I skipped the watermelons and went straight for the lemons!
Welcome y'all. It's that time! Yep ! Time for another Country Clutter Tour.
Usually in July , I decorate the hutch and kitchen with watermelons and chickens, but this year I decided blueberries and lemons were on the menu.
Soon I cleaned off all of the tins from the "Take Me Out to the Ballgame " patriotic hutch and pulled out my lemon plates. These were new purchases from the Dollar Tree.
Playing off the blues in the lemon plates , I pulled out a couple of thrifted ironstone dishes. Aren't they lovely?
Behind my plates is a string of white Christmas lights that I plug in to give the hutch a little more light.
Soon the hutch was filled to the brim with "lemony goodness" ! Filling every square inch possible is just my style. Shall we take a look?!
I also left the forsythia vine draped from the top just because I love the color.
On the top shelf is a couple of stitches including "Home on Berry Lane" , a stitch I have not shared and Blueberry Basket
This gorgeous lavender sachet made from a vintage embroidery was a gift from a dear friend! I love it!!!๐๐๐ Thank you , Susan.
An old blue pitcher completes the top shelf decor.
Let's slide down to the 2nd shelf.
A little ceramic blueberry pie is beside it. Isn't the graphics gorgeous on the Mendets package? The Menndets is from the 1950's and were used to repair pots and pans- another thrifty find.
On the yellow riser is From the Heart Needleart's freebie called Floral Pinkeep. Teetered on top of a small stack of vintage lemon cups is Bee Berry
Did you notice my newest vintage doily? ๐๐๐ You can see a bit of it in the photo below. I believe it is a grape design- so stinkin' cute!
So that is it! Now tell me are your craving lemon blueberry squares with a cold glass of lemonade right now? Hee! Hee! I am !
I am so very grateful that you dropped by to visit me today!
I wish you a Sun Shiny Day!
As always,
Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all
Melisa

Good morning, Gabi and Happy happy Tuesday. I can not help but smiling when I see anything yellow. I was excited to use my new lemon dishes. Hee! Hee! Have a beautiful day and thank you for dropping by. Hugs.
DeleteI love the changes to your hutch, but it sure made my mouth water when I saw all the lemons. It was really funny! I was trying to pick out a couple of "favorite" things, but I really couldn't do it. All the yellow is beautiful. Have a fabulous Tuesday. Darlene J
ReplyDeleteLOL , I was ready for some fresh lemonade after decorating it. Hee! Hee! Thank you so much, Darlene. I ended up breaking one of my favorite pieces while decorating the hutch. I have been scrambling around looking for all of the pieces in hopes of glueing it. LOL. But all of the yellows are making my heart sing. Thank you for the sweet Tuesday visit. Hugs.
DeleteI'm showing my age but I remember Betty Furness! I probably remember her more through my mom and dad tho but still... Thank you for the tour - so pretty all that yellow. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that cookbook fabulous? Mine is falling apart, but I love looking at the old recipes. I have a thing for recipe books. LOL. Thank you so much, Donna for the sweet Tuesday visit. Hugs.
DeleteWhat a fun tour of the lemon-blueberry hutch, Melisa! The lemon plates along with the blue ironwear plates are so pretty. I think you need to create a lemon or two cross stitch pieces.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the new lemon plates at the Dollar Tree I knew I wanted to pair them with the blues. Oooh a lemon cross stitch- I am going to have to think of one. Thank you so much for dropping by, Robin. I hope you are enjoying a day with needle and thread. Hugs.
DeleteIt always amazes me that you have so many decorations perfect for your hutch!
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Vicki. I have been collecting/ hoarding ( Hee! Hee) for many years. I like anything that reminds me of my grandparents and brings back fond memories of days long ago. Have a beautiful day and Happy quilting. Hugs.
DeleteYour hutch is beautifully decorated--I really love those "lemon" cups and the matching teapot:))) You've collected so many lovely things and this display has to be one of my favorites of yours;))) Thanks so much for sharing it with us--really a "spirit lifter" in those colors...
ReplyDeletehugs, Julierose
I think the lemon teapot and cups are some of my favorite pieces as well. Those were a great thrifty find from years ago. The yellows lift my spirits as well and brings a lot of light to the room. Thank you so much for the sweet Tuesday visit, Julierose. I hope you are having a great day. Hugs.
DeleteLove seeing your hutch all decked out in its glory. Yellow is my favorite color and each shelf looks so happy. Thanks for sharing with us. ❤️๐ค
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Patti. Yellow is one of my favorite colors as well. I really enjoyed pairing it with the blues. I hope you are having a wonderful day and are staying cool. How are you liking your new apartment? I hope you are all settled in and enjoying it. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteLOVE the yellows with the touch of blue! I just ordered a bright blue bath runner with yellow towels for our bathroom, what a coincidence! My Mom bought two little surf/mountain paintings when she visited Hawaii, and the main colors in them are blues and yellows. They will be the inspiration for those new colors in our bathroom. I just downloaded your blueberry sampler - I think it would be fine to decorate our bathroom. :D
ReplyDeleteOh how fun, Linda. Your bathroom will look amazing in blues and yellows. I bet the paintings are so cheerful and what sweet gift from your Mom. I live in an old house and one of my bathrooms has a blue toilet, bathtub, sinks and tile floors so I painted the walls a light chiffon yellow and decorate it in blue transferware . It is an easy room to decorate since I have to go with blues, whites and yellows. LOL. I am so touched that you downloaded the blueberry sampler .I hope you enjoy every stitch. Have a beautiful and blessed day, Linda. Hugs.
DeleteGreat lemon and blueberry display, Melisa. The Ironstone is perfect with the new lemon plates. There are so many things to love on the hutch, I can't pick a favorite.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Jeanna. It was fun to do something a little different with the hutch. I am really enjoying the colors and the cheerfulness . I always enjoying seeing your Hoosier displays- so much inspiration. Have a fabulous day . I hope you are staying cool and comfy. Hugs.
DeleteMelisa,

Oh thank you from the bottom of my heart , Deb. You are always an inspiration to me. I am like you- I would rather decorate my kitchen than cook. Hee! Hee! Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteI look forward to your posts so much. They brighten my day. I recently had to place my mom in a nursing home due to dementia and it has been heartbreaking for me. I have been so required by her with her care that I kind of lost things that I enjoyed doing. Cross Stitch being a huge relaxing, enjoyable thing to me. So now, I am praying, taking a breather, and picking up my needle again. Reading your posts is like talking to a good friend/neighbor. So thank you for all the wonderful things you share with us. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteAaah bless your heart! I know you worry so for your dear Mom. Being a caregiver can be difficult, but what a blessing that you are there for your Mom . It is hard to see a loved one go through dementia isn't it? I will keep you and your Mom in my prayers. It is nice to hear that you are picking up the needle again. Hopefully , it will bring comfort and take your mind off things even for just a bit. After my sister passed away , I did not know if I would find joy again, but cross stitch and quilting has been a blessing. It warms my heart that you spend a little bit of your time with me each day. I can not tell you how much that means to me. I am so humbled by your kindness. I wish you a beautiful day, dear . Warm Hugs from the holler. Blessings.
DeleteI really enjoy all of your Hutch Tours and this one is especially sweet. Lemons and Blueberries, what could say Summer more deliciously!! I do remember Betty Furness fondly, and I am ancient, so what a great reminder. My mom was a fan of hers and so memories abound. Can not wait for the next House to appear, so many thanks to you for your generous heart to all of us who faithfully follow you blog. Have a wonderful week and enjoy all the summer happenings. Many hugs from sunny Arizona.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon, Mary and Happy Tuesday. Aah thank you so much for the kind words on my newest hutch display. It was a little different than what I had done before. Betty Furness was a beauty. Isn't that Betty Furness cookbook the bomb? LOL. I have been working on the house today. I hope to have it completed soon. It has been a fun one to work on. Thank you , Mary for being so supportive and for the encouragement and love . You always make my day! Have a beautiful day. Hugs.
DeleteYour hutch is so decorated so cutely, Melisa! I love blue and yellow as a color combination, and they're a yummy taste combination, too. That Floral Pinkeep design is lovely - I like seeing how you finish things! (And the peek at your sunflower embroidery, too - love it!)
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Diann. I enjoyed pulling out all the sunshine- with the lemons and the blues fit in perfectly. The Floral Pinkeep was a fabulous fun stitch ; I painted the little thrifted frame and was so pleased with how it came out. Have a wonderful day. Happy quilting and stitching .Hugs.
DeleteYou can't beat the yellow/blue combination for a cheery, happy display. Just love all your yellow and blue goodies in your hutch, Melisa! Enjoy your day! ♥
ReplyDeleteYellows and blues do play perfectly together don't they? Thank you so much , Carol for the sweet Tuesday visit. I hope you are having a wonderful day and are getting in some stitching time yourself. Hugs.
DeleteGosh, Melisa! It all looks amazing. Love all your vintage pieces. Thank you for the links to so many cross stitch patterns, and those sunflowers are looking lovely too! Thank you for sharing so much with us! ๐ค๐๐♀️๐xx Barbara @flashinscissors
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you very kindly, Barbara for dropping by to visit me and the sweetest compliments. I hope you are having a great day and are enjoying some stitching time yourself. I have been working on the Sunflowers this morning and a bit of finishing. I hope to pick up my needle again here soon. Stay cool , sweet friend and happy stitching. Hugs.
DeleteBlue & yellow are so classically beautiful together! This hutch display is a Win! Lemon & Blueberry bars sound really yummy! The forsythia garland is a favorite. I have 2 bushes in my front yard and love forward to heir blooms every year. Those sunflowers look to be just perfect for some August sharing, I'd say.
ReplyDeleteThis was the 1st time I had paired the lemons with the blues. They do look so pretty together. I used to have a forsythia bush in the yard years ago, but alas, it had to go when the septic tank was dug up. Forsythia is such a beautiful bush especially early spring. Perhaps I need to plant another one. Oh yes I was able to get the bowls, teacups and saucers. I have always had a deep affection for blue and white dishes. Thank you for the afternoon visit, Ginny. Have a great evening . Hugs.
DeleteI meant to ask and spaced it - are the little blue and white bowls part of the big plate set? Those are such beautiful dishes.
ReplyDeleteYou have achieved a very Mediterranean decoration with lemons and blue and white tones, Melisa
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable!!!
Hugs
Oh how fun, Isabel. I did not realize it had a Mediterranean feel to this display. That warms my heart. I have enjoyed the lemons with all of the blues. Thank you so much for bringing a smile to my day. Hugs.
