Happy Memorial Day

It is supposed to rain today, but we will still enjoy a cookout with the family.

Good morning, Sweet Friends and Happy Monday. Today is Memorial Day and I will begin my day just like everyday - that is with a drive to the cemetery to visit my sister and grandparents. It warmed my heart yesterday when I spotted a flag on my Great Uncles' graves. I scanned the cemetery and then saw other flags for the veterans who have passed.

My great uncle who died while in service in 1943 .

I will be saying a prayer for all of those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country and the freedoms that we enjoy today.

I would also like to thank all of the men and women who  are serving or who have served in the armed forces. You are heroes!

I will be finishing Besty Ross Flag Co. into a pin pillow. Thank you , dear Joan for gifting me the chart.

Alrighty y'all,  I better fire up that grill. The youngin's will be here soon, and I am sure the will be huuuungry!  Have a wonderful day  and...

As always...

Happy quilting and stitching, ya'll

  12. Happy Memorial Day, Melisa! Love the photo of your great-uncle. It rained like crazy at the cemetery while they read the 400 veteran's names buried there, including my dad. It cleared up for the big family picnic!!

    1. It is moving to see the flags. This is the 1st time that I have seen the flags at this cemetery . Usually just the families add the flags. It was so nice to see that all of the veterans that were known about had a flag on their grave. Thank you for the sweet visit, Ginny. Hugs.
