It's a Start and a Doodle!

 Buzz ! Buzz! Buzz!   ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

For 4 months now a block has been buzzing away in my head- "Saying make me! Make me!" And it all started way back in February when sweet Linda of Texas Quilt Gal blogspot  shared her Stay At Home Round Robin quilt in progress. As soon as I saw her Puss in the Corner block, I was smitten, and I knew I wanted to make a few.

The other day,  I could not take the buzzing any longer, I hopped, skipped, and jumped to my quilting room . After much debate, my eagle eye spotted the beautiful bundle of fat quarters that , dear Jennifer of The Inquiring Quilter sent me  a few years ago in a giveaway.

Timeless Treasures  "The Coop Collection"

I had been saving them as I built up a stash of more "farm themed" fabrics.

Oink! Oink! This fabric reminds me of our days raising pigs! ❤๐Ÿท

"Today is the day," I crooned to them as I lovingly scooped the Timeless Treasures fabrics up into my hands. They smiled happily.

Here Chick , Chick! Isn't this fabric precious?

Soon I was off to the cutting table with pretty fabrics in hand and sweet friends on my mind.

The fabrics are cut for the 1st block.

Block Size: (Unfinished) 8 1/2" x 8 1/2"

CUTTING:
Cut 4 - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" fabric  A
Cut 4-  2 1/2" x 4 1/2" fabric B
Cut 1- 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" fabric C

Four blocks are now made. More will come later.

Perhaps I will add some other colors from the wee "farm collection" that I have been gathering. Hmmm maybe some blues.

This may be a new leader/ ender project.

Oh shucks , that reminds me - I do need to pick up my speed on the Four Patch Fun quilt. This was Bonnie Hunter's 2025 Leader / Ender design.

I am piecing my blocks using 2 1/2" units. (unfinished)

❤  A little Doodle just for you!
Use for applique, coloring, embroidery or whatever your dream up!

❤ My doodles are hand drawn and are never perfect.

So tell me . Do you have a project buzzing about in your head - just begging to be started? Buzz! Buzz!

There is no time like the present!  Hee! Hee!

๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

Thank you for the sweet visit. I am off to piece more blocks.

As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

  1. I LOVE that red and black fabric! It almost looks like something from years ago. I look forward to seeing it completed!
Your Bonnie Hunter leader and ender project is really nice. I have so many scraps that I'm thinking it would be a perfect pattern for them. Will have to wait until I get home.
I'm going to be working on some small projects that Villa Rosa is doing. I didn't have a lot of room to bring things with me so I'll be working on some smalls - a scarf, a pillow, snack mats, and a table runner. Here's the site if interested. It's the small project summer challenge

  2. Your farm themed fabric works perfectly for that block. I look foward to seeing the top come together. I have too many things buzzing in my ear...but need to finish some things first. Have a great day, Melisa!

  3. Oh I feel famous - lol! Glad my blocks inspired buzzing. :D How fun is that fabric? Your blocks look so cute, love the chick fabric and the black and red and white. My husband took care of pigs when he was a youngster and still has an abiding adoration for anything pig. Seeing your fabric makes me think I should make him a pig quilt! Yes you are right, no time like the present, but I keep getting interrupted with other things! That chicken cross stitch is adorable!

  5. Your four patch fun is coming along. It's almost time for a new leader/ender challenge (I hope Bonnie does one this year.). The red/black/white theme and fabrics are soooo cute! Pigs... my farmer brother that took over the family farm had 1,000 to 1,200 pigs at a time. It was a lot helping him. It was a learning and bonding time. I also learned at that time that horses and pigs are enemies. I had a young stud that I raised when my other horse birthed him. He HATED pigs. Oh the memories of him getting to the top of the hill on the lane and refusing to go and rearing up and such. I would carry a water balloon with me each time we went up the hill. Another horse person told me that when he reared up to hit him in the head with a water balloon. I think I hit the target about the 20th time we went up the hill. It didn't work but I kept trying...
Thanks for jogging that little memory in my brain and making me smile and letting me rant on your blog. HUGS!!!
