Well hello there, punkin. Thank you for coming to visit today.
It is a little overcast here today, and the temps have cooled down. Such a nice day to be outside doing a little stitching here. I have spent the morning sitting on the porch at Mom's, but now I am back home ready to do a little quilting and piddling around the house. Last night I worked on an itty bitty stitch called Prim Pumpkin House.
This little jack is sporting a little house on top of his head and the key is right there to open the door.
I had originally planned to stitch the house in a white or cream color, but at the last minute I chose DMC 646. I am quite happy with the results.
He is just perfect size to sit in this small wooden bowl that my sister gave me unless I decide to use this bowl as a finishing piece for another stitch that I have completed. But Jack sure does look snug as a bug in a rug in that bowl.
This sure is a small stitch with a design size 27 W x 30 H. On 14 count aida that would measure 1 7/8" x 2 1/8" . So you know what that means- Woo Hoo ! A quick stitch!
I stitched mine on 14 count tea dyed aida, and of course I used scrap fabric. You know I do not throw those little pieces away.
I just used 6 flosses DMC 898, 919, 310, blanc, 319, and 646, but you could use whatever makes your heart happy. You could stitch this itty bitty piece too. Just scroll on down to the pdfs. It sure would make me happy for this little pumpkin house to join your fall collection. If you do not like the jack o lantern, stitch it without a face.

When I stitched this little piece, I started out on the bottom left hand corner. I was able to get 2 rows of orange in before the need to reload my floss. That is when I went ahead and stitched Jack's mouth, nose, and eyes. I then proceeded onto his stem. Now I have to be truthful . I can not stitch a design without making mistakes- yes even my own designs. Lol. I left out a row in my Jack's stem so my finished piece looks a little different than charted . I did not realize it until I was down to the last motif for me to stitch which was the key. So my key looks different and touches Jack, but when I do restitch him . I will try my darndest to stitch him correctly. Lol.
There have been 2 other free Halloween Itty Bitty Charts. Click their names to go to the post and the pdf downloads. They are Big Jack and Little Jaxs , and Happy Cat.
Doesn't Prim Pumpkin House look so cute in my 3 tiered tray?
Well I am off to enjoy this cooler weather. Have a wonderful day and as always...
Happy stitching, ya'll
Melisa

I have always enjoyed creating and pulling out the quilts. I have been working on a Halloween quilt today. And you are so welcome on the charts. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Cindy. I have a lot of fun creating and stitching them and even more sharing them. I am limited in my resources so I always try to be as thrifty as possible in my finishes. I enjoy seeing how others finish their pieces too; there is so many possibilities and inspiration out there. Thank you so much for visiting. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Melisa
DeleteI have downloaded all of your amazing Freebies. Have you ever thought about Etsy? I know someone else has suggested it. I would be more than willing to pay for your adorable quick, easy, and adorable designs.
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet of you. Thank you so much for visiting me and for the warm words of encouragement and for the support.I just can not tell you how humbled I feel and how grateful. You really made a gal feel good. I have had a number of kind stitchers suggest an etsy which I feel so flattered especially since I have only learned how to chart 4 months ago as a relief from covid stress. I was surprised when I showed a chart and a dear stitcher was interested so I just made up the blog and started putting some of them on here. It brings me so much joy to share and give back a little because this whole community has been awesome. But you and other have definitely given me food for thought if I ever decide to start another career. Thank you again for being so sweet. Hugs, Melisa

I can not wait to see your fall tree this year too. Thank you about my little houses . I got those at the Goodwill not knowing that they were canisters. They were all taped up but I just like them displayed on their own. Thank you for visiting, Debbie and have a great week. Hugs, Melisa
