Hey, ya'll. I hope you are doing well. I have an itty bitty free Halloween design and when I say itty bitty, I mean teensy tiny. Lol This is "Big Jack and Little Jaxs".

I began this little design by wanting use this tiny piece of 14 count Aida. You know I have to use every scrap if possible.

I was working on another Halloween  stitch and decided to use the jack o' lanterns in that piece to create a little ornament .

 This little stitch measures 18 W x 25 H. See!  I did say little. On 14 count Aida that would be 1 1/4" x 1 3/4" .

I stitched mine on coffee/ tea dyed aida using DMC floss. Big Ole Jack sits in a cauldron waiting to be boiled with the twin little jaxs. He doesn't seem to have a care in the world.

I decided to finish this stitch as a round ornament which can hang on the tree or on a basket or really anywhere. This was  a very thrifty finish. I finished the stitch on foam board covered with scrap batting. I then cut 2 circles from a piece of cardboard and wrapped the orange and black polka dot fabric from Walmart for the background piece. The ruffle , bow , and twisted fabric cording is from a pair of gingham pants that I have ripped up for finishing.
I hope to add a little bitty pumpkin embellishment to the bow in the future, but for right now it looks fine.

It is a super quick stitch and would be cute as a fob as well.

    1. Oh thank you so much, Joan. I stitch them in hand. Sometimes they are a challenge, but the quilter in me will not allow me to get rid of the smallest scrap of fabric. Lol. Hugs, Melisa

  3. Such a cutie!!Thank you, Melisa! I don't stitch very much Halloween anymore as my dad passed on Halloween 2014. I do hope to get back at least a little of my love for the holiday one of these years :)

    1. Oh I am so sorry, Carol. I completely understand why the Halloween stitching is not in your heart anymore but there is plenty of other seasonal stitching. I always love seeing your Christmas ornaments and can not wait to see your tree each year. Hugs, Melisa
