Tommy Toe Snatcher- A Tomato Tuesday Freebie and an Ooops

Happy , happy Tuesday, dear friends. Well it's another Tomato Tuesday. Do you have any maters growing in pots or in your garden? I have a few Tommy Toes, Celebrity Tomatoes, Sun Sugars and Cherokee Purples- just enough to get Mr. Pinker and I through the summer months. I am thinking fried green tomatoes ( yum yum), mayonaisse and tomato sandwiches (  yum yum ) and of course on the healthy side- salads ( not much excitement on this food choice) lol.

Tuesdays is always a fun day because I know I am going to be working on something tomato related with my friend , Joan and a tiny stitch with my friend Christina who hosts #tinytuesdaycrossstitching. On Memorial Day, I created this little stitch complete with a basket to gather yummy Tommy Toes but  a little snatcher snuck into my stitch 😆, and she has grabbed a small vine of this juicy fruit for her munching pleasure.

Aaah I think she is a cute birdie so she can have her maters.

I stitched mine on 14 count coffee/ tea dyed aida and used  7 floss colors which were 433, 310, 782, 3345, 3022, 816, and 413. I do not have a full set of DMC so I always just work with what I have on hand; I definitely encourage you to choose your favorite colors when stitching any of my designs.

If you would like to stitch the Tommy Toe Snatcher , check out the pdfs below. It is a real quick stitch and can be completed in just a few hours .

Many of you know , but I always like to leave this little disclaimer.

I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding that I  have to put each page on separate pdf downloads because of the devices I use. I apologize for that.  And I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and stitching my little designs.

I had originally planned a round finish for this stitch, but again I stitched too close to the edge to finish on the piece I had planned- so a good ole' pinkeep was fine. I never can have too many little bowl fillers.

Now onto my OOPS- CORRECTION- This is for BEELIEVE IN FREEDOM. The mistake is in the directions under FABRIC.  I stitched the design on  tea/coffee 14 count aida NOT Charcoal Gray fabric. I am so sorry for the mistake or any confusion.

Thank you so much for the sweet visit today and hope your day is filled with many blessings. As always...

Happy Stitching, ya'll

Melisa

    2. I can eat either too. I buy Hellman’s Mayo but would be just as happy with Dukes! ☺️

  3. You design very cute cross stitches. I envy your garden tomatoes. Maybe one year I’ll try a pot on the deck for little tomatoes. Hopefully the birds won’t get to them first.

    1. Aah thank you so much, Bonnie. Since it is just hubby and I we are doing small little raised beds. But many people have large gardens filled to the brim with all kinds of goodies. A little pot of tomatoes would be great if like you say the birds don't get them. lol. Happy quilting.

  4. As long as the snatcher is in cross-stitch, I'm okay with it!!! We have 3 tomato plants on the patio. DD picked them out, so I'm not up on the varieties. One does say "Tomato Bison". Sounds like a big one!!

    1. Hi , Nancy . I agree the snatchers can stay out of my tomatoes to. I have never heard of Tomato Bison. I am going to check that one out. It does sound like a big one. Hubby likes the Cherokee Purple because they get big but it is hard to wait before they turn purple before something gets to them . Have a great week. Happy Quilting.

  5. Another cutie, Melisa! My husband loves tomatoes and has many varieties growing in our garden. I am not a tomato eater, sadly. I'm not fond of them uncooked and have a terrible problem with heartburn after I have salsa, spaghetti sauce, etc. So I tend to avoid them. My husband more than makes up for the fact that I don't eat them, though :) Happy Tuesday ♥

    1. Happy Tuesday, Carol. I bet you have a beautiful garden. I hate that tomatoes give you fit when you eat them. That is what bell peppers do to me but I love them so. Well at least your hubby will get his tummy filled this summer. I hope you have something planted in the garden for yourself. Lol. Have a wonderful day and thank you.

  8. Very cute! Love tomato sandwiches with mayo on fresh white bread. Yummy. Grow a little basil to go with the tomato's with some mozzarella cheese and balsamic vinegar for a lite salad.

  9. Thank you for all the free patterns, I don't think I can keep up!
What is the pattern name and designer in your header photo at the top of your blog? I've looked all over and cannot figure it out. (The big blue salt box house with the eagles.)

    1. Aah you are so kind, Jessica . Thank you so much for visiting me today and for the sweetest compliment. The big blue salt box is one of mine that I free handed last year before I started charting. I hope to chart it and post it sometime soon. Happy stitching

  10. Tommy Toe Snatcher is so sweet! It's perfectly finished with that lace trim A plateful of fried green tomatoes, straight out of the pan, with a cold glass of sweet tea would have to be my favorite meal. As well as being delicious, I have a very fond memory of them. They were part of the first meal I ate in the US after three plane rides to get here from Australia.
