Good morning, Sweet Peas. Is it Wednesday already? By golly it is! I thought I would post a Not So Wordless Wednesday post with photos of early spring on the  farm. It was a cloudy day, but warm- a good day to be out and about. I hope you enjoy .

A bee trap has been put up.

Papa's old fence.

Up on the hill.

The last of the hay that will be put out .

Keep the gate closed to the other fields.

Soon the farm will be greening up , calves will be frolicking and bees will be buzzing about.  It is always a good day on the farm. Thank you for dropping by.
May your day be filled  sprinkled with sunshine!

  1. Wonderful pictures of the farm on a wordless Wednesday. I remember many quiet days spent on my grandparents' ranch. I truly believe that's where my grandmother was very happy. She didn't need people around her. She was content to tend to the chickens and such. I'm just like her. I'm a loner and don't mind being alone with my "toys". She enjoyed her "toys" as well. Thank you for letting me go down memory lane. Darlene J

    1. Good evening, dear Darlene. I am so happy this post brought back fond memories of you dear grandmother and her ranch. Those were the good ole' days weren't they? Things seemed simpler then though work on a ranch is hard work. This was my Nanny's farm. Her and Papa always sat out on the porch in the evenings. In the summertime she would be snapping green beans on the porch as we caught June bugs. Papa would be watching the cows while his cattle dog, Buddy sat at his feet. LOL. There is something about living on the farm/ ranch isn't there? I wish you a wonderful Wednesday. Hugs.

  2. I really liked the pictures of the farm.
As an urban girl, I associate the countryside with moments of relaxation and vacation, although I can imagine the huge amount of work involved.
    Have a nice day.

    1. Aah I hope that you are able to settle in and farm here soon. I just love chickens. How many does your DD have? We thought about getting some, but with our travels; it would be hard for my DD to come and take care of them. LOL. It would be nice to have fresh eggs though. Hugs and Blessings.

  12. good morning beautiful Melisa. it is always so nice to see your farm. i love it. can i come and live with you please? i'll take care of the animals, especially Rodster. gee whiz he's a big boy and i bet he's a hit with the ladies. can i ask a question please - what is a bush hog? i've never seen anything like that before. very interesting. now that the last of the hay is distributed, do the cows eat just grass? country life is so amazing. i love it. thanks so much for the wonderful pictures. i am so impressed. the room you have to roam is lovely. ah to live in the country. perhaps in my next life. praying i don't come back as an ant. have a wonderful day Melisa. blessings and hugs are coming your way.

    1. Hello sweet Debra. Oh I would just love for you to be here. The animals are a hoot; they all have their own personality. The bush hog is a farm rotary cutter. Here in the south we call it a bush hog even though that is actually a name brand for the equipment. We use it to cut weeds , tall grass and brush. Now that the grass is growing the cows are not interested in the hay so we will not put out anymore . I was watching them graze today. They seemed pretty content which warmed my heart. Hope you had a wonderful day. I spent mine quilting which was very nice. Hee! Hee! Big hugs.

    1. Aaah thank you so much, Diann. I enjoy every minute being on the farm. There are a few new calves at the other section of the farm. They have been down at the lower fields these last few weeks. Hopefully they will be moved soon so I can take photos. They are my favorite to see. Have a blessed day. Hugs.

  16. Melisa ... The farmer in me always enjoys your farm tours. It kind of goes like this ... yes, much the same as here (SW Ontario, Canada) or WOW what a difference, especially when weather related and time of year. So, today, when you showed your bush hog, I nodded with total familiarity, as was an important part of our summer fleet. I will admit, a bit of a chuckle when I started to think as to what the non farm crowd think of it? Betchya that Rodster is enjoying his Spring Flings with your Ladies!!

It is getting green pretty quickly here. Oh yes, Rodster is the king of the hill . He seems pretty gentle too. Hopefully , we will have some cute babes soon. Fingers crossed. Have a blessed and beautiful day and thank you for making my day. Hugs.
