The Ole' Crow Saltbox - A Saltbox Freebie

Good afternoon, ya'll.  I have a new saltbox to share with you. I sure hope that you like it.  I have had a hankering to create another yellow saltbox with one of  my favorite birds- crows.

I know . I know . I have the tendency to stick crows in a lot of my stitches, but they are just so darn cute in my eyes. Lol  This is The Ole' Crow Saltbox.

It is reminiscent of the Crow Creek Saltbox but this one has some very gigantic sunflowers surrounding it.🌻

Crow Creek Saltbox

Did you notice some of the windows are different sizes?

I had a ball stitching it. I used some of the same colors that I used in my Basket of Honeysuckle . Can I say that DMC 730 is becoming one of my new favorite greens?  Any whoo! If you are interested in stitching The Ole' Crow Saltbox, please check out the links below where you will find jpgs.

Many of you know , but I always like to leave this little disclaimer.

I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding that I  have to put each page on separate links because of the devices I use. I apologize for that.  These are images of the chart  or JPG s and not downloads.   I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs.

I included an alphabet for your initials but it would be cute to stitch up as a wee sampler too.

I finished the little sampler on a thrifted chalk paddle board. I added a line of dashes underneath the letters "V, W, X, Y, Z" to fill in a bit more  of the space. I hope to change out other pieces on this paddleboard.  Eeeeh ! I am over the moon with it though I do need to clean up my chalking. Lol.

BE LIKE A CROW:

🌻Collect shiny things.

🌻Hop down the street for no apparent reason.

🌻Scream loudly when you see your friends.

🌻Don't let life ruffle your feathers.

If you have missed any of the other saltboxes, just click on the names below and you will be whisked back to a previous posts for your reading pleasure, and you will also find links to the charts there as well.

  3. How wonderful seeing all your saltbox house stitcheries together. I dont do cross stitch but can certainly admire those who do. Can you tell me please, why are the houses called salt boxes?

    1. Good afternoon , Jenny. Thank you so much on my saltboxes. I have become quite obsessed with stitching them. The saltboxes are a New England style house  dating back to 1600's and most had the elongated roofs where they added on to the rear of the houses. I always love looking at how people add on to houses even today.  Have a wonderful day and hope you are getting in some quilting or embroidery time.

I love your suggestion. Thank you so much. I am working on butterfly quilt right now and a little house with lavender and butterflies would be so lovely as a stitchery. I will certainly be brainstorming. Have a blessed day. Hugs.

    1. Aah you are so welcome, Gail and thank you. I hope that you enjoy them . Oh I completely understand, you have to stay on top of the weeding especially during this time of the year. Don't get overheated though. It has been a scorcher here which makes that task a dreaded one. Lol. Have a wonderful rest of the week and thank you for the sweet visit.

  12. I'm a relatively new follower and I LOVE this design! I split my time between Texas (my job, though I work remotely) and Arizona (husband's job). We have a nesting pair of crows at our Arizona house - we love to watch and listen to them, even if they leave a mess under their nest, lol. Thank you for the wonderful design - perfect for summer into fall, and for the many other wonderful designs! I am a longtime cross stitcher (50 years!) but put it away about 15 years ago and recently started up again. I can't wait to start this one :-)

I am a bird watched and I always enjoy watching the crows ; they certainly can be characters. I hope that you enjoy this little chart; it stitched up quickly. Have a wonderful day, my dear and thank you again for the sweet visit.

  14. Your designs won’t show up when I click the link. Page does but it’s blank. I’m sad! I love your freebys! A couple of the later ones show up but they are like half on one page and half on another.

    1. Oh , Molly . I am so sorry. I am not sure what is going on. I tried the links on my end and even with another computer and they came up. Hmm I wonder if it is the service. You might try it again and see what happens. This technology can be quite frustrating especially when changes are being made . I have struggles myself. I wish I could be of more help and I go apologize.
