Magical Monday

News Alert ! News Alert!

Whewww! All is well!

Mr. Pinker and I searched every nook and cranny the other day for my missing cross stitches which are usually stored on a certain shelf but  to no avail . Then  yesterday I pulled out my Christmas  cross stitch bins and  low and behold there they were!   Who would have thunk? Hee! Hee! Well not me! ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ™„

Obviously, some sneaky elf  slipped them in the bins. Now I ask you,- Why would Christmas cross stitches be in   Christmas cross stitch bins? Hee! Hee! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚  Silly me.

In 2 shakes of a lamb's tail , I high tailed it upstairs to deck the buffet with more Santas. I was certainly a jolly gal!

Mr. Pinker just shook his head ."Like I told you, " he said "You would find them in plain sight. "

I will continue decking the halls with my stitches this week. I still have a couple of trees to decorate including the Barnyard Tree.

Loads and Loads of stitched pieces are making their way out of the bins

Oh , but I have lots of other Christmas fun in the works!

A few years ago, I purchased a bag of pieced Christmas fans that were begging to be put into a quilt.

Thrifted pieced fans ready to be appliqued.

Well, you know the story- they went straight to the quilt room and placed on a shelf to be forgotten.

Then a few months ago I picked them up and moved them to the camper as a project for when I was on the go. Well that never happened so the other day, I asked Mr. Pinker to go down to the camper to get them and lickety split he did.

I was grinning ear to ear when he brought them up to the house to me. "Today is the day!" I shouted.

I have never made a fan quilt before. I measured the arch and ended up cutting my pink background fabrics 10 1/2" squared.

Background fabric is 10 1/2"

This will be a long term, slow stitching project and will be great for this winter when we are  camping, but for now I will work on a few blocks each week.

Three blocks completed. Woo Hoo!

Alrighty, Sweet Peas, I am off to see what I can get into. I am sure I can muster up some kinda trouble. How about you?

Have a magical day!

Isn't this snowman the sweetest?

 As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Melisa

Thank you for the sweet visit.

"Christmas is a magical time of the year .  " - unknown.

Hugs and Stitches!!!!๐Ÿค—๐Ÿงต❤

Dedicated to my baby sister, Amy. Love and miss you, Amo.

On the finishing table is the Prairie Schooler piece that I stitched years ago in colors that remind me of my daughters.

  1. Yeehaw the case of the missing Santas has been solved. WooHoo!!! Gotta love the Christmas fans - so many cute prints. My goodness look at that huge pile of Christmas finishes. I finished the Christmas design I've worked on all week and I'm super happy the stitching is done. Picture is posted on IG. I hope you'll pop by to visit.
Now I'm searching through your blog for a house to stitch - it's been way too long since I've stitched one. Insert sad face!
Happy Monday - big hugs, DarleneJ

I have dabbled in stitching for about 35 years, but all of these pieces are from the last 8. I bet you can tell I love Christmas time . Thank you so much for bringing the biggest smile to my day. I am so touched that you enjoy how I writing. I still get butterflies when I post. LOL Warm Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. Oh thank you so much, Vicki. I have to admit I did not think I would find them until after Christmas was over with. I had to giggle when you said you sometimes put other seasonal items in the wrong bins. I may have been guilty of that once or twice. Sssh but don't tell anyone. Hee! Hee! Thank you for the sweet visit and have a fantastic day. Hugs.

  10. good morning silly Melisa.
the missing santas are now on their tree where they are supposed to be. i am sooooo happy you found them. i'm with you. when something is not where it is supposed to be drives me crazy and stays on my brain - front and center - until i find what i was looking for. the uneasiness can be very overwhelming.
your fan quilt is going to be very beautiful. you are so very talented. you can make magic with just about anything. you remind me so much of my friend Debbie. she is so very talented and makes magic, too.
how is your peppermint pinwheel quilt coming along? i can't wait to see it finished. it is going to be so beautiful. did you ever put the sizes on the blog? i'm going to go back and see. i may have already printed the instructions. who knows? i have so many pieces in my printed bin of all the things you make that grab me by my heart.
i hope you enjoyed the grandbabies yesterday. my dinner with Angela, Scott (Angela's husband), Amanda, Riley (Amanda's sweetie), and me was so yum yum good. it was such a great way to spend the afternoon with family. i enjoyed it so much. my husband didn't go because he is having a COPD flare-up. whenever the weather changes, humid to cold, to hot, to humid, to rain, etc. he gets pretty sick. i am treating him at home like the hospital would treat him (i add in the wet noodle smack - hee hee - every now and then). he's getting better it just takes time.
i pray that you have an amazing day and many magical moments are made. special memories are keepers.
blessings and love are coming your way Melisa. stay safe and sew, stitch, sew, stitch you make beautiful pieces.
    hugs Melisa and family.

    1. Happy Happy Monday, sweet Debra. Oh I am so glad that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your dear daughter and family. I bet the table was filled with delectable food , but the best part is just enjoy the fam. Right? I am so sorry your dear hubby could not attend. But I bet you brought him a big plate to enjoy later. I do hope that he feels better soon. I know that you are a good nurse and will take good care of him. The change of weather can wear on one. Right? It is supposed to cold here again soon. Brrr. I am not ready for that. Well, I had hoped to piece 20 more Peppermint Pinwheels this weekend, but I only pieced 10 so that is on the agenda today. Oh yes, the Nov. 5th post has my measurements. The unfinished block size is 8 1/2". Last night I worked on my bow tie quilt. I am on a mission. Hee! Hee! Well, Sweetie, I will let you go. Have a beautiful day. Big hugs and lots of love.

  20. Hurray, hurray, the Santas are back. What a relief. I am sure they were exactly there where they had to be. Gave me a loud laugh and remineded me of myself. I looked for my Xmas CD by Jim Reeves and I knew I put it in the cupboard after Xmas. But last year... where is it? I searched for one year. I looke into the box once, twice... no CD. But... hurray... yesterday the CD jumped right into my hand. Pffff, happy me.
    Wish you a wonderful day,
