Tales from Camp and Sweet Friends

 Hello there Stranger! Welcome!

Mr. Pinker and I have rambled our way back home after a long camping trip. We had a humdinger of a time. Now I must confess there were not a lot of adventures, but it was peaceful and relaxing which was fine and dandy with me.

Before we left on our adventure , Mr. Pinker said, " I have an idea for our camper!"  He was grinning from ear to ear.

With a little hesitation, I asked, "What?"

"Put our camper on a trailer!" he replied.

"What!?! " I exclaimed. I could not envision it. What was this mad man thinking .πŸ˜‚πŸ€ͺHee! Hee!

Well, it was not long before Mr. Pinker drove Ole' Big Red and the Ole' Truck Camper into the field.

Soon the camper was unloaded . "I just don't know about this, " I said to Mr. Pinker.

"Just trust me," he said as he left to get the trailer.  Soon he was backing the trailer up to the camper.  Eeek!   I was nervous as a long tailed cat in a room of rocking chairs!

"How are you going to get it on the trailer? " I asked perplexed.

"Just wait and see, " said Mr. Pinker as he bustled up the hill to bring down one of the tractors. Soon another joined. Using the buckets and the lifts the camper was held in place as the "legs" were removed . I stood far back for I was certain a disaster was going to take place.

Preparing to balance the camper before loading.

Slowly and carefully, Mr. Pinker eased the truck and trailer under the camper and soon it was nestled on the gooseneck.
"I am not sure if I am going to like this. " I replied. But Mr. Pinker reassured me that there would be some advantages and if we did not like it , we could always take it off.

Camper all loaded and at the campsite.

So what did I think of our maiden voyage with our new set up? Well, I liked it !   We could carry more and take the truck out without having to unload the camper to save our site if we wanted and.... I liked having a trailer for a deck . The downside was loading and unloading our stuff in the camper, but other than that all was good.

Oh , I forgot! We did have a flat on the way. Thankfully, Mr. Pinker had the spare on the trailer in 2 shakes of a lamb's tail, and we were on our way.

Yikes! We have a shredded tire! Oh bother!

We will probably go with this layout when we leave for the winter trip. We will be able to take more food and water with us which is a big plus when camping off grid.

I finished Spring Wildflower Mini Sampler which I shared in June.

May I show you my "happy display" that sits on my wee coffee table ? Lots of little treasures  which warms my heart and makes me smile. Dear Vivian, stitched my Blooms of Sunshine and  made me the most darling card. πŸ€—πŸŒ»πŸ’›

Look at all of the details and she included in the  beautiful card and the sweetest handmade note cards with envelopes. My heart is still going thumpity thump over these gifts. Thank you so much , dear Vivian. I will treasure these. πŸ’—πŸ’—

Hmmm... what else is in my thrifted enamelware bowl? Well a big cloth pumpkin gifted to me from my sweet sister in 2020. I will always remember her pulling up in my driveway after a day out thrifting. She opened up her trunk showed me her thrifty finds and gave me a few as well. I miss her more and more as the days go by.

I also have some other goodies. Like an old vintage crumb catcher, a cutie patootie stationary pad, and some vintage sewing tools including the Dritz tracing wheel. I do believe it has a bakelite handle if I am not mistaken.

The darling needlebook was a gift from sweet Robin. Perfect for stitching all year round.  Don't ya' think? Thank you Robin. πŸ€—πŸ§‘ I say my wee table is all set and ready for some stitching .

I have one more Halloween stamp to post for this year. I will be posting it  as soon as I can get it printed and loaded so do stay tuned. In the meantime, I have fallen behind on stitching the Halloween Stamp Sampler so I do need to catch up on that.

Well, Sweeties, here I have done it again- chatted your ears off. I do apologize. So tell me what do you have on the agenda for the day?
Have a beautiful day!

As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting,

 y'all

    1. Happy Happy Tuesday, Darlene. Oh thank you so much on our new set up. Hubby is always thinking up something new for our camping adventures. LOL. I am certainly happy that we will be able to take more "stuff" with us to keep from running to town as much when at camp. Have you been quilting away? I am just about ready to bind a little quilt and then on to the next one. Big hugs from a rainy holler.

  5. Good to see you back - and already planning a winter camping trip! Wow - where do you go for one? We're here as usual. Getting settled. Hopefully the RV slideout will be fixed soon. And we're getting a new sofa! YAY! I've been spending my days at the VA clinic getting setup for them to be my primary care. Sure takes a while but they are very thorough and very kind. Blessings to you!

    1. Oh thank you so much, Donna. It is good to be back home . Now just to finish those "back home chores" LOL. We will probably head back out to AZ for the winter. Hubby has a few more things he wants to do to the camper. LOL He is always tinkering. I was wondering if you got your slide out fixed and woo hoo on the new sofa! How exciting! It is so good to hear how thorough the VA is. Hopefully, everything will be set up and processed quickly. I have heard good things about our VA clinic that a number of Vets use. I wish you the best. Have a beautiful day. Warm hugs and blessings

    1. LOL we are trying to get ready. I have already started making lists and gathering a few supplies so we are not overwhelmed during the holidays. I have to admit , Gretchen, I would stay on the road traveling full time if I could. LOL I guess that is the wanderlust in me, but I come by it naturally - my Great Aunt and now my dad enjoy traveling. Thank you for the sweet visit . I wish you a lovely day in the quilting room. Hugs.

  13. Peaceful and relaxing always sounds good to me! These men of ours always have "ideas" - it's good when they work out, lol! I can see that putting the camper on the trailer helped haul the ATV at the same time. Love your Spring Wildflower sampler and all your thrifted goodies, too!

  14. good morning lovely Melisa. i get so worried about you when you don't post for a bit.
it looks like you had an amazing trip. i would have stepped back too as Mr. Pinker loaded the camper shell on the trailer. he is extremely brave that Mr. Pinker. i'm glad everything turned out well and that it worked wonders for you.
i am so happy you are back safe and sound. thank you for the cross stitch projects. i'll have to contact my stitching buddy on colors to choose for the stitches.
i hope you have a wonderful, blessed day. i was supposed to be quilting with my quilty buddies, but i am feeling a bit down today. nothing in particular just "life". it happens sometimes.
blessings and love are coming your way. thank you so much for your post this morning. i am so happy you are home. when do you leave again? haha

    1. Oh sweet Debra, I cannot tell you how much your concern means to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I had hoped to post earlier. We usually in camp in places where the wifi service is questionable. LOL. Oh yes, I was nervous as can be . I could imagine the camper crashing to the ground. The family all came out to watch the process. It was a sight to behold. LOL. The long winter vacation will come sometime in Dec or Jan. if all goes well. I am not sure if we will have any short excursions or not. You know us- we fly by the seat of our pants. Hee! Hee! Aaaw I am so sorry you are feeling on the "blah" side today. I am sending you a big squeezey bear hug in hopes you will feel better soon. You are such a sweetie ; maybe just having a day to relax will perk you up in no time. I hope you do something for yourself to brighten your day - you certainly deserve it. Love and Hugs

You'll have tons of room to bring home even more thrifting goodies :) That cloth pumpkin from your sister is so pretty--a lovely memory of her and your love for each other. It's so hard losing those we love--no matter how much time goes by, it never stops hurting. Sending you a big hug! ♥
