There is a chill in the air!
The wind is blowing and the leaves are rustling.
Soon little spooks and ghouls will be bustling .
For Halloween is here.
Happy Halloween, sweet friends and welcome. Will you be entertaining ghosts and goblins tonight? I am sure to be spooked by just 4 with a visit from my grandsons and nephews, and then off to town they will go in search of sweets and treats.
Today they were allowed to dress up for school and some classes even had parties. How fun! 🍬🍬🍬 Tonight they will set out on their grand candy seeking adventure a little before 5:00 when most of the other goblins come out.
Speaking of treats- my dear friend, Dianet has the most precious Halloween Freebie on her blog, Parchesdeamor blogspot. It is a darling Halloween Potion Jar; it is sure to cast a spell upon you.🫙🫙 It will be my Halloween start for the day. I will be choosing my fabric and gathering my floss. Thank you, Dianet. I will be sure to post my progress as I work on it. Will you be starting a new project today?
Did I ever show you my 2 Halloween cookie jars I bought this year? They were from Walmart . I have enjoyed them so much. In fact, the ghosts inspired my hutch display for the year.
Of course my hutch was filled to the brim with all things Halloween.
| Mr. Pinker made the hutch for me years ago. I enjoy filling it with treasures and handmades for the season. |
Late tonight at the stroke of midnight ( nah not really that early) all of these spooks will be banished to the deep dark depths of the attic until next year. Bye bye black cats and pesky bats. 🦇🦇🦇
Hmmm will turkeys flutter down to roost on the hutch to rest? Or will Santa shoo them away and adorn the shelves brightly colored baubles? I haven't decided yet. Usually I display my turkeys , but I am hearing jingle bells as the Christmas vibes are strongly calling.
I am curious. - When do you begin decorating for Christmas?

Alrighty , Sweeties, that's my Halloween musings. A bit of this and that and a whole lot of nothing- LOL.
Now you have a magical and spooktacular day!

Happy Stitching and Quilting,

Your Halloween hutch is adorable. The cookie jars are a perfect touch and look perfect with the other goodies. I don't have a special time I start decorating for Christmas. Like everything else I just fly by the seat of my pants. LOL When the mood strikes I get busy. Since it's just me I don't do as much as I used to but time will tell. I'll probably keep it simple and just decorate my kitchen. Just not sure.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest grandson stopped by to day to replace the battery in a chirping smoke alarm. It was annoying - ugh. It was so good to see him and just chat with him for a bit. I don't see either grandson very often. They work, work, work.
Happy Friday and Halloween!!! Big Ole Hugs, DarleneJ
Aaw I am so glad you got to visit with your grandson and he was able to get that pesky alarm quietened. LOL. I don't think us grandmas ever get enough time with the grandchildren no matter how old they are . Do you? I usually fly by the seat of my pants on decorating too. Hubby laughs because at times I get flustered, but I eventually get most of it done. LOL. Have a great day, sweet Darlene. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Halloween to you!
ReplyDeleteI love the cookie jars. Your deco is great. Christmas deco starts after the 15th of Nov. and I take out my little "Mrs. Olesons Merchandise" shop.
Be in a hurry for tonite, send greetings and a big Boo,
Gabi
Oh I hope you had a very Happy Halloween, Gabi. We had a great time with the grandsons and then we went out to eat before all the spooks officially got on a roll. LOL. Oh I bet your Mrs. Oleson's Merchandise shop is adorable! Do you have a special place you like to display it? It will soon be time to pull it out. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.
DeleteI love your embroidery, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your Halloween embroidery parade, so beautifully displayed in the shop window, even though I don't celebrate this holiday, which is foreign to me.
The Spanish tradition is to celebrate All Saints' Day on November 1st and All Souls' Day on November 2nd. These are days when we have a special remembrance for those who have passed away.
Have a great celebration!!
Hugs from Seville
Oh how interesting, Isabel. I did not know that. I hope your holidays are lovely ones as you honor and remember those who have passed . Thank you so much for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Halloween 🎃 👻 Love your hutch. Enjoy the grandkids and have a spooky day. K from NY
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much, K. I hope your Halloween was a good one. The grandsons got a lot of candy so they were very happy. Have a great weekend. Warm hugs and Blessings.
DeleteYour hutch is so fun. The potion jar is adorable - I am printing it off and adding it to the stitch stack. I only got about half of my Halloween decorations out this year due to some health issues. The timing of holiday decorating was a difficult decision since my eldest daughter from a young age felt that Thanksgiving didn’t get the recognition it deserved. So we would decorate the kitchen and family room in Halloween and the living room and dining room in fall/Thanksgiving. Once Halloween decorations are out we would immediately start on Thanksgiving - the process usually begins mid to end of September. November 1 or 2 Halloween 👻 gets stored and I start with Christmas decorations. The tree goes up but I don’t decorate it until the day after Thanksgiving. This schedule works keeps everyone happy and I am able to enjoy the fall decorations for a longer period of time. After the kids moved to their own homes I have kept the tradition. It is a busy decorating schedule but I love the decorations for all 3 holidays.
ReplyDeleteWe haven’t had any trick or treaters in years but I always have candy ready just in case. My dogs have costumes (Frankenstein and a lion this year) and will trick or treaters at friends homes. Thanks for the visit and enjoy Halloween. Alicia
Isn't Dianet's potion jar the cutest? I am so glad you are adding it to your stitching list, Alicia. Well it sounds like we both do about the same thing on juggling the 3 holidays. LOL. I usually decorate the kitchen for Thanksgiving on Nov. 1st and the rest of the house sports Christmas. It is a lot of work , but I am like you- I enjoy all of the decorations. LOL. I have been working on the living room this weekend. Fingers crossed I will finish it soon. Have a great day. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Halloween! Your hutch display looks perfect. December 1st was always my Christmas decorating time, but in the last few years it gets later and later!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful Halloween, Vicki. I used to wait until December 1st but my begin date keeps creeping earlier and earlier and I get slower and slower about . Hee! Hee! But it finally gets put out. Have a great day. Hugs.
DeleteThose Halloween cookie jars are adorable! Your Halloween hutch looks really fun and pretty. We start decorating for Christmas right after Thanksgiving. I'm debating putting our tree up for our Thanksgiving when everyone comes to eat - not sure if it would take up too much room though' if anyone spends the night some of them have to sleep on air mattresses in our living room, so we have to leave enough space for that. Anyhoo, have a great weekend Melisa!
ReplyDeleteIt makes a difference if you have a lot of family coming. There is always so much to do and I understand about needing room. The grandsons sometimes pull out air mattresses for the living room here so I have to leave room or move things around for them. Thank you for the sweet visit, Linda. And Happy November. Hugs.
DeleteI have enjoyed stitching all of the Halloween Stamps this year and they fill my wooden bowl on my dining table! Cannot wait for the new ones next year!! Thanking you again for your generosity in sharing your creative designs - I am working on some Christmas stamps that I did not get to last year and of course the list of unfinished houses yet to stitch. Happy Halloween - Carrie
ReplyDeleteAaw that just warms my heart, Carrie. I am so glad that you enjoyed the Halloween stamps. I think they are my favorite thus far that I have created. They came so easily to me. I cannot thank you enough for stitching my humble designs. It means the world to me. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteGood Morning! Dh reminded me I need to take down the Halloween cross stitch and Happy Halloween sign tomorrow. What I'll put up I have no idea - already have your Autumn Sal so that will last for a while. ;-) As for decorating for Christmas, the day after Thanksgiving is when everything goes up! Love your cookie jars. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAaw well you may need a Thanksgiving sign to hang up for November. I started taking my Halloween down this weekend and Christmas is already making its way into the house. LOL. Thank you for the sweet visit, Donna. Hugs.
DeleteI enjoy seeing your hutch decorations, all your nick nacks and crosstiches. My oldest loves Thanksgiving so the Christmas decorations don't come out until the day after Thanksgiving. We don't shop on black Friday we decorate for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOh I have always loved to decorate for Thanksgiving too. Years ago I started collecting turkeys. I had never seen a wild turkey in real life until my hubby showed me one and that got me hooked. LOL . Decorating for Christmas sounds like a whole lot more fun than fighting the crowds for Black Friday shopping . LOL. Have a blessed day and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteI usually start decorating for Christmas around the 15th of Dec. --we don't really do a lot--a small tabletop tree and my fireplace mantel is all really. Your hutch is again so full of "eye candy"--perfect for Halloween candy treating...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteAww I bet your tree and mantel is just gorgeous and festive. Do you hang up holiday quilts as well? I am thinking of your Christmas Strawberries and Ojo quilts. So pretty. Thank you for the sweet visit, Julierose. Hugs.
Deletegood morning "spooky" Melisa.
ReplyDeleteyou aren't really spooky. i just love your hutch. all of the halloween. yippee!!! i'm really not much of a halloween person, but i love everything halloween. is that strange? all of the beautiful colors. purples, oranges, blacks - what's not to love? it will be so fun seeing all the little kidlets today all dressed up saying there trick or treats with their little bags open wide. i remember taking my kids trick or treating. there was always a school carnival and i always brought home three goldfish as prizes won from the games they had played. it was such fun watching the kids. i wish they would have the carnivals again. make life more family-oriented. families seem so divided anymore. could one of the reasons be the creation of cellphones? there just doesn't seem to be any family outings any longer.
i love your hutch Melisa. it is so beautiful. your ghost cookie jar is the best. i already have decorated for Christmas. my tree was up on September 1st. i think i mentioned it in a previous post.
my mom's appt went great. she's doing great and all her labs were very good. she needs to increase her food intake - very low on protein and increase her activities, but other than that she passed with flying colors.
i didn't pick my quilt up because i was under the weather on Wednesday. we are playing out Wednesday today. i'll pick up my quilt, stop by rosie's calico cupboard to see a few friends and then onto my visit with Rosie. i am very much looking forward to it. it will be another busy day.
my daughter came in from arizona last night with my grand puppy. dusty, 13 years old, my grand puppy, will be staying with me for a few days. andrea's honey, dwight, and her will be driving to las vegas to celebrate their upcoming birthdays - dwight, november 4th, and andrea, november 10th.
i think i have kept your attention long enough. you can't get back to quilting and stitching as long as i have your ear.
have a wonderful, blessed day Melisa. it's going to be an awesome day.
blessings and love are on the way to you.
Debra Broyles
Good morning, Miz Debra. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Aaw I remember the school carnivals- so much fun. You are right - they do not do things like that anymore. I agree I think the cell phones and such distract are youngins' something awful. Well I guess all of us. Anywhooo. I am so glad your mom's appointment went well. How are you feeling? I have been worried about you. Oh I do wish your dear daughter a very Happy Birthday as well as her beau. I am sure little Dusty will keep you on your toes for the next few days. Or does he lay about much? Mom's fur baby used to love to sit on the couch and watch TV. It was not too feisty. LOL. I have been putting away Halloween and pulling out more Christmas. That will continue today. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and do take care. Big hugs from a rainy holler.
DeleteYour Halloween hutch is so cute, Melisa! Love the cookie jars - are they full of goodies? I'm going for turkeys first, and Christmas after Thanksgiving. Happy Halloween! I hope those boys of yours have a blast!
ReplyDeleteAaaw thank you so much, Diann. Well there is not a cookie one in those jars. Hubby and the rest of the family will not eat cookies in the jars. Why? I have no idea. I have tried and tried to make the change, but LOL they won't . Oh well. Oooh I cannot wait to see your turkeys on display. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteYour hutch is adorable! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Brenda. I really enjoyed the Halloween hutch. These were my 1st Halloween cookie jars. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteDH might start doing outdoor decorations anywhere from late November to mid December, depending on what the weather outlook is and what else he has going on. Indoors, I refuse to start until after Thanksgiving, sometimes not until mid December. Not that I do a lot of decorating as I don't really have good places to put much out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to Dianet's cute pattern.
Oh how lucky are you that your DH likes to decorate the outdoors. We used to do that , but not so much anymore since no one can see our house. I used to always wait till Thanksgiving or afterwards, but over the years my "start date" has gotten sooner and sooner. LOL Thank you for the sweet visit, Gail. Hugs.

Hello my beautiful Meli, what a joy to know you liked my little design! It's an honor to know you'll make it and have a little piece of me close to you. I feel so grateful and happy thanks to you. Today I'll continue embroidering your projects that I'm absolutely in love with (literally!) hahaha. Hugs and have a happy and lovely day with you and your beautiful family. Enjoy your grandchildren! Kisses
Good morning , dear Dianet. Oh, I just fell in love with your potion bottle. It is adorable! And will be perfect for my witches' apothecary next year. You did such a beautiful job and are so very creative in all that you do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing it with all of us. You are the sweetest! And you always make my day ever so special. Warm hugs and many blessings.
DeleteYour Halloween hutch is really cute,, but spooky. Enjoy the holiday with the grands. I don't start decorating for Christmas till after Thanksgiving. My Guy is a big proponent of not rushing holidays.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Kate. The little cookie jars were a great inspiration for me . I enjoyed the hutch so much. Oh yes, I understand about not rushing the holidays - enjoy each and every one. Warm Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteSuch awesome Halloween treasures in your display today! I decorate for Christmas now. . .after Thanksgiving. When youngest daughter lived here, it was December 21 because her birthday was December 20! Not starting a new project today, working to make progress on one instead!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteMy Mom used to decorate for Christmas after my sisters birthday when we were little. It was usually when we got out of school too. Now we both decorate earlier. I still like to decorate for Thanksgiving too though. Have a great day. Hugs.
DeleteWhat a darling Halloween hutch, Melisa. I see that you, like me, prefer cute and not gory/scary Halloween :) I, too, will take my Halloween decorations down tomorrow and out the turkeys will come. I may start decorating early for Christmas this year as my whole family will be here and we'll be alone with just one son and his girlfriend for Thanksgiving. I'd like to get things up so I can relax and enjoy December more than I usually do! Wishing you a wonderful November! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh yes, no creepy decorations here. LOL. I have got most of my Halloween down now. I just need to get them in the cupboards and attic. Aaw it sounds like you will have a full house on Christmas. I know you will love that. Happy decorating, Carol and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteThanks for sharing the jar freebie. It is adorable. Always love to see your hutch decor. I really like the cat, bat and Jack o Lantern in the black frame. My turkeys will be coming out tomorrow. Well honestly some are already out with my Fall decor. Thanksgiving is my favorite. I do put up my Christmas tree in mid November because it takes a while and I want to enjoy it. Other than the tree Santa must wait his turn as every turkey deserves it's day in the limelight.
ReplyDeleteHappy November , Lisa. I am like you- I am always excited to bring out the turkeys for November. I bet your displays are adorable. Oh yes, the turkey does need his day! Hee! Hee! I agree on the tree too- it takes so long to put one up you might as well have it up and enjoy every minute of it. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteOh the ghost cookie cutter has my heart! LOVE love love!
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with it immediately and had to have it and soon the haunted house followed. LOL These were my 1st Halloween cookie jars and I really enjoyed having them on display. Thank you for the sweet visit, Kathy. Happy November. Hugs
DeleteYour hutch is decked out nicely for Halloween. I love those cookie jars. I decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. It is a long-standing tradition to get our Christmas tree that day. Enjoy your weekend, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteAaaw it would be wonderful to have a fresh cut tree. What a sweet tradition. We have not had a live tree in a few years. We may have to put one up in the near future. Thank you for the sweet visit, Jeanna. Hugs.
DeleteWhat cute cookie jars! Perfect for your Halloween decorating. Thanks for the link to the little potion bottle. Glad to see that Otis Payne is still coming along. That green is definitely a throwback to the 70's. I won't even tell you what my dad called this color. Haha I can't see the color with out hearing his voice in my head and his distinctive laugh. Hope you survived the visit of your little ghouls and goblins aka grands and nephews. We had zip trick or treaters. Oh, well. We keep buying candy. Hope springs eternal, right?
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy November, Ginny. LOL I am so glad that green bow tie brought back fond memories of your dad. LOL. I had to giggle imagining what he might say. We just had the 4 youngin's trick or treat us and then all was quiet here. I am like you I buy candy just in case someone shows up though. Have a wonderful Sunday. Hugs.
DeleteFor almost a year, my husband left me and our two children. He stopped caring, stopped calling, and was completely gone. I was broken, confused, and nearly lost hope. Then one day, a friend told me about Dr. Dawn, a spiritual man gifted by the universe to help people restore love and peace.
ReplyDeleteAt first, I was doubtful, but something about his words gave me peace. He told me exactly what was wrong and that someone had cast a strong spell to separate us. He prepared a special spiritual work and a reunion spell for me — and within a few days, my husband called me out of nowhere, crying and asking for forgiveness.
Since that moment, my life has never been the same. Our marriage is now the sweetest and happiest on earth. We love each other more than ever, and our home is filled with laughter and blessings.
But that’s not all — Dr. Dawn also helped to clear the bad luck and negative energy that surrounded our family. Since then, everything has been smooth: peace in our home, financial progress, good health, and pure joy.
I thank the universe every day for leading me to Dr. Dawn. He’s truly a man of divine power and light. If you are going through any situation — heartbreak, bad luck, or confusion — don’t give up. Reach out to him and let the universe work through him to change your story, just like he changed mine.
