Mary Elizabeth Coat's Winter Saltbox- House Freebie

There is something about a blue house that has always made my heart skip a beat!

Good Monday morning, Sweetness. How was your weekend? Mine? Well, I have to admit it was  pretty relaxing. Yesterday , I spent most of my time  working on Tumbleweeds. I moved the hoop . It will not be long before 20% of the quilt is completed.  Yee Haw!

I did finish my newest saltbox which is surrounded by blue stars and little snowflakes. Quite wintery looking if I do say so myself.

Alas, I did not bring my "finishing supplies" to fully finish it into a pin pillow, but that is ok I will get to it in due time.

This little saltbox is called Mary Elizabeth Coat's Winter Saltbox and is named after one of my distant relatives . I never knew Miss Mary, but I would like to think that she would enjoy living in a little blue house surrounded by her 6 rambunctious children.

I stitched Mary Elizabeth Coat's Winter Saltbox on 14 count tea/ coffee dyed Aida that I dyed myself. The design size is 67 x 67 which on 14 count  Aida measures around 4 3/4" squared.

The snowflakes are perfect for the winter storm we are having - 8 to 11 inches in this area of Missouri. Enjoy the warmer climate. Hugs Alicia

  8. What a beautiful blue house to add to the neighborhood, Melisa! Winter Storm Fern left us with 4-5 inches of snow with sleet on top of the snow and a very thin layer of ice. It will be around for a while because the week won't get above freezing. Enjoy your Monday!

  17. good morning beautiful Melisa.
i just love your blue house. i would love to live in a blue house because blue is my favorite color. thank you so much for your tiny winter's day house. i have got them both in my file.
you are certainly traveling and traveling. your itchy traveling feet must have rubbed off on mr. pinker. mr. pinker is quite the tour guide. i love it.
i had my back surgery on friday and i have been in horrible pain. i think when they moved me from the bed they rolled me into the operating room on they must have grabbed my rib under my boob somehow. maybe i was slipping, i don't know. all of this is on the left side and it is my rib, my back near the spinal cord, my butt, and down my leg. not the sciatic pain i had previously, but the pain that you get when you favor a certain part of your body. geez!!! i didn't think this surgery was going to be this painful. i just want to scream. can i come and join you in the desert and scream my big, scary heart out? heehee
next up is a total knee replacement on april 10th. should i throw in the towel and not go for it? i am not good at handling pain. i have a high tolerance for pain, but this is really testing me. i know that God doesn't give you more than you can handle, but please Lord give me some cushioning. heehee
i am so happy you have the capability to get out and tour the good ol' USA. there is so much beauty and so much history in this country. hap hap happy that both you and mr. pinker can get out there together.
all of your quilts and cross stitch pieces that you have been sharing are absolutely awesome. i love it!!! you are a very talented and creative young lady Melisa.
enjoy your traveling days. stay safe.
blessings and love are on the way to you.
a great big squeezy bear hug is holding you right now. can you feel it?
