I am checking my list and checking it twice! Nah, not my Christmas list but my Thanksgiving grocery list.
Today Mr. Pinker and I will be picking up the fresh fruits and vegetables and then the preparations will begin.

How are you doing on Thanksgiving preparations?
Fall Y'all
I just realized the other day that I never showed you my country clutter of a hutch all decorated in its fall decor.
Wheew that is a lot of stuff isn't it? It might make your eyes cross, but country clutter is just my style. Anywhooo, it would be a delight if you joined me for a closer look.
The theme this year was Grandma's Country Autumn Kitchen. I always like to have a theme and a focus color which you can tell was all things orange.
There are lots of old tins and utensils scattered about the shelves. Some rusty and crusty- again my style.
I even included a pie dish that mom gifted me nigh 20 years ago.
There are mugs and pitchers all thrifted of course.
I think the little pumpkin sampler is a Heart in Hand Designs.
And sweet little stitches tucked here and there.
Little Bits Pumpkin Haul
There are samplers...
Pumpkin and Bittersweet Sampler and A Pumpkin or Two
And a gravy boat filled with a masher and little cross stitched pillows.
Rosie's Pumpkins
There is the promise of pumpkin pies... Fresh baked of course.
And promises of peanut brittle which may break your teeth. Oouch!
Coca Colas and Maple syrup and I must not forget a little quilt...
And the scales are weighed down with copper measuring cups, frosted pumpkins and sweet crocheted doilies and potholders.
FALL 1869 CROCK
Aaah all of the gathering on Grandma's hutch.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me today.
May your day be sprinkled with pumpkin pie spice and everything nice!
Love ya'!
As Always...
Happy Stitching and Quilting,
y'all
Melisa

ReplyDeleteNo cooking in this house this year - grandboys are working so not available. That's ok I'll just enjoy a quiet day just as I usually do. I'm in the mood to make another little quilt. LOL
Enjoy all the produce in your kitchen. DarleneJ
Happy Tuesday, Miss Darlene. A quiet Thanksgiving at the sewing machine sounds very lovely to me. I am sure you will whip up another beauty. Do you have one already in mind to work on? There is one or two ( Oh heck more than that) on your IG that are preying on my mind . Hee! Hee! I may have to start a new one very soon. Big hugs from a rainy holler.
DeleteLast night as I was attempting to drift off to sleep I was thinking about my little quilts. I don't have anything in mind but I seldom do - LOL I have a habit of flying by the seat of my pants. Do you have an idea or two for me?? We both have a real love for little quilts so hopefully you can toss an idea or two my way. Start your thinking engine, please. You're so sweet to say that some of mine have inspired you. That puts a bounce in my needle. ROFLOL Happy Tuesday Hugs, DarleneJ
DeleteThose are the perfect displays of pumpkins! I love the pie tin that you mom gave you! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Terry. The pie plate and the little pumpkin spice tin are some of my favorites to display each season. I hope you are enjoying your day. Warm hugs and blessings.
DeleteLoved the Hutch tour, Melisa! Thanks for sharing! Really no prep going on here as we made reservations for Thanksgiving out again this year. I did pick up a couple of slices of pumpkin pie from Yoder's for the Mister 'cuz I don't eat it. Two more sleeps until the gobbling commences.
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful to be able to go out and let someone else do the cooking and clean up. Hee! Hee! I was looking at some of our local restaurants which are not many to see if they are open on Thanksgiving. Mmm I hope hubby enjoys the Yoder's pumpkin pie. Now you have to have a sweet treat too. Hee ! Hee! Thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs
DeleteAnother great tour - thank you! Mr. Pinker must be awfully patient to having to bring up (down?) all those totes from storage. What a guy! I'll be cooking with my dd today for Thanksgiving. She and wifey have to work Thanksgiving so she's going to bring in her share. Dh and I are spending the day with his Mom and family so I'm making 2 corn casseroles (as is my dd) and pumpkin pie. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, hubby is very obliging . I am so happy you are spending Thanksgiving with your family this year, Donna. Bummer that your dd and wifey have to work on Thanksgiving. My sis does too. I remember when everything used to be closed on Thanksgiving . Don't you? Mmmm corn casseroles sounds delicious. I bet y'all will have a grand feast . Savor every bite. Warm hugs and Blessings
DeleteGrocery shopping for Thanksgiving is on our to do list for today too. Love your pumpkin themed hutch, lots to look at. Enjoy the holiday, hope all the prep work goes well.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday, Kate. I hope that your shopping trip goes well and you are able to get all that you need for the grand feast. Thank you for the sweet Tuesday visit and Happy Thanksgiving. Hugs.
DeleteGood luck at the store - we are doing the same today! We are doing 2 bone-in turkey breasts instead of turkeys this year. They are more expensive, but all of us like white meat, so might as well go with it. Lovely displays!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday , Linda. I wish you the best as you pick up those last minute supplies. We bought 2 bone in turkeys too for the same reason. They are yummy! Hubby is going to smoke one while Mom has 2 that she will roast. It looks to be a grand day. Thank you for the Tuesday visit. Warm hugs.
DeleteA beautiful pop of color for me on this dreary, rainy Tuesday. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you very much, Maureen. Are you getting rain too? It is supposed to rain all day here. It is nice to hear the pitter patter of rain, but I do like the sunshine. LOL. I wish you a very lovely day and a Happy Thanksgiving. Hugs
DeleteLove all your Autumn Kitchen "clutter", Melisa!! I especially like that gravy boat filled with your little stitcheries...what a comforting display you have set up ;))) so nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteI hope your turkeys thaw well--that is always the burning question here, too--:)))
Today is house cleaning and tomorrow setting up everything: dishes, table, special plates etc etc...Hugs from another "busy bee"-- Julierose
Aaaw thank you so much, Julierose. I found that little gravy boat at the thrift store. It was a fun find. I have my fingers crossed they will be thawed out. LOL. It sounds like you will be a busy bee. I am going to pull out my serving pieces today and then work on a pie. Yum! Yum! I wish you a lovely day as you are busy bustling about in the kitchen. Warm hugs and blessings.
DeleteI love your hutch Melisa! It always has just the perfect amount of country clutter. It must be fun to pick out your theme every time you decorate it. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much, Lisa. It is hard for me to refrain from squeezing in one more piece . Hee! Hee! Hmmm I wonder if there is any room. LOL. I do have a lot of fun playing with all my stuff. I used to never change it out. It is nice to rotate the items though. I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving. Hugs and Blessings.
Deletegood morning autumn planner Melisa.
ReplyDeletei love your gramma's country autumn kitchen. of course, i found a few patterns that i just couldn't resist. A Pumpkin or Two and Rosie's Pumpkins are both now in my hot "big" hands to stitch. i can hardly wait. i have soooo many patterns i want to stitch Melisa - how do i choose? thank you, thank you, thank you. you're the best!!!
don't get too caught up in the "Thanksgiving grocery shopping bunch". there will be a lot of people out shopping. i went to costco on friday and drove round and round the parking lot looking for a spot. i have a little pet peeve - people who sit in the middle of the road waiting for people to load up their car so they can have their parking spot. now people - can't you please move over a little bit so other cars can get by. it's so hard to maneuver around the car when it is in the middle of the road and cars are piling up by the numbers behind you to get through. geez!!! what's wrong with people. i shouldn't complain about them, but it is an annoyance of mine. okay the soap box has been removed and put away until tomorrow.
i hope you have a wonderful, blessed day. we are expecting Santa Ana weather. that means we can expect heat and winds. i don't like it. it is so hard to breath. my husband is finally getting better and now this weather change will more than likely leave him feeling blah! again. hot, hot, hot, cold, rainy, cold rainy, Santa Ana. crazy weather all in a week's time - wouldn't you say? how's your weather? i hope it is cool with blue skies.
time for me to close and let you get on your way. you're probably ready to start putting the groceries away by the time you read this.
Melisa i am so happy Mr. Pinker accompanies you when you need to make road trips to the market, yard sales, thrift store adventures, wherever you may be headed. i think it is so sweet. you've definitely got a keeper in Mr. Pinker.
blessings and love are on the way to you Melisa and family. hugs, too.
Debra Broyles
Good morning, Miss Debra and Happy Happy Tuesday. I am so touched that you found some little designs to add to your stitching list. I do hope you enjoy them. Oh goodness, it can be a mad house when shopping especially during the holiday season. Right? We try to go as early as possible to beat the crowd but that is not always possible. Of course this time of the year there is always a crowd. It is such a bummer that the weather is going to be unpleasant in your neck of the woods especially with Thanksgiving just a few days away. Poor weather can be very draining especially when it goes back and forth back and forth. You and hubby do take care. Today is a dreary rainy day here in the holler. Thankfully, it is a gentle rain. And Thursday it is supposed to be cold- Oh bummer we were hoping to be able to sit outside .Oh well, it will be a great day despite the weather. Well Sweetie, you have a great day. Big Bear hugs and lots of love
DeleteFantastic hutch tour, Melisa! Enjoy your Thanksgiving! Hugs, B
ReplyDeleteAaw shucks , thank you so much, Brenda. I know it is a lot but I have enjoyed it this fall season. I wish you and your family a very lovely Thanksgiving. Warm hugs.
DeleteWow, your Grandma's cupboard is certainly well stocked! So many awesome things. I'm not familiar with that name Sauer's. Love how you've put your pretty stitcheries here and there too and also that you rescued someone's grandma's cookie jar...to be loved all over again.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Jocelyn. I had a ball decorating it for the fall season. I am not sure if Sauers is a southern brand or not. I see a lot of their products in the stores including mayo and other condiments. That little Esmond cookie jar is one of my favorites. I keep it out year round. Have a blessed day . Hugs.

Happy Happy Birthday, sweet Dianet ! I hope your day is magical and extra extra special. You are the sweetest to share the most gorgeous winter design with us especially on your birthday. Oh my , Frosty and little Pepin are so sweet and precious. I cannot wait to stitch the winter pair and have them displayed for the season. Thank you, sweet friend. You always brighten my day! Have a beautiful day. Hugs and many blessings.
DeleteI love how the Thanksgiving-themed sideboard looks!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll share that delicious meal you're already preparing.
Hugs
Aaw thank you so much , dear Isabel. I have enjoyed having this fall collection out. Soon I redecorate it for Christmas. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs.
DeleteYour hutch is always decorated so nicely, Melisa. I love Grandma's Country Autumn version. You find the best thrifted items. Hubby bought a fresh turkey but promptly placed it in the freezer. It is now thawing in the refrigerator. Like you, I hope it will be ready to roast on Thursday. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Jeanna. You are always so very kind. I always worry about if the turkey will be thawed in time don't you? LOL. But all seems to go well. I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving. Hugs.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Linda. It was a joy to decorate this little hutch with thrifted finds for the season. I wish you a blessed and beautiful day. Hugs.
DeleteYou have a lot of beautiful treasures and I always enjoy seeing them in your tours. Thank you for sharing them with us and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Aaw thank you so much, Diana. I have been collecting for years so it is nice to rotate things around seasonally so I can enjoy them. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteI really enjoyed the hutch tour - wow! A wonderful mix of cross stitch, pumpkin/fall items and quilts. Thanks for sharing. Have a great Thanksgiving. Alicia
ReplyDeleteAaw shucks. Thank you so much, Alicia. I am looking forward to changing it out for the Christmas season. Just a few more days and all will be put away. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs.
DeleteLove all your pumpkin things on the hutch, Melisa! You're giving me a craving for pumpkin pie. ๐ฅฐ I'm baking one tomorrow! I'm about ready - the turkey is thawing, but I do keep thinking of "one more thing" that I need at the store!
ReplyDeleteMmm fresh baked pumpkin pie- there is nothing like it. Oh, I am the same way, Diann. I am sure that I am forgetting something. I will check my list 1 more time just in case. LOL. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving . I know you will be busy tomorrow. Hugs.
DeleteWow! So cozy & cute! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Jackie . You brought a smile to my day. I truly appreciate it. I wish a very Happy Thanksgiving as well. Hugs.
DeleteI love seeing your hutch decor! It is warm, cozy and welcoming! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! ❤
ReplyDeleteAaww you are so very kind. Thank you so much. I have enjoyed all of the pumpkin decor for the fall season. I wish you a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. Warm hugs.
DeleteI really enjoyed your hutch tour. Orange is an under appreciated color in my book. You have really showcased it beautifully this year. Got my giblets cooked off today. I put them in my stuffing, not my gravy. I save bread crusts for stuffing and those got broken up today. Finished up Christmas project today. One down, don't even ask how many to go!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Ginny. My collection of "orange" items has slowly built up over the years which has been unintentional, but I do love the color and of course I have never met a pumpkin I didn't like. LOL. You have been busy busy busy. Oh your dressing sounds just like my Granny used to make it with the giblets and all. Such a warm memory of her Thanksgiving table. Hubby's mom always makes the giblet gravy which he loves. I got several skillets of cornbread made and some of the chopping done. Woo Hoo on getting a Christmas project done! You go girl! I am still plugging away on mine too. LOL Nothing like taking it down to the wire. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving , Ginny. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving! Thankful for you!
ReplyDeleteAaw Happy Thanksgiving, Betty. I hope you are doing well. I was just thinking of you . It is so good to hear from you. I am so very grateful to you as well. You have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving. Warm hugs.
DeleteFantastic. Wonderful tour. Very warm colors. Hope you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteGabi
Aaw thank you so much, Gabi. I enjoyed the warm autumnal colors. Soon all of this will be changed to Christmas which I have to admit that I am anxious to work on. I wish you the most lovely afternoon, sweet friend. Hugs.
