A Little Bit of This and That

Rise and Shine,  Sunshine! Another glorious day awaits us!

What do you have on the agenda today? Perhaps some sloooow stitching!? ? Grab your needle and thread ! I sure could use some help on "Alabama Beauty". I am as slow as molasses on quilting this beauty.

As they say though- "Every stitch counts!"

Aren't the old fabrics just yummy?!

Summer Checklist  which I shared earlier this summer is nearing a finish. I will add a running stitch in brown floss  1/4 " from the border.

Excuse me a minute while I do  the   happy dance ! YEEEHAW!

I stitched at lat 15 minutes everyday this week, and a few  stitches have made their way out of the "Basket of Waiting to Be Finished"   and onto the finishing table!!!! Yahoo!

The first is "Q" from "  Stitcher's Alphabet" by Brookes Book Publishing. It is a freebie that I stitched in 2020.

"Berries" is another finish that I made into a pillow. It was one of  mine that I was not satisfied with , but I did want to finish it.

Now onto the plans for the week.

Hmm.... What Should I do This Week?
๐ŸŒž1. Quilt on Scrapberries
๐ŸŒž2.Work on Thanksgiving Mason jar
๐ŸŒž3. Quilt "Alabama Beauty" .
๐ŸŒž4. Work  on Mini Bouquet Sampler.
Progress as of June 1, 2024

Progress  as of July 12, 2024

๐ŸŒž5.Piece more Potato Chip Blocks- two more blocks are added to the chip stack.

๐ŸŒž6. Add binding to Summer Checklist.
๐ŸŒž7. Place the Berry Season Quilt in the hoop. Eeeh! I finished the embroidery work!

๐ŸŒž8. Whatever suits my fancy!

I will close with a little patriotic quilt stack. Annie and the gang are on top of the stack  in the  Stars, Stripes and Chickens  stitch.

As always,

Happy Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

  2. Your Alabama Beauty is lovely. I'd be happy to help you stitch on it but it's not something you'd like. My grandmother enjoyed hand quilting but I never had her teach me. She taught me to sew and hand embroidery, but we missed time for hand quilting. Yours is beautiful, Melisa. Darlene J

    1. Aaah it is so heart warming that your grandmother taught you to sew and embroider. I bet you have so many fond memories with you dear grandma. My Nanny sewed all the time too, but alas she did not teach me her sewing skills. I hope you had a wonderful Sunday and wish you a great week. Stay cool . Hugs.

  3. I'd be glad to sit and stitch Alabama Beauty while you stitch some of your lovely counted cross stitching. Then we could eat some biscuits dripping with honey! Happy stitching!

  5. You have such fun projects in the works. Your two cross stitch finishes turned out beautifully. That Q for Quilt one is my favorite, it has a lot of detail to be so small!

  6. You have a busy week planned. Who does the cooking while you stitch ;-) or is your slow cooker going? LOL. I worked on repairing a quilt - some grand daughters stuck their feet through little holes which became big holes. Sigh. The quilt is about 20 years old and is well loved. Blessings!

    1. It was a good week, Donna; I am surprised by how much I completed. I am one lucky gal that hubby likes to cook when I am busy. If he cooks , he usually makes enough to last a 2-3 days. LOL. Those little precious footsies could not resist the holes in the quilt could they? Bless their hearts. I hope you were able to mend the quilt with no problems. It warms the heart to hear that the quilt is well loved especially by the grandchildren. Have a blessed day. Hugs.

  14. You are Miss Speedy getting the berry quilt embroideries done already. Is that a turkey I see in that mason jar?! Wahoo! Thanks for the link and rabbit hole to Brooke's Books. She has some cute stitches. Your Q stitch block is very pretty! The Mini Bouquet Sampler is just getting more and more beautiful! The Potato Chips will just grow and grow. They really are addictive. The geese reminded me of the slough at the farm. We had nesting families every summer. Do you have goslings, too?

    1. I can not believe I was able to get the berry quilt completed this week. I hope I can get it quilted just as quickly, Ginny. Oh gosh, Brooke does have the cutest patterns. There are so many that I want to stitch. Isn't the alphabet the cutest? These geese were at the river, but not on our farm. They are all over the place at the river. Every time I see them I have to take photos. I love the goslings. LOL. Have an awesome week and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
