Mutt and Jeff have been bad bad boys. ๐ฎ๐ฎ ( Not really , but they have been into some mischief and let's say a little less than cooperative .)
| Mutt and Jeff |
Aww but aren't they so cute?
Then Mama pushed against the gate which knocked against Dad. Grumble! Grumble! Now we cannot have that! Dad is okay,- a little bumped and bruised though. It was a frustrating experience to say the least.
Meanwhile, what did Jeff do? Well, he got into a tussle with Elmer the donkey. Gosh, it was a wild and woolly time at the old barn.

With all of the goings on, Skeeter the Barn cat sat among the tobacco sticks unamused at the twins and Mama's antics. Skeeter does not have time for such silliness. Now isn't Skeeter a cutie too?
Since it is Farm Friday, I will be working on Little House Needleworks "Farm Life" . I am using mystery flosses with this piece ( flosses that no longer have their labels or numbers. ) I am stitching it on 14 count aida that I tea dyed and baked in the oven. You may notice the fabric looks toasty. ๐ค

Love your 'Farmlife'. Never heard of the saying mystery flosses, but I am going to use it too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day !
The critters are definitely running amok and having a good time. LOL I love how toasty your fabric looks. Perfect project, too. Have fun with the mystery floss. Hugs, hugs and more hugs, DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteHow mischievous!๐๐
ReplyDeleteI see they gave you quite a bit of trouble before joining the group.
Beautiful Skeeter stole my heart!๐ฅฐ
Hugs and have a happy weekend
I really enjoy reading about the farm antics though I admit "rasslin" with the cows and such isn't my idea of a cup of tea ;-) Glad no one was really hurt but I guess that goes with the territory. The worst I get is scratches from the chickens when they don't co-operate. Loving the look of farm life - I think I'll look into getting this one. Have a great day - Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI must say, I don't like changes either--so I totally "get" Mutt and Jeff's antics hahaha;))))
ReplyDeleteI have been waffling about since the dawn of this New Year about what to begin on Helga for a machine project...cannot seem to get myself "mooooving" either...;))) hugs, Julierose
Wow you have some mischievous calves but gosh they are cute. I'm sure it doesn't feel good to have a cow crash up against you, poor Grandpa Pinker. Yes Skeeter is a beautiful kitty. I have several of those mystery flosses too!
ReplyDeleteMutt and Jeff are cuties even if they are mischief makers. Happy Friday, Melisa!
ReplyDeletegood morning sweet, sweet Melisa.
ReplyDeletequite the adventurous day yesterday. i hope your dad is doing well. geez mutt and jeff you need to come and live with me. apparently you don't like the competition of other moo moo's receiving attention. you are the cutest babies, however. i love mutt's side eye look. he's not having any of what you want to do. i don't think i've seen any photos of elmer. i know i have seen edna and she is the cutest. a little stubborn like the rest of the beautiful animals. skeeter looks a little flustered with all the noise and harriet (women always do) has to have the last word. i love all your animals. farm life is the best life!!! never a dull moment. lots of work, but teamwork makes the farm life dream work.
thank you for the lovely winter cross stitch pattern yesterday. very cute. you guessed it - i have it printed and in the "to do first" pile.
how are you doing Melisa? when i don't hear from you for a bit i get worried. you are so busy that i worry if you have tuckered yourself completely out. i hope the family is doing well.
i see that the truck, trailer and motorhome are all packed up and ready to go. it must be getting near to "start your engines" time. i hope you have an awesome journey. if you get out west to california look me up please - i'm in lakeside about 21 miles east of san diego. i'd love to meet you. in fact, i can meet you somewhere. we can say howdy and give each other one of my specialty "great big squeezy bear hugs". i will even share my hugs and give mr. pinker one, too.
you stay safe and enjoy your time away Melisa. many blessings and much love are on the way to you. have an awesome friday Melisa. i love your farm life cross stitch pattern. i googled where to purchase and found it on etsy. i purchased it. i love the saying and all the action in the piece. thank you for sharing your information.
hugs Melisa.

Well, Mutt and Jeff, you are too cute to be up to all that mischief! I hope you settle down and enjoy your new surroundings. That is a pretty stitching design, Melisa - and perfect for you!
ReplyDeletestitching news is always fun, but i do truly love the farm antics.! thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSuch Moo-vilous pics from the farm. Haha Skeeter looks like a serious fella but I bet he has a huge purr. Always enjoy Farm visits. I can't believe how green it is there. Very white out my window.
ReplyDeleteQuite a bit happening on the farm! And now a fence to repair, but I guess that was fixed rather promptly.
ReplyDeleteOh how this post made me laugh! Good thing those twins are so darn cute since they cause so much darn trouble! Hahaha! Glad you can relax now with some stitching. Hope you've got a glass of iced tea too and maybe a cookie?
ReplyDeleteOh how I love the farm pics. Mutt & Jeff remind me of one of my brother's steers in the past. The guy kept getting out. He would always go to my mom's yard nearby. People would drive by, stop, and tell her that her cow was out. One day my mom told my brother that she wanted half a beef... She pointed and said--That one! She was done with the steer getting out and took care of the situation her way. I'm pretty sure I got the other half that year.
ReplyDeleteDear Melisa--I haven't been commenting for the last year, but I've been reading your website and laughing at your "down home" conversation. Oh, I mean "down home" as in listening to my mother and her sisters laughing and talking in the kitchen and having the best time! It was 42* in the frozen north today. And not a snowflake in sight...maybe tomorrow. Since I've gotten some energy and brain power back after a few medical issues, I started cross stitching again. Guess what I'm working on...snowmen! I so appreciate the little patterns you offer. They are just the right size to get started and finished in a week or so. Oh, those boys! Are the calves any different than our children were? So cute, but not according to Skeeter. He has no time for such high jinks. Thanks again for all the patterns and ideas and for posting the links to some wonderful sites. When I'm feeling down you always pick me up with lovely projects and more "stitchy"
ReplyDeletefriends to visit. Enjoy your time away! Very sincerely, Kris in WI.
Such a cute post, Melisa. The twins are certainly a handful. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAlways fun reading your posts. Sounds like fun on the farm. Blessings,Margie \TN
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely time Harriet outside !
ReplyDeleteI'm a city girl, so now experience with cows. Hopefully the three have settled into their new digs with the new neighbors. Enjoy your stitching time.
