A Whole Lot of Goodness

Hiya, Sweet friends. Whatcha up to today?  A whole lot of goodness- I hope! 😀 Me - well I bet I can find something to get into. Hee! Hee!

Actually, the family will be gathering together in just a few short hours to celebrate both of my daughters' birthdays.  You can bet your bottom dollar a big slice of cake is on my agenda.

Oh my , please forgive me!  I failed to offer you a sweet treat to enjoy as we chat. Mmmm , Mmmm, good!  Strawberry Dump Cake is the dessert of the day  along with a birthday cake. Just a few more months until we will be enjoying fresh strawberries.

Strawberry Dump Cake Recipe
INGREDIENTS
1 ( 21 oz) can of strawberry pie filling
1 cup of fresh strawberries , sliced
1 box of (15.25 oz.) yellow cake mix
3/4 cup of cold butter ( 1 1/2 sticks)  sliced into square pats

DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.  Grease 9 "x 13" baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
3. Add strawberry pie filling and fresh sliced strawberries to baking dish and spread evenly.
4. Sprinkle the cake mix over the top . Cover the strawberries and pie filling completely.
5. Place the butter pats evenly  over the cake mix.  DO NOT stir the butter in.
6. Bake for 50- 60 minutes until the top is golden brown and the strawberry mixture is bubbly.  Baking time will vary by the oven.
7. ENJOY! Perhaps serve with your favorite ice cream. Yum!
8. Store any leftover dump cake in the refrigerator . It should keep from 4-5 days if it lasts that long. 😋😀

My tiered tray is decorated with chicks and even a couple of yellow Easter pigs.  Everybody needs an Easter pig. Don't you think?

Bunnies are springing up everywhere.  Have they invaded your home yet? Be very careful ! They multiply quickly!

Have you tried the Duncan Hines Dolly Parton's cake mixes yet? She has several different mixes available .  Mom bought the Banana Cake mix and made Banana Bread it was delicious and very moist.
I will have to get her recipe.

I picked up the vintage Pyrex mixing bowl at the thrift store the other night. I was doing the Happy Dance!

Today I will be adding this small quilt into the hoop. I made it last year from the scraps leftover from Darlene's Quilt .
Lots of pretty reproduction fabrics in this wee quilt.

There are 20  4 1/2" blocks in this quilt.

Darlene's Quilt still needs to go into the hoop as well.

Darlene's Quilt inspired by my sweet friend , Darlene. Hi Darlene. 🤗

Once the youngin's leave, I hope to cozy up  on the couch  and work on  a new Spring piece called "Spring March" . I am dreaming of a drum finish for it , but we shall see.

Well that's what's going on in my neck of the woods- parties, baking , quilting and stitching- like I said a whole lot of goodness!

Thank you for dropping by for a visit on this very special day.

Whoa there Nelly ! Hold the phone!!!  I can not let you leave without sharing a little giftie with you!!

Can  I interest you in a  little Strawberry Shortcake Stamp ? It's a Choose Your own Colors chart.
I hope you enjoy!

  1. Enjoy the time with your family! We're going to have the grandsons here this afternoon. I'm pulling a pan of cinnamon rolls out of the freezer for our snack. A zap in the microwave and they'll taste fresh baked. Besides the time change, we've got snow this morning! Happy stitching!

  16. Oh Yum...that cake looks super yummy...Tomorrow is actually my 55th Birthday and I made my own cake today...just a yellow cake mix but made my own chocolate frosting from scratch...The recipe that has been on the Hershey Cocoa powder can for as long as I can remember. Thanks so much for the stitcheries...I have a Pinker Punkin project zipper bag that I keep all of your patterns in as I print them out... I'm finding it easier to save the image and print it from my saved image as it looks more defined and easier to read! I'm even getting ready to tea dye my 14 count fabrics as that's my favorite to stitch on...Happy Birthday to your daughters! March birthdays are THE BEST! 😊

I will have to ask who the designer is. If I find out, I will post it. It sort of looks like a Prairie Schooler, but I am not sure. Thank you for the sweet visit and happy stitching. Hugs.

  20. Happy B'Day to both your daughters! Lucky you, to have them close enough to celebrate with. The strawberry cake looks right up my son's alley. Strawberries are a favorite of his. Plus, you topped it off with a really darling stamp for us! The new in-progress stitch with the happy little robins looks to be very special! You are really somethin'! Thank you so much! I so enjoy all the little details in your photos you set up and snap a pic for. So many things that sparked memories today. The spectacles look like my grandpa's and the Zippo lighter could be my dad's. The shoe form reminds me of a friend of my father's who collected those and worked in a custom shoe store. Have a great time with your family!
