Happy Thrifty Thursday. Well you know I had to visit a few thrift stores as Mr. Pinker and I made our way home from our long camping trip. Pickins' were slim, but I did come home with a few fabulous finds. Before you ask - Nope- no cookie jars or bean pots this time. Hee! Hee! But not because I wasn't looking for them. LOL. (Many of y'all know my obsession with cookie jars. )

This Ball recipe book will come in handy as I harvest my garden. I believe it is a 1932 edition. Anytime I see a piece of Pflatzgraff for a song and dance, I certainly pick it up. This time I found 2 pieces.
Sharp- eyed Mr. Pinker spotted the cabbage chopper/ slicer for just $6.00. I couldn't leave it behind. It was the most expensive piece I bought. So I don't think that is too bad. Do you?
I am on the search for more potato mashers. These two I found last year.

A little apple pitcher joined the couple of Watt bowls that I found last month. Delicious!
A pretty pink bowl will be perfect for spring decor.
And look at all of these vintage doilies and potholders! May I say that I am thrilled to pieces?!!!
And finally, the lady at the antique store said I got an amazing deal when I bought the pear shaped milk glass plates for just $.50 for all three. 😲Now that is my kind of prices. 😀💗❤
Now you may be wondering if I came home with any quilts. Well, not from that camping trip, but... the other day I went to the thrift store and found 3 vintage quilts just waiting for me to snatch them up. I will show you them in future posts.

What amazing finds and prices! 😍 I LOVE thrifting. We have a lot of great thrift- and antique stores in Maine. You should take a road trip to the coast of Maine some time...it's beautiful in the summer and fall! I can tell you about all the best thrift shops 😊

Great finds! Oh how I love thrifting. I typically shop at a "bin" store to get "new" junk. Friday at the store things are $10 with the new shipments. By Thursday things are all 25 cents. I LOVE 25 cent pants. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love the Ball Blue Book! That is my go-to book for canning. Except for family recipes, I do not need any other canning books. It's all in there. Can't wait to see the quilts you found. I'll stay tuned.
I love Pflatzgraff - those are nice pieces! I have a potholder exactly like the one with the rose center!! I don't know if it was Mom's or Granny's. I decorate with it at Christmas time. :)
ReplyDeleteYour new thrifted items are beautiful! I don't go thrifting, I'm determined not to clutter my house with stuff. I enjoy viewing everyone else's treasures but I like my clutter free home, it gives me a sense of peace and calm. Looking forward to seeing the new quilts!

ReplyDeleteThat little white and yellow crochet dress pot holder brought back memories-my mom and I used to crochet some similar. I like seeing your treasures but I don't thrift, that way I don't have to find places to store it, LOL.

ReplyDeletewowza!!! you've got quite the stash of thrift find goodies. i went into a thrift store one time (salvation army) when i was looking for men's shirts for a quilt project i was going to work on. i found quite a bit and didn't search any further in the store. you have got me wanting to make a trip to the thrift store to see what i can find. you find such beautiful pieces. i love the pear-shaped milk glass pieces. amazing!!! you did good lovely lady.
i hope your tomato garden is progressing nicely. my tomatoes seem to have a mind of their own. very slow growing. my cherokee purple tomato plant that i paid $20 (i can't believe i would pay that for a tomato plant, but i do love the awesome tomatoes - they taste so yummy) for has deformed tomatoes. some of them seem to be growing rotten. how can that be? geez!!! i was salivating like crazy when i transplanted all of my tomato plants. i thought i was going to have quite the crop. so far - nada!!! oh well patience - Rome wasn't built in a day.
take time to rest. i read in a previous post you are getting ready to go on another adventure. be safe. can i come with you? you go to the best places. i love nature!!! i love wildlife!!!
