Happy Tuesday, dear friends.
Did you know that today is National Carrot Cake Day? Oh yum! What I wouldn't give to have a large slice of carrot cake dripping with cream cheese icing right now. Hee! Hee! Last year , I shared my Carrot Cake recipe which I always prepare for Easter. It is a family favorite.
Of all my cake pans, the carrot cake always seems to bake the best in my Nanny's old Bundt pan; I believe it is a magical cake pan blessed by my Nanny. š¤
I have many fond memories of her baking Lemon Bundt cakes using this pan. Her icing was always homemade and lip smacking good. I have yet to find her recipe, but I will continue the search through her recipe collection.
Do you have a family favorite cake recipe?

Today is "Tiny Tuesday " stitching day for me. My dear friend, Christina on Instagram started this years ago, and I have stitched teeny pieces ever since. Hi, Christina! š❤
I will begin my March Tiny House. But first let me show you February's "Tiny Love House".
Tiny Love House is a little pink House surrounded by hearts- so simple, but so cute- well at least in my eyes.
Tiny Love House has the same border as my January's "Tiny Winter's Day House. "
My goal is to stitch 12 houses. They will all have the same border in the same color which is DMC 898. All of my "tiny houses" will be finished the same with a bit of fabric and lace. I shared a finishing tutorial in my January 13th post along with the Tiny Winter Day House.
| Supplies gathered for finishing |
If you are interested in stitching this piece, just grab , the images. For printing tips, refer to the post Tips for Printing which has loads of tips from my sweet friends.

Hopefully by the year's end, I will have a dough bowl full of teeny, tiny, seasonal houses- that's the goal at least.
Well, I better pick up my needle and thread and get to work. Do you have any special projects in the works today?
Remember to take a little time for yourself and do something that you love . You deserve it! š¤
Warm Winter Wishes and lots of hugs and ...
Happy Stitching and Quilting,
y'all

I popped in to get the chart for the January Little House - yes, I'm already behind. LOL Lo and behold you've posted the February Little House and it's adorable. Guess what I'll be stitching tomorrow after I do a few chores. Seriously, they are both wonderful, beautiful, cute, adorable, etc. Take good care! Hugs, DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteI am currently stitching your latest Winter Saltbox design and told myself NOT to start with these little houses, but you make it soo difficult for me !!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day !
Love your tiny houses and admire your creativity. My favoriete cakes are orangecake and applicatie. Have a wonderfull day!
ReplyDeleteYour tiny love house is absolutely adorable š©·❤️ Thanks for the pattern. K from NY
ReplyDeleteOur family has never been big on cake though I do love a good cake. Now, brownies.....YUM! Your Tiny houses are so cute - "if you create them, we will come" LOL! I'm hoping to stitch them all together and make them a wall hanging - 3 across 4 down. Similar to your seasonal stamps. May I? Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little house! Did I miss you coming back home, or are you still camping? Your Nanny's Bundt pan looks wonderful, I bet her cakes were so good. Mom always made yellow cake with chocolate frosting for my birthday, so that is my sentimental favorite. The best cake I ever had (other than Mom's) was Southern Living's Chocolate Velvet Cake with Butter Pecan frosting. A preacher's wife made it for a church luncheon in 2005, and it was insanely good. You can see I'm still thinking about it 20 years later!
ReplyDeleteOh Melisa, this is adorable!! Thanks so much for this Tiny Love House! Have a great week and stay safe. Hugs, B
ReplyDeletePS: My Mama always made Lemon Supreme Pound Cakes for my dad. He loved them. They were good, but my favorite she made was at Christmas when she would make a fresh coconut cake and a Lane Cake. I had no idea (and maybe she didn't add liquor?? but when I looked up the recipe this is what I found: "Lane cake is a traditional Southern dessert featuring white cake layers with a rich, bourbon-spiked filling of raisins, pecans, and coconut, topped with a fluffy frosting, and is the official state dessert of Alabama." I just remember it was good!
DeleteThat carrot cake recipe looks so yummy...[my Grand-mere's specialty was pies--all kinds--her crust was sooo flakey and delicious. These days I buy Pillsbury as my crusts never seem to come out right!! I think her secret was lard for shortening..??? But I digress--again ] Anyway--she made a wonderful apple cake that I really loved. Like apple pie in cake form--yummeee..
