Butterflies flutter
Butterflies fly,
They put a a sparkle
In your eye.
Watch a butterfly
And in a short while
It will give you
A butterfly smile!

I'm still quilting butterflies! And they are still bringing a warm smile to my day!

Quilting on Flaming Butterflies. |
Welcome y'all and a lovely day to you. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with my Flaming Butterflies quilt. I was hoping to make great progress on it while camping, but it was just too dusty to bring it out to quilt on during the day, and it was too big to take into the truck camper at night. Sooo here I am still quilting butterflies. A bright yellow butterfly is quilted.
Time to move on to the next one. Soon I will be quilting the border. I may quilt a cable design in the border.
One more Pretty in Peach butterfly body is appliqued. It still needs antennaes though.

This week's Sunday quilt stack is a "Teddy Bear's Picnic" Stack. No good teddy would have a picnic without a stack of quilts to sit on.

Double Stuff is one of my nephew's new kittens. It is supposed to be a barn cat, but it is not. LOL. |
I am joining these lovely ladies' link parties. I hope you check them out; they always have so many wonderful projects going on and provide the opportunity for other needle workers to meet.

ReplyDeleteAaaw thank you so much, Tammy. I am trying to stay as busy as possible. We are crazy about Double Stuff. She is quite spoiled and as cute as a button. Enjoy your day and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteWhere do you take the time from to make all these beautiful things? The quilt is so bright in colors. Love it. Double Stuff looks cute.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy sunday,
Gabi
Happy happy Sunday, Gabi. LOL. I try to squeeze in as much stitching time as I can. I am on a mission to finish my butterfly quilt. Fingers crossed it will be soon. Thank you for bringing a smile to my day. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteI am crazy about Double Stuff - perfect name!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to ask about the Butterflies because I knew you were close to finishing. Beautiful blocks!!
I need to start making a list so I can get more accomplished. I'm experiencing some stress in my life so it's keeping me from staying focused. Ah families!!!! Can't tell you the last time I actually worked on any cross stitch projects. I think a list might help me. Tomorrow might be a good time to start since it's the beginning of the week. We'll see.
Happy Sunday - warm tight hugs, Darlene J
The butterfly quilt is so sweet and happy! Around the Garden is going to be so beautiful when it's a finish. Happy quilting!
ReplyDeleteYou've been a busy lady! Haven't worked on anything this weekend as we have Mike's mom with us. Next week I'll be putting on the binding of Steph's quilt. I'm also going through my storage at my other dd's home to see what to bring with me through the summer and into the fall. Looking forward to seeing your new house. Your butterflies are darling! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteLovely butterflies, Melisa!! I've been working on my 1st Dark Days block finishing up the added embroideries a little at a time; all the radiating lines are done--and now working on the central pomegranates...
ReplyDeleteYour new "not-so-much-a-barn-kitty" is so sweet--just adorable...I mean, just look at that face;)))
Hope you have a wonderful week coming up hugs, Julierose
I love your butterflies, and this one is very joyful. Very sunny too, like the desert where you are! Pretty heart rock. Thank you for sharing and linking up with P&Q!
ReplyDeleteLovely butterflies!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs
I love your title today-Butterfly Stitches, it just sounds like a quilt name! Oh yes we have had some dusty days in the desert!
ReplyDeleteYou've made great progress on quilting the butterfly quilt. Good luck with your to do list for this week. You've got some fun stuff to play with.
ReplyDeleteI love your butterfly quilt, Melisa! You have such a knack for putting pretty fabrics together. The teddy bear quilt stack is sweet, too. I need to try that somewhere in my house - I certainly have enough little quilts to do that with! Have a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteSo many pretties today. You have been busy! Always love seeing the latest heart rock. I have a white planter similar to your blue one and I plan on making it a pincushion, too. Would love to see the full picture of the father and son stitch to read the words. Is that yours or a thrifted stitch? What a cute little teddy tea party. Enjoy your slow stitch Sunday, Melisa, and thank you.
ReplyDeleteYour Flaming Butterflies quilt is looking so colorful and pretty, Melisa! Love your teddy bear picnic quilt stack for today, too. And how cute is Double Stuff--oh, my! I do miss having a kitty around the house, but with my husband's allergies, that is not an option any longer. Enjoy your Sunday, my friend! ♥
ReplyDeletePretty butterflies and a pretty cat. Surely having a house cat is nicer than a barn cat? Your list of creative things to do this week brought a smile,e to my face, hope you get to try them all.
ReplyDeleteDouble Stuff is much too pretty to be hidden in the barn. =) Your butterflies are lovely. The quilt on the wall behind your pretty quilt stack is fabulous. Love all the bright, happy colours. It seems to me you have a lot of pretties to enjoy your days, stitching.
ReplyDeleteLove those butterflies my friend! The yellow one makes me smile it's so cheerful. What an adorable kitty. I can see why it's not a barn cat - you can't put that baby in the barn! Have fun with your goals this week. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love your butterflies.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterflies! I actually finished some potato chip blocks while at quilt retreat and assembled them for a Community Service quilt last week. Need to put a final border on and I can have them ready for workday at my house on Wednesday to cut batting and binding and package them for basting day
ReplyDeleteWas browsing on Primrose Cottage's site tonight and you came to mind when viewing Nebby Needle's pattern, "To quilt or cross stitch, that is the question." Wondered 🤔 if you were aware of it. 😆
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful butterflies! I'll be working on finishing the inside of Old Town--just a couple seems to go and working on my RSC project. Maybe I'll even make a few temperature blocks. . probably wishful thinking; but we will see! I love that the Teddy Bear has a stack of quilts to sit on at the picnic! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies are looking so good, Melisa. I am playing catch up today following my weekend in Williamsburg. Attended a one day stitch in event put on by Liberty Hill Needleworks on Saturday. It was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeletegreat
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely stitching! My first quilt memories include a butterfly one made by a great aunt and I'm always keeping an eye out for a similar one. I can't remember it exactly but I know I'll know it if I ever see it...tho I expect she just made it up and I'm out of luck there!
ReplyDeleteI had to stop in to see the yellow butterfly
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies are lovely Melisa. So are all your other lovely things.
ReplyDeleteLove your butterflies, they make me happy.
ReplyDeleteSo good you finished your pinkeep !
