Chickens, Chipmunks, and Ice Trays?

Happy Friday, ya'll!  I woke up this morning bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for a fabulous Friday. As I working my way through my normal morning  routine- , I peeked out the window and who should I see but good ole'  Alvin the Chipmunk who dwells on my front porch. Oh what a delight, I  rushed over for my camera and a clickety click , I actually got a descent photo.

Well enough of the little critters. It was time to visit the Quilt Nest. In no time flat,  fabrics scraps were flying and the rotary cutter was in action.

Simple little nine patches  in pretty  purples and blues . Check- a completed goal for the week.

Next a purple little chicken was waiting to be appliqued. It took about a whole 30 minutes.

"Woo Hoo! I'm on a roll today," I thought. " Nothing is going to stop me now!! ", I yelled out in glee." I am going to do the happy dance", I  said to no one in particular. I jumped up  , did a little jig that my girls would be totally embarrassed by and then made my way into the kitchen to  get a big refreshing glass of ice tea, and that is when my bare feet stepped into a puddle of water.

EEEERK !! Can you hear the morning screeching to a hault. Lol "Oh' darn it water is covering the floor. What  is going on here?" Well it ended up being  the ice maker. Yep that meant no ice tea . "Oh dab nab it," I thought' . Soon hubby  came to the rescue. " Ice tea and back to morning stitching here soon!"  I exclaimed. After some studying, he fixed the situation by cutting off the water to the ice machine. lol

Well I guess now I am going to have to use my ice trays for something other than thread holders.😄

Does that mean I need to use my pans for cooking rather than  holding fabric too?  Lol . 😜😆

Aah ! it is a beautiful day, and it is off to a great start. I hope yours is too, my lovely friends. Thank you so much for the sweet visit and as always...

Happy quilting. ya'll

  2. Glad your water problem was easily solved. I haven't used metal ice cube trays in years, I never could get them to release the ice cubes, plastic ones for this girl! Your blue and purple 9 patches are very cute, they'll make a lovely quilt. Happy stitching!

  3. Thanks for the giggles this morning, Melisa! I hope your ice maker is an easy fix. What a cute little chipmunk! We see them running across the road at times on the way to town, but haven't seen any in our yard/woods.

  4. When I look at your photos, I can still remember the sound those ice trays make when you try to pull that lever. Then if you couldn’t get the ice to release, you would run hot water on it and there went half of the ice. Just passed through your state last week after visiting our daughter in Georgia. I waved as I went through. Have a nice weekend.

  5. Yikes on the water problem... I was picturing a slip and fall! Glad that was not the case. The chickens are adorable as are the nine patches. Hmmmmm using bowls and pans and ice trays for their actual usage? I like your solution better! Question - how do you like the connecting threads thread in the top ice tray?

  6. Hello to Alvin the chipmunk, he looks very cute. None of these critters where I live, all the way down here in New Zealand. Pretty chicken blocks. Hope your ice problem gets fixed promptly.

  8. Cute chipmunk! I don’t think we have those in NC. I like your use of ice trays and pots for the sewing room. Pretty purple this week.

  11. Love that purple chicken!!! I vote no--keep the ice trays for thread! Get the ice making machine fixed, or eliminate ice from your diet!!! Things can get cooled down really good just sitting in the fridge, after all!

  12. I am Alecia Maldonado used every single spell worker on the internet, spent untold amounts of money and discovered they are all fakes...i was the fool though; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. In the end, I decided that I wanted a tarot reading to know what my future held for me; I contacted a woman who lives locally to me and she told me about a man named (Dr Mandaker); he just got he just got his website (holyaraminta.com), has another job for income, has no set prices, makes no false promises and refuses to help anyone that cannot be helped and even helps
for free sometimes, he will give you proof before taking money. He is a wonderful man and he was the only person who actually gave me real results. I really hope he doesn't mind me advertising his contact on the internet but I'm sure any help/ extra work will benefit him.contact him as witchhealing@outlook.com He travel sometimes.i cant give out his number cos he told me he don’t want to be disturbed by many people across the world..he said his email is okay and he’ will replied to any emails asap, love marriage, finance, job promotion ,lottery Voodoo, poker voodoo, golf Voodoo,Law & Court case Spells, money voodoo, weigh loss voodoo, any sicknesses voodoo,Trouble in marriage,HIV AIDS,Barrenness(need a child),goodLuck voodoo,it's all he does Hope this helps everyone that is in a desperate situation as I once was; I know how it feels to hold onto something and never have a chance to move on because of the false promises and then to feel trapped in wanting something
    more!

  13. Melisa,
Thank you for the cute bee designs! I have been stitching a few large projects and decided to switch to some smalls. Javagirl on YouTube showed her sweet home bee pillow and knew I would need to stitch it. Your generosity is amazing, I can't believe you don't sell your designs. We are at the beginning of a heatwave so I shall be staying inside and stitching to try and keep cool. Hope you are having a lovely summer and again thank you so much. I will post on IG when they are finished.
