Fred has brothers-in-law that served in the military and his brother was US Army. I have 2 uncles that served in the Navy/Marines. Love your patriotic stitchings and enthusiasm!
ReplyDeletegood morning traveling Melisa.
ReplyDeletei hope all is well with you and Mr. Pinker and that you are both having a fantastic time exploring the grand ole' USA.
i was admiring your cross stitch piece with the eagle, flag and words Free along the right side. can you tell me the name of that pattern so i can print the instructions please? i love it. it is such a heartwarming piece. made me feel very much at peace looking at it. i don't know if you are aware, but there is an eagle family in Big Bear Valley here in California that I have been following. The mom's name is Jackie, dad is Shadow, and there are two eaglets named Sunny and Gizmo. Both Sunny and Gizmo have fledged the nest and the parents have been searching for Gizmo. She wasn't noticed yesterday and we are all on pins and needles to know where she is. Sunny and Gizmo are both still being fed by mom and dad and the process of teaching to hunt and feed on their own is in work, but Gizmo was no where to be found yesterday. I feel like these eagles are a piece of me because it is so unique to see them hatch and then the growth process and love that mom and dad show their babies. I have probably gone on and on and I apologize. If you get a chance to google Big Bear Valley and see if you can view their webcam. It's very interesting.
Anyway, I hope Mr. Pinker had a great Father's Day. It was so hot, hot, hot here. In the mid 90's - yikes - that is toooooo hot for me.
Well Melisa I have held your ear long enough. I thoroughly enjoyed the 250th anniversary of the Army on Saturday. It was amazing to see all of the military personnel marching. I got goosies all over my arms. The National Anthem was the best along with all the music that was played and sung. The fireworks at the end - oh my goodness - wowza!!! I loved everyone of them.
Have a wonderful, blessed day Melisa. Stay safe. Blessings and love are on the way to you.
Hugs.
