Turkeys will go in the oven here very soon.

Dinner will be at 12:00, and we will gobble till we wobble.

Afterwards, I hope to sit down and enjoy some embroidery work on my Frosty McChill quilt blocks. I am doing these in redwork, and for the last few weeks I have been sharing these designs. If you missed them, so far I have shared " Let it Snow"  and " Sled Time  ".

and Block 3 was The Tree March

Today is block 4 Just a Sweeping!!!

( Do any of ya'll remember country music singer John Anderson's song "Just a Swingin"? Lol . That little ditty was strumming  in my head as I stitched this one, but I was singing "Just a Sweepin" ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿงน)

INSTRUCTION TIME !   Now remember , I am no expert, but am just sharing how I embroider mine. Please prepare your fabric, embroider in whatever manner that  makes you happy. The number one rule is to always have FUN FUN FUN!!!

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut your fabric to 8 1/2 "x 11 1/2" . This will  be trimmed later.

2.  Place the pattern between a light box or a window and center the design as best as possible. Trace the design onto your fabric using your favorite transfer fabric pen or pencil .

3. Embroider the design .  I used a back stitch using 2 strands of DMC 498  on most of the design. A stem stitch would look  quite lovely if you prefer.  I used 1 strand of 498 for the details in the snowman's face.

4. On the snowflakes , I used a French Knot at the end of 4 of the points . You do not have to include the French Knot or you may want to add a teeny bead at each point . How cute would that be!!!

5. Press and trim to block size 7 1/2 x 10 1/2".

Click here for the embroidery pattern.

Thank you so much for stopping by ya'll. I can not wait to show you next week's Frosty. He is my favorite so far.

Happy Stitching, ya'll

And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding that I  have to put each page on separate pdf downloads because of the devices I use. I apologize for that.  And I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and stitching my little designs.

A Christmas candle is a lovely thing . It makes no sound at all but softly gives itself away.

Crayons Ready and Gingerdoodles in the Oven

Good morning, sweetie pies! It is a chilly morning. Welcome. I have poured myself some hot cocoa.

Please, please grab a cup and join me for this Slow Stitching Sunday.  Gingerdoodle cookies are in the oven .

The other day , I pulled out some of my previous little quilted mug rugs and quilts to put on display and like always they got me in the mood to work on another piece of embroidery.

Although I do have Frosty McChill QAL going on, I felt like I needed a quickie quilt.

Soooo ! I have my crayons all ready for today's project.

Now I know I should have tinted and embroidered the blocks first, but sometimes I fly by the seat of my pants and piece and then do the tinting and embroidery work .

Please tell me if you see the Quilt Police headed in my direction ; I'll make a run for it with crayons , floss, and needle in hand. Lol. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ–๐Ÿงต

A sweet friend gifted me some  4 1/2" precut white squares so after piecing this little baby, I drew out some Christmas motifs, and now I am ready to go to town.

WheeeW !   I feel like a kid again playing with my crayons.  Embroidery will come later.   This little quilt will measure 14 x 14 when completed.

Here are the fabric measurements if you are interested:

Cut 9 -  2 1/2" squares from red white plaids.

Cut  12-  2 1/2' x 4 1/2" from red fabrics for sashing.

Cut 4 - 4 1/2" squares for embroidered blocks.

Oh and let's not forget  the little doodles . Click here for the embroidery designs.

These would be awful cute in wool applique too. Maybe some pillows.

I went back and watched Crabapple Hill Studio's video on crayon tinting for a refresher.

I am working on my gingerbread man right now.

Did you know that today is National Gingerbread Cookie Day?  I think I am  the only one in my house that loves gingerbread men. What's up with that? Lol. I don't know, but I think they are yummy !  I thought about baking some gingerbread men in celebration but on a whim chose Gingerdoodles. Mmmm. Oh that smell. It smells like Christmas. I think they are ready.  Please try one; be careful they are still warm.

My Sunday Slow Stitch cross stitch will be Thankful Every Day a freebie by Heartstring Samplery which is available on Beth's blog in the November, 22, 2019 post.

I have been working on it since last year. If my fingers get to flying , maybe I will finish it this year.

Now I have to leave you this recipe just in case you want to make some Gingerdoodles of your own.

Turkeys, Turkeys and More Turkeys - Thanksgiving Hutch Tour

Happy , happy Friday, punkins! Are you ready for an awesome weekend? I am gearing up for Thanksgiving which is just is just 6 short days away! Please come on in and join me in the kitchen. Can I interest you in some sweet tea or maybe a little apple cider?
Well today I wanted to show you my crammed full country hutch. I tell you- it is packed to the brim with country clutter, turkeys and all kinds of stitching and boy, do I love it.!!

I started off with some black and white buffalo checked fabric that I used as shelf runners. This fabric was from Walmart, and I just  simply cut it into strips. I then layered in the plates which  were from the Dollar Tree  as well as the Goodwill.

On the  top shelf is the Primitive Hare's freebie "Give Thanks". I finished it a few years ago.

Next to it is the most darling large acorn, that my sweet friend Shelly gifted me along with the super cute "Welcome Autumn" leaf plaque.  This year Walmart had some brown and autumnal colored bottle brush trees. I thought they would look cute sprinkled among my Thanksgiving decor.

I placed "Happy Thanksgiving " by Bent Creek in a little creamer. Lisa, a sweet stitchy friend, let me borrow it a few years ago.

That little turkey always makes me smile.

Now lets hop down to the 2nd shelf.

In my vintage juicer, I changed out the bowl and stuffed it with "Give Thanks" a Lizzie Kate freebie and a little pumpkin.

Next to it is my Priscilla Ewe , that I finished onto a Dollar General wooden pumpkin.

Pilgrims and turkeys are scattered on the 2nd shelf.

In the corner is  a pumpkin and gourd stitch nestled in a turkey ; it was a freebie. Do you  recognize it? For the life of me I can not remember who was the designer and I would love to give them credit for this sweet stitch.
Oh and what about the little pumpkin sampler. Is that a Heart in Hand?  My memory is failing. Lol.

Now let's turkey strut on down to the the bottom shelf.

In the corner is a little turkey nestled in a fabulous basket gifted to me by Shelly. I can not wait to use it come spring time. Below it is my Thanksgiving stitch finished into a pillow. In the turkey planter is Blessed which I shared last year.

My two November saltbox houses  are nestled in the mix.

Gobble Gobble is one of my freebies that I shared earlier this month. It is resting on the vintage scale.

That's my 2021 Thanksgiving hutch in a nutshell. If you would like to see last year's hutch click here

Well, now that we have taken the hutch tour. I have an apron ready for you. Are you ready to join me in some cooking? Lol  I thought maybe you could give me a hand in some make ahead side dishes What do you say? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿš๐Ÿฆƒ
Aaah well maybe next time then. Thank you so much , my dears for dropping by for a visit. It is always a delight and such an honor that you spend a few minutes of your day with me.
Sending you big hugs and as always...
Happy decorating and stitching, ya'll
