rusty browns...
of leaves dropping to the ground...
of quilts here..
quilts there...
of quilts laying everywhere.
I'm dreaming of quirky squirrels gathering nuts
of jack-o-lanterns with glowing eyes.
Yes, I am dreaming of that time of year where I can scream Autumn's here.
Are you dreaming of fall too?
I am trying to contain myself, but I just may mosey up to the attic and roll down some roly poly pumpkins for fall decorating soon!
As Always,
Hello, Howdy and Hi, for some silly reason I had you on my mind all day. Here's to you, sweet Melisa!!! Keeping my hands busy with my "toys" and such has been delightful and blissful. I'm a firm believer in keeping my hands busy - definitely a stress reliever. I don't see my stressful situation going away anytime soon so I'm working on beating it and moving past it. Today held a little bit of x-stitching and lots of applique prepping. Something has to give so I'm looking at all my interests and attempting to decide what needs to go. It has to be something that doesn't bring much joy - time will tell. I wish you a happy, happy Wednesday my sweet friend. Big Old Hugs just for you, DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteYes...I'm dreaming of autumn, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteIt's been an incredibly hot summer in Spain, and the heat is exhausting me physically and mentally.
Next week I'm going back to work, and I hope autumn embraces us with its ochres, yellows, and freshness.
Have a great Wednesday!!
Hugs
Your Autumn Leaves blocks are so adorable--really neat!!:)) We are having a preview of Fall weather right now--temps this morning in the 50's and our Ash tree leaves are turning yellow...
ReplyDeleteIt's so dry--hope we will have "...September in the rain.."
Hugs, Julierose
I love fall; it's my favorite season ! I'm ready for cooler temps, fall baking and casseroles. Have a lovely day !
ReplyDeleteAutumn leaves is very pretty! However I'm not ready for autumn yet, summer is flying past! Autumn is coming though, last week I saw birds swarming in the sky, a sure sign of fall.
ReplyDeleteI'm dreaming of fall too! I'm so ready for it. Love your pretty fall projects.
ReplyDeleteYes to dreaming of fall, but also know that summer will be here and laughing over my dreaming of fall.
ReplyDeleteYour post is a refreshing reminder that summer is ending. I enjoy all the seasons and the seasonal decorating LOL. But, it has been an extremely hot summer and I am ready for cooler fall temperatures. Fall is my favorite season with the colorful leaves and harvest festivals with fall foods and crafts. I can hardly wait to decorate for Halloween 🎃 and fall. I have finished the house with the turkey on the roof and I am beginning the second of your Thanksgiving houses today - a difficult decision deciding which one to stitch next, since they are all so cute! Have a great day. Alicia
ReplyDeleteWhile I like the colors of Autumn, I miss the long days of sunshine. I'm leaving for work in the "dark" today. . .sigh. . .I'm already looking forward to Spring!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteI love your blog so much! I’d love to stitch your Halloween cross stitch cat….is there a way to get the pattern please? Thanks!💕
ReplyDeleteI think the thing about Autumn love is the cooler temperatures. We're still in the 90's here during the day! I don't decorate like I used to but I know I'll be changing out my cross stitch! Blessings!
ReplyDeletegood morning beautiful Melisa.
ReplyDeletewe've got a long way until fall here in California, but i got a really "cool" feeling looking at all your fall, leaf and pumpkin quilts/blocks. think cooler weather. i'm game. it's going to be a scorcher here from now on out. i think we have hot weather until mid-october. yikes!!! send me some cool weather Melisa, please!!!
how are you lovely lady? it's all good here. i am giving up on my tomato plants. the little rascals (whoever they may be - next year i'm installing a movement camera) are waiting until the tomato gets just a little red and then chomp! chomp! away it goes. i'm so sad. my cherokee purple has five new little tomatoes and i am watching them very closely. i am thinking about bringing the plant inside next to my bed so i can watch over it. ha
is it time for a Christmas tree? i am ready. i love the winter season and i love all the lights glowing softly on the tree. it is time - don't you think?
i am going to a quilting day with my quiltie peeps. so looking forward to it. the originator of the group named our get-together "peeps" i love it. i can't wait to see everyone. it has been a bit.
well Melisa i need to get moving so i can prepare the body for my outing. praying you have a lovely day and that you and the family stay safe.
blessings and love are coming your way Melisa. a great, big squeezy hug, too.

I am definitely ready for fall, Melisa! I LOVE that lamp with the string of Christmas lights in it! Happy Hump Day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love fall, too, and love seeing all your fun fall things, Melisa! Those leaf blocks are perfectly scrappy and so pretty - I might have to make some of those. I just harvested some pumpkins from my garden - so there's definitely some hints of fall in my house now, too!
ReplyDeleteOh Melisa I love your post and I love fall too. But at the same time I hope it will not came too soon because that means cold is coming and winters are so long here in Upstate NY! But other than that I look forward to the beautiful colors of the leaves, all the farms making delicious apple cider donuts, selling apples and pumpkins and all those lovely smells of spices and cinnamon of the season.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Autumn is one of my 4 favorite seasons! Haaha Love the warm, toasty colors and the cooler temps and the need for snuggling under quilts to keep warm. Your Fall displays are so cozy and warm feeling. The low volume string piecing has me itching to do the same.
ReplyDeleteI looooooove fall most of all! 🥰🍁🍂 And I feel blessed to live in Maine where we get especially beautiful falls because over 90% of the state is trees. 🌳 I secretly put two pumpkins on our mantle on Monday but my hubby hasn't noticed them yet 😁 I usually don't decorate for fall until early September.
ReplyDeleteI love all your little quilts 😍 What are the temperatures like where you live? Here it went down to the 40s the past two nights. I'm so looking forward to fall!
Enjoy your day! Hugs from Maine,
-Alex 😊
Oh please tell us about those quilts!!! I especially love that huge appliqué pumpkin! 🎃 The piecing and stitching you do is excellent! Love each and every one! ❤️🥰
ReplyDeleteDepuis hier nous avons un temps d'automne en France enfin dans ma région en Savoie.
ReplyDeleteJ'aime beaucoup cette saison et toutes les décorations qui vont avec.
Belle soirée.
;@)
What a cute post! We've been getting a lot of rain , there's talk of temps dropping in the 60's but it wont last long lol tiny signs of Fall are starting to show up in the changing of the leaves
ReplyDeleteAt my age I don’t like to wish my days away but yes…..I am getting the itch for fall and all it’s beautiful colors.Loved your post
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike. I have on my plans this week to pack up the bee and strawberry decorations and pull out the Fall from the attic. I started my first week of official retirement this week. No going into school anymore unless I visit. I really have so many plans that I don't know where to start. I need to get into some kind of rhythm. I love your fall decor and have made a few of your designs. Fall decorating is my favorite. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really clever post, Melisa! It put me in the mood to do some fall decorating and crafting. I first read your blog to check out the salt box cross stitch patterns and have been hooked ever since. I am in awe of your boundless energy. Thank you for sharing your homey posts and needlework ideas with all of us.
ReplyDeleteYou are excited, arent you!
