ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Enjoy your travels this winter.
ReplyDeleteSo much beauty--even in the winter desert! Loved your photos today, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful, peaceful place! Those cactus photos are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYes, those are Joshua trees. They are named after Joshua in the Bible. The local Mormon pioneers thought they looked like Joshua raising his hands in prayer to God. They are amazing in the moon light, an ancient soul praising God.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely greener here than most years we have seen, so pretty. Glad you are enjoying some cactus time;)
ReplyDeleteThe desert is just so pretty - my son lived outside of Joshua Tree National Park for a while and I loved to visit.. in the winter- when it wasn't 1000 degrees haha!!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that the Octotillo cactus is also known as Christ's Crown of thorns. When they bloom they have beautiful little heart shaped red flowers near each thorn to represent Christ's blood. I love all your beautiful pictures.
