Peaceful Days

Good Monday Morning, Sunshine! Rise and Shine!  How are you doing on this lovely day? I do hope you the winter days are treating you well.

Mr. Pinker and I have been enjoying some quiet , peaceful days at camp.

Ever so often we take the side by side and head up into the hills or maybe to town in order to fetch water, but otherwise we are taking it slow and easy.

I am slowly but surely making progress on my "Pretty in Peach" Butterfly quilt. This is the 3rd mourning quilt that I am making in memory of my sweet baby sis.

I thought I had a larger hoop stashed in the old truck camper, but when I pulled it out from behind the fridge, I realized it was my small one. Oh well, it will do until I get home. ๐Ÿ˜

I finished quilting the 1st butterfly.  I am moving on to the "nine patch variation "  block.

This block is 15 " squared ( finished).

I am going to quilt a flower motif in these blocks. It did not take long to pull out some cracker boxes and make cardboard templates to aid in drawing the quilting lines.  I imagine that is what my Great Grandma Annie did. Do you do the same?

What else have I been working on? Hmmm, Well I started the border for "Winter's Welcome"  which is one of my creations. Fingers crossed the borders will meet. Hee! Hee!

The beginnings of "Winter's Welcome " using 14 count Aida which has been dyed with Rit Charcoal Gray Dye.

And... I  dusted off "Gathering Love" and pulled it out of the long forgotten WIP basket.  Maybe it will be finished this year. We shall see.

Working on a lovely lass in "Gathering Love" ( one of my designs).

Oooh I almost forgot! I have been on a roll crocheting little hearts. ๐Ÿ˜€❤ I am an absolute beginner so they are not perfect, but goodness, they are so much fun.

I have been referring to 2 lovely ladies who have posted  wonderful tutorials on Youtube-  GS Crochet - How to Crochet a Heart- Beginner's Tutorial    and  Retired Happy- Valentine Ready...

Well , Sweeties.. I am off to get my morning coffee and then sit back and quilt for a spell.

Now let's go and rock this day!

As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting,

y'all

Melisa

  8. So nice to "see" you and know that you and Mr. Pinker are enjoying peaceful days. Makes my heart smile. I've said it before and I'll say it again - you are so incredibly productive and always work on the cutest and sweetest things. You are an inspiration!
My grandmother was a hand quilter so I do remember she would draw her motifs on pieces of cardboard. I regret so much that I didn't learn more from her, but I do give her all the credit for teaching me to enjoy sewing. Those memories will live forever in my heart. And, before I forget those crocheted hearts are adorable. Take care of yourself and Mr. Pinker. Lots of Hugs, DarleneJ
