Buzz ! Buzz! Buzz! 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
For 4 months now a block has been buzzing away in my head- "Saying make me! Make me!" And it all started way back in February when sweet Linda of Texas Quilt Gal blogspot shared her Stay At Home Round Robin quilt in progress. As soon as I saw her Puss in the Corner block, I was smitten, and I knew I wanted to make a few.

OOOPS In my previous February 1, 2025 post about my Winter Stamp Collection , I failed to post the link for Stamp 3 called Sledding Friends Stamp. I have since went back and corrected it. On Wednesdays , I am working on stitching the pin pillows to this collection.

I LOVE that red and black fabric! It almost looks like something from years ago. I look forward to seeing it completed!
ReplyDeleteYour Bonnie Hunter leader and ender project is really nice. I have so many scraps that I'm thinking it would be a perfect pattern for them. Will have to wait until I get home.
I'm going to be working on some small projects that Villa Rosa is doing. I didn't have a lot of room to bring things with me so I'll be working on some smalls - a scarf, a pillow, snack mats, and a table runner. Here's the site if interested. It's the small project summer challenge

Blessings!
Good Wednesday morning, Donna. I love Villa Rosa patterns- I have done a couple in the past. I did not know about the summer challenge so I had to hop over to visit. This sounds like a whole lot of fun and I already have seen a pattern that I am interested in. Thank you so much for telling me about it. Keep me posted on the progress you make.It sounds like you are going to be one busy gal and with traveling upon that! Have loads of fun! You make me miss the wide open road with projects in tote. Hee! Hee! Hugs.
DeleteYour farm themed fabric works perfectly for that block. I look foward to seeing the top come together. I have too many things buzzing in my ear...but need to finish some things first. Have a great day, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Jeanna. I hope to go through my stash to see what else I may be able to add to the farm quilt. I look forward to seeing your progress on the quilts you have been working on. It is good to hear that you have another project buzzing in your ear for the next one. Hee! Hee! Hugs.
DeleteOh I feel famous - lol! Glad my blocks inspired buzzing. :D How fun is that fabric? Your blocks look so cute, love the chick fabric and the black and red and white. My husband took care of pigs when he was a youngster and still has an abiding adoration for anything pig. Seeing your fabric makes me think I should make him a pig quilt! Yes you are right, no time like the present, but I keep getting interrupted with other things! That chicken cross stitch is adorable!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I have been thinking of your quilt ever since I saw it, Linda. Thank you so much for the sweet inspiration. I am having a whole lot of fun working on this quilt. I hope to get a few more blocks pieced today. Aah a pig quilt for hubby would be fabulous. I bet hubby would like that ; it would bring back lots of fond memories. How's the progress on the Barbie quilt going? I am smitten with that quilt too. I hope you have a lovely day. It is sunny and warm here. Stay cool . Hugs.

ReplyDeleteAaah shucks, Connie, you are so very welcome and thank you for bringing a smile to my day. I am so sorry to hear that you are going through one of those valleys in life; just try to stay positive which I am sure you are. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers . It means the world to me that my blog is a little bright spot ; I cannot thank you enough. This is a little haven for me too; it is a blessing to meet other like minded kindred friends. I wish you a beautiful day. And thank you again for the sweet visit. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteYour four patch fun is coming along. It's almost time for a new leader/ender challenge (I hope Bonnie does one this year.). The red/black/white theme and fabrics are soooo cute! Pigs... my farmer brother that took over the family farm had 1,000 to 1,200 pigs at a time. It was a lot helping him. It was a learning and bonding time. I also learned at that time that horses and pigs are enemies. I had a young stud that I raised when my other horse birthed him. He HATED pigs. Oh the memories of him getting to the top of the hill on the lane and refusing to go and rearing up and such. I would carry a water balloon with me each time we went up the hill. Another horse person told me that when he reared up to hit him in the head with a water balloon. I think I hit the target about the 20th time we went up the hill. It didn't work but I kept trying...
ReplyDeleteThanks for jogging that little memory in my brain and making me smile and letting me rant on your blog. HUGS!!!
Good morning, Kathy. Aaw what a wonderful memory of your family farm. Wow that was a lot of pigs. I can imagine all of the work that went into them, but what fabulous memories of spending time with the family. I did not know that horses hated pigs so much- so interesting. I can only imagine you walking up on the hill with a balloon in hand waiting for the horse to rear up. I imagine that would be frightening as a child, but I say you were determined for him to settle down. We used to visit a big pig farm ( that's where we would purchase our small ones) . I would marvel at all of the sows walking in the field - there must of been 100's and then there were the large pig barns. It was fascinating to me. Pigs have always been one of my favorite farm animals. I always wanted a pet pig of my own. I do miss having those little oinkers around. Hubby retired from the pig business 2 1/2 years ago. I think he misses it too. Thank you for the sweet visit and for brightening my day. I just loved hearing about your farm adventures. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteBuzz, Buzz. . .sometimes ideas do come exactly like that! What an awesome group of winnings er fabrics. You are making such pretty blocks out of them!
ReplyDeleteLOL don't the best ideas come to you that way. Hee! Hee! I am having a great time working on the blocks. I hope to add a few more to the wee stack of 4 today. Have a beautiful day, Terry and thank you for the sweet Wednesday visit. Hugs.
DeleteWhat a fun fabric collection to work with! You have some fun focus fabrics in that fat quarter collection. I've been doing a pretty good job of avoiding any squirrels. I'll get to start a new mystery quilt in the fall, so I'm trying to focus on that and stick with the UFOs till then.
ReplyDeleteOh Kate, I just admire your dedication to getting those UFOs done. I do need to do the same with mine. I have a few just sitting and staring at me, but then a new project creeps into my head and there I go again! Hee! Hee! These farm fabrics are right up my alley. The chicken and barn fabrics are a hoot. Have a beautiful day and Happy quilting. Hugs.
DeleteThese fabrics are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAren't they fun? I am so glad I spied them for these blocks. It is going to be a wonderful summer time project to work on. My goal is to piece 10 more today. We shall see though. Thank you for the sweet Wednesday visit. Have a beautiful day. Hugs.
DeleteThank you for the cute little clucky hen. The puss in the corner blocks are making up just perfectly with that fun fabric collection. I was thinking that I might be tempted to add pink to the mix to accent the pigs when you mentioned the blue. The 4patch Fun quilt is so lively and colorful. The perfect scrapbuster. Either one of those are perfect for L&E. I always have ideas buzzing around in my head on what I dhould start. You are so much better at acting on those buzzings! 😉
ReplyDeleteOooh pink would be a great idea to add to the mix, Ginny. Thank you so much for the suggestion. I think I have some pink bandana fabric in my stash- that looks sorta "farmy" too. I am going on a search. I also thought about a dab of yellow. Hmmm my mind is brewing again. Hee! Hee! Oh , I just love the scrapbuster quilts don't you? I cut out more pieces for the 4 patch fun last night. I hope you are having a great day. We finally got some sun today. Big hugs from the holler.
