Scrappy Four Patches

It is time to cut more strips.

Trying to use up some of my Christmas fabric.

Yep, I have started a new quilt.

Soon the  2 1/2" strips are cut down into  2 1/2" squares .

These fabrics are going to make happy four patches.

And then they will be pieced to make a scrap larger  block which I will share in a future post. But first I do need to get a few more four patches under my belt.

So what are you up to?
Have a happy scrappy day!

 As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Melisa

Thank you for the sweet visit.

  4. 4patches for the win! Always! I have turned my 4patches into 16patches as L&E and am finally seeing the numbers close to where I need them for my oldest gr'son's quilt. It will happen! I am seeing lots of different genre of 2 1/2" squares. Can't wait to see where you take these.

  7. Funny you should mention that as I'm saving up 2 1/2 inch squares also. Most are in storage but I'm still managing to acquire them as I go. Love your colors...it'll be nice and cheery!

    1. I think 2 1/2" squares are my favorite size to work with. I have been trying to cut down some of my scraps into squares. My box of that size is the biggest. Did the storms come through your area yesterday? I hope all is well. They rumbled through our area around 8 last night. Warm hugs.

  9. Hi Melisa, I am back after a 3 weeks absence. Do you think I was in vacation? Haha, WRONG:
i spent the last weeks in hospital. Nothing serious but I stumpled at my doorstep and felt.
No broken leg, but a little bone broke and so I had to learn to walk again. Everything is fine now, I walk with crutches. I read the last post and must say everything is nice and lovely, stitching, quilting, deco. Now I have time to stitch and will start one of your salt houses. Hope you had a lover Easter and send warm greetings.
    Hugs, Gabi

    1. Oh I am so sorry to hear that, Gabi. Bless your heart. Will you have to take physical therapy? It sounds like a terrible experience and very painful. Do take care of yourself as you are recovering and I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I am so honored that you will be working on one of my houses as you are recovering. I sure hope it brings you comfort. I wish you a very Happy Mother's Day and do keep me posted on how you are doing. Hugs.

  15. This is exciting, Melisa. I love the color of your rotary cutter...I know that isn't the purpose of this post but I notice the silliest things. I look forward to seeing the larger block. I would imagine the 4-patches make a good leader/ender project. Not that I am organized enough for a l/e project. Hoping to get to back my sewing machine this weekend.

    1. Oh thank you so much, Jeanna. That is a Pioneer Woman rotary cutter. I wish I had bought the other colors. I like to look at little details like that too. I have been using these 4 patches as a leader and ender. I am anxious to start piecing them into the bigger blocks. Have a very Happy Mother's Day. Hugs.
