Maude Belle's Garden Home - A House Freebie

This is just a quick pop in to say howdy and to wish you a fabulous day!  šŸ¤—

I have a new house to share.

It is called Maude Belle's Garden Home. It is in memory of my great grandma  who lived in a humble home in the great state of  Kentucky. I never met Great Grandma Maude, but I do have fond memories of  listening to my  Granny chat with her over the phone.

I would like to imagine that Great Grandma Maude had a lovely garden surrounding her home. šŸ„€šŸŽ•šŸ„€šŸ’®

I am not sure if she did have a garden, but I know my Granny liked to plant flowers . Perhaps she got the love for gardening from her mom, Maude.

I included an odd little dog which is named Sadie; it is carefully taking a stroll on the large flower vine.
Granny always named every stray dog ,  Sadie.

Hmm I wonder if Great Grandma Maude had any animals. šŸ¤”I am not sure, but in her stitched garden, she has a dog and birdies.

  2. My Mom's middle name was Maud, she never liked it - lol! How many tomatoes and what kind are you planting?

    1. Aaaw isn't that the way it goes sometimes with middle names. My Nanny never liked hers as well. We worked out fingers to the bone today, Linda. LOL. I think we planted around 40 tomato plants so far. Several different tommie toe varieties, Brandywine, Better Boy and I think we are going to try to find some Cherokee Purple. We also planted a lot of peppers. Tomorrow is cucumbers, squash and zucchini. Fingers crossed our garden will do good. It is always a hit or miss for me. Thank you for the sweet Tuesday visit. Hugs.

  3. A beautiful stitch Melisa! Love these colours. I love how you name your pieces after your family members, that’s so sweet. ☺️
Good luck with your tomato planting. We have lots to do in the garden, but especially planting up last year’s dahlias. šŸ˜šŸ‘šŸ™‹‍♀️šŸ‘‹šŸ’œšŸ©·šŸ’œšŸ©· Barbara @flashinscissors šŸ¤—šŸ™‹‍♀️šŸ’œšŸ©·

    1. Aaw thank you so much, Barbara. It always makes the pieces a little more special for me when I create one with an ancestor in mind. I bet you are anxious to work in your garden. I wish you the best in planting your dahlias. I haven't grown those in years. I do need to try to grow them again. I hope you are enjoying some stitching in the garden time. Have a blessed day. Hugs

  10. good morning sweet Melisa.
thank you so much for the freebie Maude Belle's Garden Home. thank you, too, for making the black and white copy a split pattern with larger symbols. i love it. i can see you my prettie!!!
there is one little tiny green tomato on my large red husky cherry plant. i wonder if it will get larger and produce a tomato or if it's a little stinker, a trickster you may call it.
my plants are twice as big as they were and i am soooooo excited. this is the first time i have followed "directions" from an experienced salesperson from Home Depot. she told me what to purchase, the pots to get and that i'd have bunches and bunches of tomatoes. i'm so excited. i can't wait. get your "maters" in the ground Miss Melisa and Mr. Pinker. they are going to be so wonderful. nothing better than homegrown.
i hope you have an awesome day Melisa. it's going to be a glorious day. i can't wait for it to get going full speed ahead. i guess that means i better get up from the computer and begin my walk with Lola, my chihuahua, then we can really begin with watering the tomatoes and going to the market (what fun!!!).
blessings and love are coming your way Melisa. great big squeezy hugs, too. God bless you and the family.

    1. Hello , sweet Debra. Oh my you are going to have tomatoes in no time. Isn't it so exciting when you see the 1st fruit? It sounds like you definitely have a green thumb. Soon you will be making tomato sandwiches ( my favorite LOL) and eating maters galore. Hee! Hee! We got ours planted today. We spent all day working on the garden. Tomorrow we will plant the cucumbers and squash. I hope you had a wonderful day out and about especially with little Lola. I bet she is just precious as all get out. I hope you have a fabulous day sprinkled with lots of glitter and sparkles. Big hugs and love.

    1. Hi, Miss Darlene. I hope you had a fabulous day. Are you still working on your applique? This house is a little different isn't it? Here lately I have been drawn to muted colors for some reason as well as large flowers. I have 2 new ones in the works now. We worked all day in the garden. I am worn out. LOL. I was able to come in and cut a few pieces of fabric. Maybe I will get to sew soon. Big hugs.

  18. Lovely new house stitch. Those white blooms remind me of magnolias. I never met my maternal gr'grandma who died long before I was around but I did get to meet my paternal gr'grandma & gr'grandpa. It is a special memory of a visit to WV when I was in second or third grade.

  20. Such a sweet story to go with the house. All my grandparents lived in Apts in New York City :) Sadly I didn't have any of those kinds of wonderful country adventures. I am going to try this pattern. I just finished Amy 1st 2 of yours the cows and here a chick and posted to my IG and tagged you. They were so fun to do - TY (nwpaintedlady)
