Honey Jar- A Mason Jar Freebie

Good morning, ya'll and Happy Saturday. It has been awhile since I have visited with you.

Mr. Pinker and I are back from our camping trip. We had a very lovely time. We relaxed by the lake and Mr. Pinker even fished for a bit. He caught a couple but threw them back in.

One day we were able to visit our youngest daughter. We took her out to eat to a newly opened Whataburger. Delicious. Afterwards I asked her if she wanted to go thrift shopping with me. "Nope," she said, "I will pass". Imagine that. 😳 So after our visit, Mr. Pinker and I went  merrily on our way visiting all the thrift shops we could find.

EEeeeh! I am so excited to show you my favorite thrifty find . It is this old timey radio which does not work. I know; it looks ratty and beaten  doesn't it?  Oh, but it grabbed my heart immediately.

On the back someone wrote the date Jan. 1937. I was ecstatic to get this radio for a song and a dance. 📻💃 Well actually it was less than the cost of a hamburger.🍔 Can't beat that even if it does look like it has been drug through the wringer!

I also found some pretty plates . I need plates like I need a hole in the head, but any whoo,  I had to have them. I also got some ironstone pieces and the turkey salt shaker.

Oh be still my beating heart. ❤💗❣ A print with saltboxes, sheep and patriotic looking. I could not pass this up.

More tins and a cigar box to add to my collections.  Yep! Crusty and rusty! Just my style.

And there was no way I could pass up this red and blue scoop. It is a bit dusty, but when it is cleaned up can you imagine a wee stack of quilts in it?

Most of the items were a dollar or less.

I did take some stitching along with me when we went camping. One of those pieces was my newest Mason Jar stitch. This one is called Honey Jar.

It is a simple bee skep surrounded by flowers in a mason jar. Normally , I would have surrounded the bee skep with sunflowers , but I opted to flank the bee skep with some leggy zinnia like the ones I grow.

This is the seventh jar in the Mason jar series.

Many of you know , but I always like to leave this little disclaimer.

I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding that I  have to put each page on separate links because of the devices I use. I apologize for that.  These are images of the chart  or JPG s and not downloads.   I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs.

I finished the Honey Jar like I did the others which is into a simple pillow. I used chenille trim from Walmart to embellish it. I twisted two pieces and tacked them down. One of the chenille strips took a tea/coffee bath before being added.

Well I am so delighted that you stopped by for a visit. But guess what? I am going to be posting a 2nd post today. I know . I know You are probably thinking - Hasn't she yammered on enough?   Naaaah I could chat some more. 😀😆 Well really it might be a post that you may be interested in. I will give you a hint it is about a freebie stitch along. So if you have time drop by a little after 3:00 p.m. CST for the 2nd post. You would make my day, but I can not promise I won't chat your head off. 😀
Thank you again for the sweet visit, and as always. ..

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

  1. You found some great items thrifting. Wish I could have done more of it while in the states but also didn't want to tote a bunch of stuff back with me. Your jar projects are lovely. Have a good weekend.

    1. Aaah thank you so much, Tammy. It is always fun to go out and look for vintage treasures. I can certainly understand not wanting to travel a long distance with items though especially on a plane. I hope you have a wonderful week . Blessings and hugs.
