Hello June!

Hello there, June! How are you ? Summer will be  here very soon!

With Thy Needleworks "June" Word Play and Stone Street Stitchworks Freebie  Marching Birds

Happy June, Sunshine! How is the 1st day of June treating you thus far?   This is one of my favorite months of the year.  How about you?  The kiddos are out of school , the days are bright and sunny plus there are plenty of activities to enjoy on those long sultry days.

Hay season is just beginning.

The first few bales have been rolled.

Yesterday the youngin's wanted to go out to the barn to see the bees and all of the butterflies that are attracted to the thistle.

The little one tried on his beekeeper's vale.

The bees were doing great- just busy buzzing honey makers.šŸšŸÆšŸšŸÆšŸ

Little bumble bees were collecting pollen  from the bright purple thistle.

Speaking of bees . I finished my newest heart doodle-  a simple little bee skep with busy buzzing bees.

A Buzzy Garden with Bee Berry

I satin stitched the black stripes and heads of the bees.  I colored my block using crayons and colored pencils and then heat set the block.  My blocks are 8 1/2" square unfinished.

A Buzzy Garden

My mind is already brewing with an idea on how to set the blocks. More will be coming about that idea in the future.

  1. Hey Melisa. Earlier this week I had to reach out to someone to come and get a swarm of bees in my rose of Sharon bush. It was interesting watching her get them. There was still stragglers when we sold the house Friday. She said they would leave, sure hope they do. Hope you h@ve a great June.

    1. Oh how exciting, Patti! I am glad that they are going to a good home. We had some stragglers left behind when we moved captured our hive and moved it out to the barn. I worried about them too, but hubby said they would move on and may go back to the hive they came from. What a treat to see the swarm before you left for your new home; that will be a great memory . Happy June , sweet friend . Hugs.

  3. Love the heart doodle. I haven't done any yet. I did stitch the last snowmen blocks you shared. I need to set them together. Have you set yours together yet? I spent the first day of June putting down mulch. My grandson helped me. Have a great day.

    1. That is so funny that you mentioned the snowman blocks, Joy because I just pulled mine out last night. I have them on the table right now trying to decide how to set them. I first thought about making them into churn dashes, but I may do something different. Oh how sweet and wonderful that you had a helper in the garden. There is nothing like a grandson is there? I bet it just melted your heart having him as a helper. Have an awesome week, Joy. Hugs.

    1. I am so happy that you like the June doodle, Diann. It stitched up pretty quick too. I hope you enjoy it. I am so glad that both the grandsons are interested in learning about the bees; they ask all kinds of questions. I never knew that beekeeping vales and jackets were made so small. Thank you , sweet friend. Hugs.

  7. Sweet baby!!! Love the new Heart Block, so cute and buzzy! June is a great month for me, also. June is the month that I reorganize my thoughts and plans for the rest of the year!! Not that I actually accomplish some of my goals, but it is a good start! Warm hugs from sunny and buzzy Arizona. Butterflies and Bees are all over the garden flowers this year.

    1. The grandsons had a ball chasing butterflies in the field. I was amazed at all of the different butterflies fluttering about of all different colors. This one was very photogenic. More hay will be cut soon. This was just the 1st field. It seems all of the farmers in the neighborhood were cutting their hay this past week. Lol. The baby calf is a hoot isn't it. Have a great week, Ginny. Hugs.
