Wordless Wednesday- Buzzing About on the Farm and a Mini Bee Sampler freebie

A Wonderful Wednesday to you , sweet friends!
Buzz! Buzz!
I thought we would buzz out to the farm for a Not So Wordless Wednesday post and for a bee update.

We lost our big hive at the end of winter and the small weaker hive (or so we thought)   survived. How strange.๐Ÿค” But anyway,  we have captured  more swarms, and  Eeh !  we have 5 as of right now ! They are busy bees and seem to be quite happy.
I hope you enjoy. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿฏ

A little bee freebie just for you!  I  haven't stitched this one so I am not sure how it will turn out. It's a choose your own colors chart.

If you have questions or need any tips on printing  my chart/ doodle click the colored text .

UPDATE: I finished my Mini Bee Sampler. I used some yellow thrifted yarn which I twisted as trim and then added a sweet little bow to corner.  It is now ready to join in with all of my other bee stitches. - July 9, 2023

I used DMC 780, 782, 801, 898, and 3371 .

I appreciate the sweet Wednesday visit.

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

  1. What fun to see someone saving the bees, giving them a home to be happy and fulfilled in their measure of creation. Such interesting bee boxes, too! Your bee stitchery seems like another winner to me.

  4. Oooh I'll bet the honey you get from those bees is just delicious!! Hubby likes putting honey in our homemade bread. Our wild plums are blossoming and there is a wild hum all around them!

    1. Oooh wild plums; I just love them. I bet the bees in your neighborhood are quite happy. Can you imagine the honey from those bees? lol. We were able to get a little honey last year and it was delicious.. Nothing like homemade bread and fresh honey. Thank you for the sweet visit, Vicki

  5. Interesting - I know nothing about bees except they sting. :-) I've seen bee keeps all around FL. I did look up skep as that seems to be very big in cross stitching only to learn that skeps are not the best for the bees. How are the boxes different? I've also noticed many have little water bottles that hamsters use. ;-) And I guess the big question is how do you keep from getting stung? :-D

    1. I am still learning about the bees too, Hubby knows a lot more than I do, but I do love going out to the farm to see them. Hubby got a new big box for them this year ; they seem to like it. We have water nearby as well and right now the honeysuckle, privet and clover is blooming. Soon the thistles will be in bloom. Lol hubby has been stung a couple of times but for some reason I can go right up to the box and get down and close and so far they haven't bothered me. Fingers crossed they won't the next time.

  6. Yay, another bee stitch to add to my addiction...all things bees. I love the quote added to the end of your post. I may try stitching it. Do you have a template for the alphabet?
I appreciate your generosity in sharing your patterns, knowledge and life on the farm.

    1. Lol I am glad that I am not the only one obsessed with bees. I hope you enjoy this little stitch. I was hoping to start it today, but my fabric did not come in. That is a great idea to stitch the quote. Hmmm. You have me thinking. Lol. You might look at the alphabet in my other mini samplers or perhaps the Farmhouse Sampler that I posted. You may like those alphabets. I do need to post a simple alphabet soon. Thank you so much for the sweet Wednesday visit, Cindy and have a great day

    1. It was so strange. They survived the big freeze of the winter and then when it started warming up they passed away. So sad. We are happy that we have been able to capture some new swarms. That means the bees are pretty happy in the neighborhood. Thank you for the sweet visit, Robin. Hope you have a great day.
