I started this little quilt a couple of years ago using Halloween fabrics that had been in my stash for eons. Though it is not perfect, I think it turned out pretty cute despite all of the creepy crawlies.๐ท๐ท๐ท Hee! Hee! I shared the measurements in my Sept . 15 2021 post.

Boo Hoo!  Ole' Edna is sad and lonely!
Her bestie-  Rodster the bull has returned to his home farm after spending many months courting the gals. Most of the time he and Edna would be seen grazing together .  When Rodster was hauled away, Edna was none too happy and was quite a spectacle.๐๐ Thankfully, she has calmed down now. Bless her  pea pickin' heart. ❤
| Goodbye, Rodster. I hope you return next spring. You are adorable! |

DeleteWhat a cute quilt Melisa! Would you believe I have no Halloween prints in my stash? I'm probably the only quilter who has none. I do have orange and black and purple though . . .
ReplyDeletePoor Edna! Hopefully her BFF will get to return.
We are slowly winding down after a busy week and looking forward to dinner at Chili's tomorrow - margarita here I come! :D
Mmmm Chili's Yum Yum! Have a wonderful Halloween dinner, Linda. I am jealous. Hee! Hee! Hmmm maybe I can convince Mr. Pinker to take me out for a treat. LOL. There is no telling how long that Halloween fabric has been in my stash. I was thinking about it the other night wondering where it came from. LOL. Thank you for the sweet visit. Happy Halloween. Hugs.
DeleteThese days everything is covered in skeletons, spiders, pumpkins, and other stuff...
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous quilt, Melisa!
Oh, poor Edna... I love her friendship with that handsome bull.
Kisses from Spain
Aaah thank you so much, Isabel. Oh yes, they make all kinds of printed Halloween fabrics . I like the less spooky ones. LOL. Edna and Rodster made a strange pair, but were cute together. If you saw one you saw the other. LOL Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteCute and just in time to use this year!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Vicki. Now onto the next little quilt. LOL. Happy Happy quilting. Hugs.
DeletePoor Edna! Hope Rodster returns in the spring.
ReplyDeleteI have a soft spot for Edna. She is sometimes moody and doesn't always like being with the cows, but she and Rodster seemed to get along well. Thank you for the sweet Thursday visit, Robin. Hugs.
DeleteCute Halloween --but ugh those creepies get to me...hahaha:))) I am onto the final little quiltlet to machine this morning for this round. Next round will be finding and making bindings for them all... will be looking forward to your Christmas project.
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week hugs, Julierose
LOL I completely understand about the spiders, Julierose. As long as I don't see them in real life- yikes! You are moving right along on all of your beautiful quilts. Hmmm will you be doing an end of the year wrap up post on all of the quilts you have made this year? You have had so many lovelies in the works. Have a great weekend. Hugs.
Deletegood morning sweetheart Melisa.
ReplyDeletethank you so much for the re-instruction of your shoo fly shoo. this time i remembered to print the instructions. it is such a fun little quilt. this quilt could actually be made up for all holidays: thanksgiving, valentine's day, st. patrick's day, all of them. there is something special about every month. thank you Melisa.
aw poor Rodster is leaving his lady friends. he's be back again - watch out ladies when he does come back. he's going to be ready for some cuddlin and lovin. he is one handsome big boy, however. Edna your grazin buddy will be back next year.
i hope you have an awesome Thursday. i need to take my mom to her scheduled cardiologist appt and this afternoon i am coming home to put my house plants on the ground for watering. it has been quite a bit of time since their last watering. i will then fiddle around here at home for the remainder of the day. i missed a whole day yesterday. i had a severe asthma attack and was flat on my back yesterday. i felt horrible. i am on a prednisone regimen for the next six days. i swear prednisone is a miracle drug.
have a wonderful, blessed day Melisa. i hope you do something "just for you" today.
blessings and love are on the way to you.
Debra Broyles
Oh my dear Debra . I do hope you are feeling better. I cannot imagine how distressed and frightening that must be. I am glad to hear that you have been prescribed prednisone. Do take care as you are out and about especially in the high winds as well. I hope your mom's appointment went well. It is so wonderful that you can be there for her. Oh yes, this little quilt would be fun to make for other seasons. I am not sure what kind of Christmas quilt I will make next. Were you able to pick up your Christmas quilt from the longarmer? I bet it is just beautiful. Speaking of plants- I need to move some of mine around- cooler weather is on its way. I wish you a very Happy Halloween. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Big bear hugs from the holler.
DeleteI have a small Halloween wallhanging that I will take down soon; but, I'll be putting up a wallhanging that feels like fall/Thanksgiving next. Christmas ALWAYS comes way too early and ends way too soon for me! I like your spider and Halloween quilt. You really rock the Halloween spirit!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteAaaw I hope you will post a photo of your fall/ Thanksgiving quilt on display, Terry. I would love to see it. Oh yes, Christmas comes and goes too quickly for me too. I just cannot believe how this year seems to have flown by. Thank you for the sweet Thursday visit. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteGosh, I am too, Kate! How can it be Halloween already ? Where has this month gone? Thank you for the sweet visit. Happy Halloween. Hugs.
DeleteOh no Rodster is gone and left Edna alone. Say it isn't so! I'm very sad for both but especially Edna. I bet her heart is a bit broken - mine is and I'm not involved.
ReplyDeleteOn a brighter note I'm super duper crazy about your little quilt - it's ADORABLE. I just know I must make one, too. I said it's adorable but it's stinkin' cute, too. Can I have it? Well, I had to ask. ROFLOL I'll go find the measurements and make one for little old me. But oh my goodness it would be so much easier if you would just send yours to me. LOL You know I'm just pulling your leg - I'm in a feisty mood today. teehee!!! OK, I'll go away for now but not quietly. Love ya, girl. Big, big hugs, DarleneJ
October is at the end and I can't believe how fast it flew by - poof (gone).
Happy Happy Halloween, sweet Darlene! You certainly brought the biggest smile to my day. LOL I wonder if Rodster is as broken hearted for Edna as she was over him? Probably not? But maybe. I will have to ask how he is adjusting. LOL I am thrilled to pieces to have finished this creepy crawly quilt. Now why did it take me so long? - I have no idea. I was hoping to start another yesterday, but time got away from me as I was out and about . Hmmm maybe today. You have a beautiful day! Love ya too! Hugs
DeleteYour Halloween Shoo Fly quilt is so much fun, Melisa! I love the orange and black prints all together in those cute blocks. Happy Halloween!

ReplyDeleteI think the simple blocks are some of my favorites. Thank you so much for the kind compliment on my quilt, Sandie. It was a fun one to work on . Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteCute little Shoo Fly quilt. You finished it just in time. Poor Edna. I hope you gave her some extra scratches behind her ears.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Ginny. I am so thrilled to have it finished. Well, Edna put on quite a show when Rodster was moved. She ran around the field as mad a hornet. Thankfully , she has calmed down now. She always gets torn up if something changes on the farm. LOL. Bless her heart. Have a great day. Hugs.
DeleteThe fabric in the Halloween quilt is perfect. I am not sure if I even have any Halloween fabric in my stash. I better get to work on that! I am pulling fabric for a small fall/ Thanksgiving quilt and a Christmas quilt using the shoo fly pattern. Poor Edna I am sure she misses her friend. She may need some extra treats. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteAlicia
I am not sure when and where I got these fabrics, but they have been in my stash for years. I so happy I finally finished this little quilt. I may make a Christmas version as well. It just warms my heart that you will be making one for yourself, Alicia. Do keep me posted on how yours works out. Thank you for the sweet visit. Warm hugs and Happy Halloween.
