Good Tuesday morning, Sweet Peas .
We have rain in the forecast all week. It just breaks my heart to hear of all of the suffering and loss due to the torrential rains in Texas. In fact , it is hard to see the photos; I cannot imagine the devastation. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected. 🙏
Here in the holler, the summer rain will be welcomed though. Usually this time of the year they are just short pop up showers. The sprinkles will cut down my watering time in the gardens. Though I do admit, summer rain does leave a bit of mugginess in the air.
For the last few days, the garden has been my home! Yep, I have been spending every minute in them, pulling weeds, deadheading flowers and tending to the veggies.

Hi, this post brought a good laugh to me. The first pic showed a little cow, moo moo, nearly the same is in my kitchen. I found it when I was in the Netherlands together with my daughter. Yes it is a great disaster what's going on in Texas. I am so sorry for all the people and much more for the parents. Not much rain here in Germany. In my part they said rain for 2 says. But where???? We had some dark clouds and very little rain. You could count the drops. The forecast says more warm weather is coming.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day, Gabi
I came to see what you're presenting today and to wish you a happy Tuesday, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteI like your patriotic decor and I adore that new graphic of the garden being my home...I yearn for a small garden in the city.
In the summer, I practically live off salads and dressings, because that's where we meet.
A big hug to everyone affected by the Texas floods...a Big disgrace.
Hugs
Your quilt blocks are looking good, Melisa. Heat, humidity, and possibility of showers/storms are in our forecast all week here as well. Makes for some good stitching time. Stay cool and hydrated!
ReplyDeleteThe watermelon decor will be very nice, perfect for the hot muggy days of July and August.
ReplyDeleteWe have been getting rain too, and it for sure leaves it humid. Just last night I told DH that at least we don't have to water anything then. Your kitchen sink blocks will be a very cute quilt. My heart is heavy for all the lives lost and devastation in Texas, I can't imagine.
ReplyDeleteDouble Stuff is so pretty! Your fresh salads sound wonderful. Hope you get lots of good rain and low temps this week.
ReplyDeleteI have decided to stop watching videos and looking at photos of the devastation in central Texas and simply pray and send my positive thoughts. I was watching a video of the roaring Guadalupe last night and heard someone say "there's a cat", and I had to stop watching. I cannot handle thinking about those helpless critters that perished - along with children and couples and all those caught up in the catastrophic flooding. It is unthinkable.
I have a Quaker Oats tin on my shelf in the kitchen because I still use the oatmeal cookie recipe that is on the back. I took a sharpie and made notes on the tin with my changes to the recipe.
ReplyDeleteThis time of year the sentiment on your stitchery is spot on! Your kitchen sink books look great together!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteWhere is the Jane Shuff sampler from in your hutch?
ReplyDeleteLike you, my heart goes out to those poor flood victims in Texas. The thought of all those innocent girls and their families just breaks my heart. I have been driven to tears as I've read some of the stories--just can't imagine. It's raining here today, but only lightly. Hope you get the rain you need without any troubles. I look forward to seeing your Hum of the Bees piece take shape :) Take care now and enjoy your week ♥
