My latest thrifty find is the "Welcome" needlework from the dime table at the thrift store. |
It has been a spell since our last visit hasn't it? Well it is still travel season for Mr. Pinker and I . We have been taking it easy and enjoying the last days of September. In between the adventures, we have also been visiting family some of which has been sick and in the hospital. Thankfully, they are out and doing better with each passing day.
Over the weekend, little daredevil Mr. R. , my oldest grandson , broke 2 bones in his arm while riding his skooter. Eeek and Ouch!
He flew over the handlebars while rounding a curve. He has an appointment with an orthopedic doctor tomorrow. Poor baby. Mr. Pinker had an appointment with his doctor yesterday- he broke his arm too while camping in NC a few weeks ago.
Hmmm, what else is going on . 🤔
Oh, we have some new additions to the farm!
Meet Mutt who is one of Molly's new babies! Isn't he cute and teeny?
Here comes Molly with one of her new babies! |
Baby Jeff is not far away. Yep , Molly had twins! Can you guess who the dad is? Ole' Rodster!
Little Jeff. Look at that adorable face! 😊🐮 |
All three are fiercely independent and spend much of their time away from one another except when the twins want to eat. Bless their cute hearts!
Molly and her twins have been getting the extra special treatment in a pasture all to their own where a close eye is kept on them.
Jeff is ready for a nap. |
While roaming the roads this past week or so, I picked up some yardage for a quilt that I have been working on. The butterfly fabric will be perfect for my Pretty in Peach butterflies quilt that I began in January of this year.
New fabric purchased for my Pretty in Peach Butterfly quilt. |
I will pull more fabrics today and begin making the secondary blocks for the new butterfly quilt.
Pretty in Peach Butterflies appliqued while in Quartzsite. |
I do apologize for being behind on visiting lovely blogging friends and checking messages; it may take me a few days to catch up. Sometimes, I am as slow as molasses. 😉
As Always...

So glad to have you back again, Melisa! I'm so sorry to hear about both Mr. R and Mr. Pinker breaking things, though. I've done that, too, and it is no fun! I hope they both heal quickly. That butterfly fabric is gorgeous - so perfect for you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, Diann. Thank you so much for the well wishes for the boys. Accidents happen; I am glad that it was not worse for them both. Hopefully, they will be filling as fit as fiddle in a few weeks. Isn't that a pretty fabric? It was just what I needed to get me back into my butterfly quilt. Have a great evening. Hugs.
DeleteAww... that is a shame about your grandson and husband, Melisa! I hope they both heal quickly and thoroughly. It sounds very painful! Molly's twins are adorable--what fun that will be to watch them grow. I hope you're all rested up after your time away (although sometimes I think vacations are more tiring than simply being at home--ha ha!). Happy October to you! ♥
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Carol. I believe my grandson will get his hard cast tomorrow- Bless his heart. He has been a good little patient though. Hopefully, both he and my hubby will heal quickly. We were thrilled to pieces when Molly had twins. The photos do not do them justice in respect to how cute and teeny they are. Oh yes, we are well rested. It is always nice to have a bit of time away isn't it. Have a blessed evening. Hugs.
DeleteSorry to hear about those broken limbs--not fun at all...Hope they heal quickly and well.
ReplyDeleteI like your new butterfly fabric and the blocks is so pretty...Welcome home hugs, julierose
Oh thank you so much, Julierose. The little one went to the doctor today to get his cast . He is a little daredevil. LOL. I am just in love with the butterfly fabric. I ended up getting 3 yards for other projects too. Have a beautiful day. Hugs.
DeleteWelcome home! I'm glad the broken arms are healing. Does Mr. Pinker have at least as good a story about his broken arm as Mr. R has? I like you latest fabric acquisition!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Terry. It is nice to get away for a spell. We still have another trip planned here shortly. LOL Mr. Pinker hurts his while swinging a hatchet as he made his way up the mountain and threw the forest. It was pretty dense with shrubs. Thankfully his was not worse. I hope you are having a great day. It is sunny and warm here. Hugs and Blessings
DeleteWelcome back, hope everything is better now and they get healed as fast as possible and with no issues. Hope you are also ok.
ReplyDeleteBlog de Bea- recomendaciones, animes, juegos & más!.
Aaaah thank you so much, Beatriz. I think everyone is on the mend now. It is always hair raising when one gets hurt and others become sick. It seems like everything happens at once. The few days of rest was good between that though. I wish you the most delightful day and thank you again for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteHello - who are you and why are you impersonating Miz Melisa???
ReplyDeleteOh, wait a minute it is you!! WooHoo!
Mr P and a grandson with broken arms???? Sending lots of healing thoughts and big old hugs.
The baby calves are adorable. Brought back so many memories of my grandparents and their herd.
Big Hugs, dear friend, DarleneJ
Hee Hee! It has been a minute since I visited hasn't it? My how time slips away .I hope you have been doing well. Did you get affected by any of the rain here recently? It sounds like it was a gully washer in some places. Oh yes, both of my boys are down, but at least the little grandson who is a hoot is still running strong. LOL Mr. P and little R will be back in the swing of things soon. The calves are growing up a storm. They are funny little fellas. I was watching them yesterday lounging among the shade trees. Thank you for the sweet Thursday giggles , dear Darlene. Have a beautiful day and hope you are getting in some sewing time Hugs from hot holler.
DeleteI'm glad you're back and welcome to the blog, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteI hope your injured kids are feeling better. I wish you a happy October.
Hugs
Oh thank you so much, dear Isabel. It feels good to be back. Yes, I think the fellas are doing better. The pain has subsided in both. The casts are uncomfortable though which is to be expected. Hopefully they will be as fit as a fiddle here soon. I wish you a blessed and beautiful October. It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of the year isn't it? Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteI'm sorry Mr R and Mr Pinker have had mishaps and hope they heal quickly. Love the photos of the little ones and their mama! Your fabric is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, dear Linda. Accidents happen and it seems like everything takes place at once, but they are feeling better . Isn't the babies the cutest? These are Molly's first babes ; they are a hoot to watch. I hope you are having a lovely day and it is not too hot in your neck of the woods. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteWelcome back. I hope Mr. R and Mr. Pinker’s bones heal quickly. Finding fabrics while traveling is such fun. I can’t wait to see what you do with the butterfly fabric. The calves are cute - mom will be busy. Enjoy the rest of the week. Alicia
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Alicia. It feels good to be back. I took a photo of the fellas the other day in their slings- Bless their hearts, but they are doing well. It is fun to pick up fabric when traveling; I always feel like it is a little souvenir. LOL. Have a beautiful and blessed day and Happy stitching, dear. Hugs.
DeleteWelcome Home! Sorry to hear about the broken bone. Hope he heals quickly. Your little ones are so cute and I like your fabric souvenirs! :)
ReplyDeleteAaaah thank you so much for the sweet well wishes , Pat. The boys are doing fine though they are a little uncomfortable. I think the little one will have to wear a cast until December that is if he doesn't have to have surgery. There is always something isn't there. Aren't those calves as cute as a button? The photos do not do them justice. I hope you are enjoying your day and I wish you a very productive and blessed month of October. Hugs.
DeleteOh no so sorry about all the broken bones, did you have to drive home from vacay then? Hope they both heal up quickly.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Vicki. Mr. P. ended up driving and of course him being stubborn fella , it took a couple of days before he would go to the doctor. LOL. He is a tough fella though LOL. He is still hustling and bustling in the woods and on the tractor. Have a beautiful day and enjoy your time in the quilt room. Happy Happy October. Hugs.
DeleteWelcome back home, Melisa! So sorry to hear about the broken bones for both Mr. Pinker and Mr. R. Praying for a speedy and complete recovery for both. Oh how I enjoyed seeing those cute twin calves. They are beautiful! Love that you named the Mutt and Jeff! LOL So cute. Your new butterfly fabric is lovely and I look forward to seeing your quilt. Have a lovely rest of your week. Hugs, B
ReplyDeleteAaaw thank you so much, Brenda for the sweet visit and well wishes. I think the fellas are on the mend though they are a little uncomfortable. It has been a hoot to watch Molly and her babies. Mutt and Jeff are little characters . You would think that they would all stay together, but they do their own thing - they are as cute as a button though. Have a wonderful time working away in your quilt room. Warm October hugs.
DeleteSo glad to hear from you. Welcome home. Mutt & Jeff - what cute names for a set of twins. Both boys? OMGoodness! Two fellas sporting casts? Glad to hear they are on the mend. Great thrifty find. Can't beat that price. Sounds like vacation was interesting. Hope all is well now with family. I have decided this weekend is the end of the garden and am planning on ripping everything up and out. The green tomatoes will be gathered to ripen in windowsills, carrots and beets dug and processed, winter squash set to cure, and all plant life cleared out for the fall. Thank goodness for my son who will help.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Ginny. It is good to be home . Oh yes, Mutt and Jeff are two boys. Jeff looks a lot like his dad. The photos do not do them justice on how cute and teeny they are , but they are growing like a weed. Mr. P. and Mr. R are doing good though with their cast. Bless their hearts. Oh I just love the dime table at our thrift store . When I went to check out with my 6 items, Mr. Pinker was surprised by the price. LOL. I know your garden has kept you very busy this year. You had a good run on your tomatoes too. Those last ones will be extra yummy. We are still getting a few green and jalapeno peppers. All the rest is done with. I will try to save a few pepper plants in the greenhouse like I did last year. Maybe a tomato plant too. We shall see. It is so wonderful that your son is there to help you with all of the gardening and chores. It really makes a difference. Sending you warm hugs and Blessings and Happy October, Ginny.
DeleteHi 👋 Oh my - those broken bones - yikes! Hope they heal quickly! I was wondering if you think you might ever design a Summer SAL like the Spring, Summer, Winter ones you’ve designed? I’ve stitched the winter one and fully finished it. Started stitching the Spring one. Have the autumn one kitted up. Hoping for a Summer theme SAL to complete the 4 seasons. 🤞🤞. Thank you. My best, Barbara
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Thursday, Barbara. I hope you are having a very lovely day. Thank you so much for the sweet well wishes for the boys. Hopefully they will be back in the swing of things very soon. Oh yes, I have ideas written down for the summer SAL and I meant to do it this year, but for some reason got stalled in respect to my creative juices. LOL. I am hoping I can get back to it soon. I already have my fabrics dyed. I am not sure whether it should be a modge podge of summer stamps or themed like sunflowers / bees and such. Hmmm, you got me thinking though .Maybe it would be fun to do a summer SAL for the winter. LOL. Thank you for the sweet encouragement; I think I will look back over my notes about it today. Also I cannot thank you enough for stitching my other stamps. I am so very honored and grateful. Sending you warm hugs and Blessings. Have a great day.
DeleteOh, Melisa! I'm so sorry to hear your hubby and grandson broke their arms. That is horrible. I'm sending prayers for quick healing. You found some pretty fabrics while traveling. The butterfly block is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is healing up and got good reports from the doctor. Broken arms are no fun at all. How cool that you got twins, but they keep their mom pretty busy.
