Laying out my Blocks

The blocks are all trimmed and squared. I better get to work!

Good morning, Sweeties and Happy Wednesday. I woke up yesterday with the sniffles. Yuck! Double Yuck!  But that was not going to put a damper on my parade.

By mid morning, I had finished my Nine Patch Variation blocks. I just needed 10 blocks which did not take too long as Beulah aka my sewing machine cooperated quite nicely.

I was ready to layout my Pretty in Peach Butterfly quilt.

This is an interesting layout of the Nine Patch Variation blocks.  Don't ya' think?

๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹

But wait! After looking at my blocks I realized my butterfly blocks were 1 " larger than my Nine Patch blocks . "What the blazes?" I asked myself.

Time to trim and square the butterfly blocks. I need to lose an inch.

I went back to my blog post in January  and realized that I had thought I had cut my peach background blocks to 15 1/2" but cut them 16 1/2". No problem. ๐Ÿคท I just trimmed and squared them up.

Now I  can get down to the nitty gritty and piece them into rows.   ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฆ‹

Today Mr. Pinker and I have to make the hour long trek to the "big city"; we are leaving 2 hours ahead of time because ya' never know  traffic will be.   Anywhoo..... I have a doctor's appointment and Mr. Pinker is more than happy to chauffeur me around. Hee! Hee! Afterwards , we will finish up our Christmas shopping.

Hopefully , it will not take too awful long for I have a quilt to piece.

Keep those needles flying and ... I wish you the most Merry day!

As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting,

 y'all

  1. A lovely butterfly filled quilt and thank goodness your blocks were big enough to cut down. I know it was a welcome relief. Whew!
A trip to the big city will be a fun outing and one you and Mr Pinker will enjoy. Going out can be so much fun but I enjoy coming home much more. I truly am a homebody. LOL
I've been spending lots and lots of time sleeping and x-stitching. I've even scouted your blog for more sweet designs. teehee! I know something will jump off a page or two.
Have fun tomorrow. Big Hugs, DarleneJ

  2. What a pretty butterfly quilt! ๐Ÿฆ‹ I'm glad you were able to trim the blocks! Do you hand quilt all your quilts? I've never tried that...and I doubt i would ever get any finished because of my lack of free time ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿซฃ Sewing on the binding takes me long enough ๐Ÿคฃ
I too have to go into the "big city" for a doctor appointment and a bit of shopping...but mine is only 15-20 min away ๐Ÿ˜ Enjoy your day, and i hope you won't get stuck in traffic! Hugs and love from Maine, -Alex ๐Ÿค—
