It's All About Chickens- mostly

Good Sunday morning, Sunshine! Are you ready to hit the day running? I hope so . Come on in and lets chat for a bit. I am anxious to share with  you my Slow Stitching Sunday plans and a maybe have a little bit of hen talk.🐔😀

Grab you a cup of what delights you.
Ya'll know I love my iced tea . So I have that in the fridge with juice and cokes.

Our blueberries are still producing so I have those for your munching pleasure as well.

While we are in the kitchen, let me share my tiered tray by the corner kitchen sink.
It is decorated in a modge podge of chickens and anything, yellow and white.

This cheerful hen creamer always makes me smile

Most of the little ceramic pieces are salt and pepper shakers that I find at the Goodwill including this little farm girl. Isn't she darling?

Now onto quilting and stitching. - It's all about chickens! Could you guess that? Well there is a little Christmas in July too.

First on the agenda-  Cluck Cluck
Put in some quilting on my Chicken quilt. The blocks are almost complete and then on to the border. Oh, I am so excited!
These are photos of it when it was in progress.

I will take this project with me when I go visit the family- our family gathers together on Sundays for a Sunday meal and chit chat, and my favorite is to watch what the grandkids  and nephews get into- they are all into fishing right now.

Staying on the chicken theme- my dear friend, Sue sent me the sweetest design that she  kitted up for me. It is called "The Rooster Sampler " by Tracy Cambell Designs.
Sue is stitching it too. Right now I am stitching the border on 14 count Loops & Threads aida, and can I tell you it is a dream to stitch on. I am loving it. Thank you so much, Sue. I am thinking after the border I will move to the alphabet. I know the rooster will be last.

Though not in the same colors, he reminds me of this rooster. Lol.
This painting is one of my favorite chicken thrifty finds.

Speaking of roosters, my friend Karen sent me a big package which I plan to share with you in the future,  but I wanted to share with you this stinking cute Rooster fabric. My mind is swirling with ideas.
Along with my surprise package was these fabrics as well. So scrumptious.

Oh , I want to scream out loud- Stitching friends are the best!  I sure have made so many wonderful friends who brighten my day. Thank you!  Thank you! Thank you!

Oh what else can I get into ? Mmmm. How about a little Christmas stitching for Santa Sunday?

I am thinking this sweet design would be a great start; which was gifted to me by , Karen in the big box of goodies. It is called "Not  a Creature Was Stirring" from Just Another Button Company.  Thank you so much, Karen.

I think that will keep me busy for the day.

Speaking of Christmas I started some Christmas in July quilting. I am not sure what this little block is called but I thought it was cute.
Two blocks down and I do not know how many more I will create, but they are on the agenda for some Monday piecing.

These are the measurements that I used.

Super easy piecing .

Well that is what is going on in my neck of the woods today. What are you up to?

As always,
Happy Quilting and Stitching, ya'll

  1. Thanks for the lovely tour of your chicken decorations! You certainly have a knack for decorating. The pieced blocks looks like it's one from the Garden Party quilt designed by Bonnie Hunter. This quilt is on my list of projects to be made. Happy stitching!

  2. Girl, how do you get so much done?? I love the chicken quilt and I’ll bet your family enjoys watching it come to life on Sundays. I’ve decided I need a tier tray. Isn’t it perfect for Knick knacks and trinkets? Lol I love buying those things, but never know what to do with them. Watch out, I’m in the market for one now!
