Did I make progress on my January 1, 2025 goals List this year? Well a little bit.
Let's take a lookie! π
On January 1st , I posted four quilts that I wanted to make progress on .
JANUARY 1st 2025 GOAL # 1
π§΅1. Flaming Butterflies- It is my focus quilt for 2025. I want to have it finished this year.
SO HOW DID I DO?
⭐ Yeehaw! I get a golden star for I completed this goal. This quilt was made up of scrappy thrifted butterflies that I appliqued while in AZ. It is in memory of my sister.
My heart was all "a flutter" when I completed Flaming Butterflies this year. π¦π¦π¦π¦
Even Blackie approved of my finish.

π§΅2. The Easter Quilt. Do you remember that one? I did not mention it in 2024 because I was just plumb embarrassed that it is hanging on like a hair in a biscuit.ππ I started it ages and ages ago, and I still do not have the quilting finished. Oh boy, I am a Miss Slowpoke. -

SO HOW DID I DO?
⭐Hip Hip Hooray! I am on a roll! I finished it too! I get another gold star! Excuse me a moment while I break out into a happy dance. πππ
π§΅3. Rainbow Sherbet- I would like to get 1/2 of it completed. It is indeed a slow stitch. I bought this quilt top at the World's Longest Yard Sale a few years ago.
SO HOW DID I DO?
❌ YIKES! A Swing and a Miss! Big Strike out on this one. I don't think I put in one single stitch on Rainbow Sherbet. Now what was wrong with me? π₯΄π³
Hmmm ... THINK... THINK... THINK... Should Rainbow Sherbet move on to the goal list of 2026? We shall see. π€π€π€
I am biting my nails! How did I fare on Goal #4?
GOAL #4 as of JANUARY 1, 2025
π§΅4. Mason Jar Blocks- I would also like to work on my Mason Jar blocks if I can find them. ππ³ππ€¨π Hmm, where did those blocks disappear to?
❌ STRIKE TWO! Oh BUTTERSCOTCH! The mason jar quilt blocks are nowhere to be found. Hmmm, I may have to put a BOLO alert for these blocks. Has that stitching bandit been back to my house? Hee! Hee!
Well there you go.ππ Only half completed . Hmmph a score of a 50 - not very good in my eyes! But on the other hand , it is better than nothing. π
Oh well, I better skip to the quilt room and decide which quilty projects will be on my 2026 GOAL LIST.
Will you be making some quilty goals for yourself?
I will be gearing up for my New Year's Day start tonight. I will show it to you tomorrow.
How about we ring in the year with our fabrics flying and our needles on fire?! Sounds good to me. How about you?
Have a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve, Sweeties.
Happy Stitching and Quilting,y'all
Melisa

You made a lot of stitches in 2025, well done !
ReplyDeleteNo, I will not make a t o do list for 2026. I just want to stitch and enjoy it.
Have a wonderfull last day of the year !
Think of your lovely finishes as "glass half full" and celebrate. The ones you didn't finish as you would have preferred would be eventual bonus finishes. Give yourself grace and simply enjoy and celebrate everything do. I don't make lists because I truly just set myself up for failure. I prefer to fly by the seat of my pants. Like, Annelies I just want to stitch, sew, etc and enjoy it. 2025 was a horrible year for me so I'm praying for a much better year in 2026. Big New Year Hugs, DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteI like the quote you shared. And you should be proud of everything you've accomplished this year! I'm still in awe that you hand quilt all your quilts! I do everything by machine and still don't get as much done as you do π€£ I haven't set any quilty or stitchy goals for 2026 yet but I might do that today. You inspired me π
ReplyDeleteThank you for a year full of wonderful blog posts! I enjoyed every single one of them.
Have a very happy new year and all the best to you for 2026! I know our sisters are looking down, enjoying all the things we create π₯°

I think you are just amazing to have done all you have!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with DarleneJ “glass half full”. It is amazing how much you accomplished this year including embroidery, cross stitch, decorating, and blogging while traveling and spending time with family. I make a list, but use it more as a guide to help me decide which projects to do next. Each month I review my list - finished projects are moved to a list according to the month they were completed. I plan to begin the new year cross stitching. Have a safe and happy New Year. Alicia
ReplyDeleteI think I finished all but one of "my" quilts - Only because I didn't have it scheduled for this year! :-O! Lol. The ones for gifts were done. The bowtie my d-i-l found was put aside - I knew I would be able to get to it for a long time. The one dd gave me to repair was also put aside - I said after the new year. So, I'll be working on the repair and maybe - just maybe - get a start on the bowtie - I need to find backing and batting now! Happy New Year! Blessings!
ReplyDelete"A hair in a biscuit" - LOL! Melisa all your projects are so pretty, and it is fun to see your list and see what you accomplished. Good luck in finding your missing blocks next year and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteTwo great finishes this year! I found missing parts, 2 years later in the bottom of a basket when cleaning. Hope yours turn up soon. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2026.
ReplyDeleteYou've reached 50% of your goal, which is fantastic, Melisa!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very creative 2026, but above all, a very happy year.
May you have good health to enjoy the things you love most.
Happy New Year!!
I wish you a wonderful New Year--full of love and laughter!!:))))
ReplyDelete[No goals for me, missy!! ;0000 too much pressure on this ole heart!! hahaha] Just kidding you--but really, you did wonderfully finishing those quilts, Melissa. I haven't kept track but did finish the Blues in the Night and Sunrise, Sunset at least....
I so appreciated all your encouraging words throughout this past year...thank you....

Two hits is better than none and 2026 is available for additional finishes. . . .Here's to wishing you a creative and happy 2026!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteWell now, dear Melisa, 50% is better than 25% or 0%!! I'm amazed that you hand quilt all your quilts and I think two in a year is a great feat!! Wishing you a wonderfully blessed, happy, and healthy New Year, my friend! Hugs!
Bises
ReplyDeleteI'd say your 50% is better than my score. I can't even remember what goals I set, if any. Congrats on finishing Flaming Butterflies and the Easter quilt.
