    1. LOL , dear Darlene. I think we are two peas in a pod. I am a night owl too. That is when I like to do my hand quilting . It is going to be a hot one here today so I got up early to play in the garden. I know it is probably a scorcher there too so do stay cool and enjoy your day. Big Hugs from the hot holler. LOL.

    1. Oh thank you so much, dear Isabel. As it gets hotter, the flowers are feeling a bit of the stress so I thought I better get a few photos before they are spent. I hope you are having a lovely day. Hugs.

  4. Loving those cheerful marigolds, my favorite little flower. So hot here still; they say we are to get thunder-boomers tomorrow bringing in some cooler air--hope so...hugs, Julierose

    1. Oh Julierose, marigolds are my favorite too. They grow well in our poor soil and usually put on a good show for me. I do hope you get some rain for relief . Cooler temps would definitely be nice. No rain is in our forecast. - Bummer. LOL. Have a blessed day and thank you for the Wednesday visit. Hugs.

    1. Aaah thank you so much, Linda. I have been working on expanding my gardens for years. I would love to have a cottage garden, but alas it is hard with such poor soil. But I am happy with how well the flowers have done this year. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Hugs.

    1. Aaaw thank you so much, Diann. Marigolds are such a forgiving and beautiful plant aren't they? Do you save your seed and replant them each year? Oh I have garden art scattered all through out the property- I love that rusty crusty look. LOL. I got up early and did all my garden chores ; now I am ready to spend the day in the cool. Have a beautiful day. Hugs.

  8. good morning lovely Melisa.
it is so true that gardening adds life to your years. it's all the beautiful color that surrounds us. i just love how most quilters are also gardeners. i guess we just cannot get enough of the amazing color. now most quilters and gardeners are becoming cross stitchers. sooooo many of my friends are into the cross stitch mode. i think i am more of a pattern collector who purchases patterns or prints off free patterns (thank you thank you thank you Melisa). i will eventually pickup a needle. i can feel it in my bones.
i pray the weather has settled a little for you. is it time to take a dip in the pool before the youngins' perform their cannon ball splashes? i live in a mobile home park and we have a community center with a pool. the pool is so busy in the day and early evening. mommies with their babies splashing around. it's such a joy to see, however, i wish it was me in the swimming pool. i haven't found the nerve to put on a swimsuit and go out in public. i have a few rolls i'm not too proud of. i guess it is the result of my mini powdered sugar donuts that call to me every morning with my coffee.
thank you so much for your beautiful garden photos. the flowers are all so beautiful dancing in the sunlight.
have an awesome Wednesday Melisa. you're the best!!! sweet as a cherry pie with redi-whip extra cream topping. are you running to the kitchen prepping a cherry pie? i love cherry pie. pop a piece in the microwave for 20 seconds, then slather on the whipped topping. um um good!!!
blessings and love are coming your way gorgeous Melisa.
a great big squeezy hug is embracing you now.

    1. Good morning, sweet Debra and a very Happy Wednesday to you. I hope your day is off to a lovely start and it is not too hot in your neck of the woods. Oh yes, I think hobbies do bring lots of comfort and add years to our lives. Most quilters do seem to have multiple hobbies don't they? Now Miz Debra, don't you be shy about getting in that pool and enjoying every minute of it. You are beautiful just the way you are :) I don't like to wear bathing suits either- good ole shorts and t shirt is fine with me. Hee! Hee! I bet all of the kiddos in your neighborhood enjoy the pool time though; they are fun to watch. Aren't they? . Aaah you are just as sweet as a cherry pie as well with double dollops of whipped topping! How are your tomatoes and basil doing? My basil has perked up and is doing well , but my oregano is going south. I do need to look up to see what is wrong with it. Oh well, thus is the garden. Have a beautiful day, sweet friend. It is always a joy to hear from you. Bear hugs from the holler.

    2. Good afternoon Melisa.
quilters have lots of irons in the fire. always up doing something. keeping busy.
the kids love the pool and i love it when the mommies are telling the kids move your arms, now kick. it's so adorable. quality time - absolutely the best time!!! children need that time with family.
i may have better luck with my tomatoes next year. i'm not going to use the soil Home Depot suggested again. i have used good ole top soil and potting soil in the pots previously without any problem. my houseplants do a wonderful job using that combination. Home Depot had me purchase some pretty expensive dirt and my tomatoes just aren't happy. the basil i planted with the tomatoes has all been eaten by the worms. what the heck? goodness me. i thought the scent of the basil was to keep the worms away not to feed the worms supper. i'm going to do research (i'll have my husband do it - he loves the "investigating" aspect of everything). i'm just a plant and go type of gal. my cherokee purple does have a few little green tomatoes so i am ecstatic about that. i hope they become full growth tomatoes. out of eight plants i have probably at the most gotten 20 tomatoes and that is counting the cherry tomatoes, too. geez!!! life lessons learned.
your tomatoes and zucchini sound amazing. can you please ship me a box of some good homegrown veggies? teasing sweet Melisa. Mr. Pinker and yourself make an excellent team. you sound like such a happy couple. a couple who enjoys each other and who are always there for each other. that doesn't happen often Melisa. you are truly blessed. you are also truly blessed by such a loving family. i am sooooo happy for you.
love you bunches young lady!!! stay sweet always. you're the best.
have an awesome day and be sure to move yours arms and kick your feet.
      hugs.

    3. Good evening, dear Debra. Well I am so sorry to hear about your basil plant. I would be interested to hear what you and your hubby discover. I am like you . I just plant and see what happens. LOL. Sometimes it is a hit , sometimes a miss. I keep trying though. We have bought some "terrible " dirt from Lowes. It is hard to find good dirt for potting your plants. I have a compost bin, but it has been years in the making. Aaah thank you so much for the kind words on me and hubby. I guess we go together like peanut butter and jam. LOL. We will have the grandkids tomorrow. So there is no telling what all we will get into. Warm hugs and blessings . And I want forget to kick my feet and move my arms. LOL
