Made Out Like a Bandit and a Prim Bee Skep Doodle

Did I show y'all my yarn haul?🧶🧶🧶
Welcome y'all and Happy Hump Day!

Well a few weeks ago I was  minding my own business taking a leisurely stroll in the Goodwill when all of a sudden a cart sporting a bunch of yarn rolled my way. 😁🧶🧶🧶I tried my darndest to look away, but I was slowly drawn into the colors.

Oooh they are so so pretty I thought. "Walk away! " I told myself , but the allure of those fibers just pulled me right in. Well what will it hurt to take a look I reasoned So over to the cart I went. My eyes twitched when I saw the price?

Eeeh! I think I need some yarn! ( No not really,  but I chatted with myself . "Self, I think I should buy some of the yarn , besides I can try to teach the grandsons and nephews how to crochet with what limited knowledge I have."-  Well, that is what I told myself, but I knew good and well they were for me too.😀)   So in two blinks of a lamb's tail,  I threw some skeins in my cart and made out like a bandit. Hee! Hee!😁😀

Then a couple of days later we were in another thrift store when  Ole' Mr. Pinker  came to my cart with a smile on his face toting a bag of more yarn.  "Would you like this? " he asked.

Mr. Pinker found this bag of wool yarn.

Oh bother,   do I dare? Again I caved into the desire and bought the bag.
Pretty wool yarns in this thirfted bag.

Soooo. that brings me to my next project. It has been awhile since I have done any rug punch. I pulled out my  Monk's cloth and chose some of those pretty yarns  and drew out a picture.

Bee Skep loosely drawn on Monks cloth.

And soon a new project was in the works.
Working on the backside.

It is quite primitive which suits my fancy fine!

This is the front side.

Now are the loops even ? No.🤷 Is it neat as a pin ? Nope again!

But I am happy as a pig in mud with my finish.

Prim Bee Skep is finished.

The other day, dear Nancy on IG, showed her beautifully stitched ornaments that she had just finished. I was smitten.❤ I finished stitching the first of two in
Herrschners Winter's Night Music Boxes which are freebies and available on their website. I will begin the 2nd one today. I used DMC 221 on this stitch.

The thrifted bag of yarn also held threads and floss.

    1. Oh Gabi, I am the same way. There is something about wool that pulls me right on in. I do need to use my wool more often. I am hoping to start something new maybe this evening- it will make me feel a little less guilty for the acquisitions. LOL. Hugs and Blessings.

  3. Hi I have had to stop buying wool because my hands have gotten weaker and knitting or crochet make it worse. So now its just hand stitching left and of course cross stitching too. Love when you show your exhibits! Take care and happy stitching. From a cold winter's day in South Africa

    1. Oh I am so sorry to hear that Susan. I bet there is a part of you that misses using those fibers. I am so glad to hear that you can enjoy hand stitching and cross stitch though. You sound like me - always keeping your hands busy. I did not know that it is winter in South Africa. Do stay warm and cozy. Thank you for the sweet Wednesday visit. Hugs and Blessings.

    1. I thought I just may get out of the thrift store empty handed until they rolled out the cart of wool. LOL. It was piled full so I just chose some of my favorites and left the rest for others. I was over the moon though. Thank you for dropping by dear Isabel. Hugs and Blessings.

    1. LOL I think you are so right, Alycia. The workers rolled out the cart just as I was about to leave and I thought I was going to leave with nothing- little did I know. LOL but at least they were cheap, cheap , cheap and the colors are my cup of tea. I wish you a great afternoon and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
