Well hello , Sunshine! How are you doing on this fine 1st Thursday in September? It has been a few days since we last visited. Have you been staying busy enjoying these last few days of summer?
The weather is changing. It is slowly cooling down here in the holler. The slight change in weather has left me feeling a bit on the puny side These last few days have plagued me with seasonal nosebleeds and a toothache. Oh bother. ๐

Anywhoo.... I have been lounging around, getting to tasks a little slower than usual. ๐๐๐๐๐
We had a grand ole' time. Mr. Pinker was out and about visiting with friends and folks more than I was.
I spent most of my time in the camper , resting and working on Kathy Schmitz "Welcome Fall" embroidery, a sweet gift from Patricia. Thank you , sweet friend.
Still working on embroidering bittersweet berries. |
When we arrived home, we had our annual Labor Day cookout with all of the kiddos splishing and splashing in the pool- the last official hurrah to summer fun -though the pool will remain open until October.
After the cookout, Mr. Pinker went out to the garden to pick the okra which had gotten way too big since we were away. He asked if I wanted it to dry. "Well of course I do," I replied. My okra garland that I made years ago which hung in my prim area had seen better days.
Large okra pods being strung up to dry. |
Soon I pulled out a large needle and thread and strung up the okra. I will let it dry and adjust the pods to my liking later.
Have you ever made a dried okra garland?
One evening, I felt well enough to pull out some of my fall decor. I always wonder how and where people store their stuff - do you?
Well most of my small fall stuff is stored in my armoire in the toy room. The rest is in the attic.
This armoire holds patriotic in the bottom drawer and in the basket on the shelf. Fall and Halloween is in the large section of the armoire |
In the armoire are small shoe box totes filled to the brim with decor. Each tote is labeled on every end. ( Shoe box totes are easier for me to carry. ๐)
I pulled out some of my fall decor which are stored in shoe box totes. |
These totes have salt and pepper shakers in them.
Each item is wrapped in newspaper or plastic wrap to avoid chipping .
Little fall salt and pepper shakers waiting to be unwrapped and displayed. |
Every thing is packed tight . When I pack my items, I place the larger items in the box first and fill in the nooks and crannies with smaller items.
Believe it or not all of these shakers came out of one tote. Two more boxes to unwrap! Hee! Hee!
Later I set out my Halloween village.
Yes, a bit early, but I was in the mood for some spooks and ghouls . I like cute not creepy. ๐ป๐๐ป
Speaking of Halloween - have you seen the life sized Halloween cat at Dollar General? Cute as a button. I picked up one for myself and one for my daughter . This bewitching little feline was only $6.00. I didn't think that was too bad. ๐ฑ๐ฑ
This year's Dollar General Halloween cat. |
Most of this week, however, I have been resting. I pulled out some old magazines from way back in 1996! Aaah such beautiful country decorating!
I have been flipping through the pages ooohing and aaahing over all of the country goodness.
Gosh, I just love this kitchen filled with old tins high above the window. ❤❤❤
And look at that gorgeous nine patch draped on the cupboard door! Adorable!
You know me when it comes to plates- and Pflatzgraff at that !
Oooh ! Aaaah ! Love it! ❤❤❤
Red buffalo checked chairs and a braided rug- just my style. ๐ค
And look at the mustard and golden orange string quilt! Prim cuteness!
I say these magazines have been doing a good job keeping me entertained and dreaming of things I would like to do to my house.
Yesterday, I caught some trespassers coming onto the far end of the property. Three men were on four wheelers. When they saw me from a distance, they did a double take and then backed off the hill and sped down the road. I did get their photo. I am not sure what they were up to, but I would say "up to no good" . Why go on someone else's property that is marked "No Trespassing" ?Hmm , "no good" indeed. I have to admit it makes me a bit uneasy. I hope they do not come back. Of course, I have put my family and neighbors on high alert. Yikes!
Well , Sweeties, I guess I have chatted your ears off about a whole lot of nothing. I do apologize. Hopefully, I will be back in the swing of things soon. I have my fingers crossed this is not a "toothache" but just sinus issues.
Images from Pinterest.
It may take a few days, but I hope to catch up with all of my blogging friends soon.
Have a wonderful day and don't forget to do something you love even for just a moment! Love ya'!
As Always...
Happy Stitching and Quilting, ya'll
Melisa

Another piece of an already chipped tooth in the upper back of my mouth just came off last night when flossing. Ugh! As long as it isn't painful, I don't plan to do anything. No one can see what's going on back there ...not even me, trying to place a small mirror in my mouth while next to the bathroom mirror. Ha! Hope your toothache goes away. FYI: If you check my Sheepy Things post (previous to my last one) you will see the jar label I stitched. My friend was very tickled to receive it. I used to buy all the country magazines back in the day and have a huge stack saved. You are making me want to start going through them right now. :) You have quite a collection of cute s&p shakers. Hope the trespassers stay clear. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh how frustrating, Tammy. I hope that your tooth does not hurt or chip off anymore. Going to the dentist is not one of my favorite places to go. LOL Though I do have a wonderful dentist. Aaw thank you so much for telling me about your stitch. I will be hopping over for a visit. I have missed catching up with everyone. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that saved the old country magazines and still enjoy them. They are relaxing to flip through for sure. Have a blessed day and thank you for the sweet visit. Now take care of that tooth. Hugs.
DeleteI hope you feel better soon with whatever is dragging you down. Enjoy your autumn decorating and I hope you find some time for some happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Gretchen. I do hope that it is just the change in weather and not anything serious . Having sinus / teeth problems certainly can drag one down. Have a blessed day and Happy quilting. Hugs.
DeleteMelisa!! I'm so glad you're back!! I started to worry something was up..but I'm glad you're ok (besides the annoying toothache ๐ฅด)
ReplyDeleteWoooow your collection of fall salt&pepper shakers is amazing! I especially love all the pumpkins! I'm obsessed with pumpkins ๐
I have to start digging out my fall decor too...it's cooled down quite a bit in Maine and the trees have started to change colors. Autumn time! ๐๐
I hope you will feel better very soon! Sending you love and hugs from Maine,
Alex ๐ฅฐ๐ค๐ค๐ค
Oooh I bet the trees are just glorious especially when they come into full Autumn colors. I think it is supposed to be in the 70's here next week which will be nice. Aaw thank you so much, Alex for thinking about me. The tooth/ sinuses have done a number on me these last few days, but I think I am starting to feel better. Gosh, I am a bit obsessed with pumpkins too. I was good the other day and restrained myself from buying another set of pumpkin salt and pepper shakers. LOL. Have a wonderful afternoon. Warm love and hugs.
DeleteI hope you recover soon, dear Melisa! You've taught us wonderful things.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Thursday.
Kisses
Aaaw thank you so much, dear Isabel. I am hoping that I have turned the corner; I am certainly ready to get back to being busy and bustling about. Have a beautiful day. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteThis sounds super silly to say, but I hope you have sinus issues. LOL. I'd take that over a tooth issue any day. Feel better soon, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteLOVE how you store your goodies. It's like Christmas every time you redecorate for another themed season.
Such fun you got to go to the tractor pull. I reminded my husband this past weekend that our first date was to the county fair tractor pull. Shame on those trespassers!!! We had a couple of four wheelers drive down our property at 11pm a few weeks back. The neighbor enjoying his back porch down the road alerted us. Grrrr... It's good to have good neighbors.
Oh, Kathy I am hoping it is just sinus issues too. I just hate the thought that it is a tooth. Uggh. LOL. Aaaw what a sweet memory of your first date; that just warms my heart. Do y'all still go to the fair and tractor pulls? Unfortunately , we do not have a county fair and have to travel to see the pulls, but we always have a great time. Oh how worrisome that you had trespassers too especially that late at night. It is good to have good neighbors. I hope they do not return to your property. I just don't understand why people do that. Thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteGood morning sweet friend. Sorry to hear you are under the weather. This weather has been so weird this year - sinus problems for so many. Keep us posted on how you're doing - praying it's not a toothache. And hope you don't have anymore troubles with unexpected people - hunters maybe? I love looking at old magazines - they remind me of what was going on a particular year. I used to have a whole bunch of old cross stitch magazines - especially the ones that would have ads for the entire collection of DMC floss. I wonder how much that would cost now! We're in VA - going to our favorite restaurant tonight after some time in a quilt shop. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday, dear Donna and thank you for the sweet well wishes. I do hope it is just my sinuses. You are so right the weather has been weird which aggravates my situation. Hubby said that he thought it might be hunters . We just took down the cable so they thought they might slip up the hill to see what is going on - I guess. He reassured me that he doesn't think they will come back since I caught them. I hope he is right. Oh I just love old cross stitch magazines. Whenever I see them in the thrift stores, I will grab them especially the 1980's 90's ones. Oh I would love to have an entire collection of DMC - maybe someday. Oh how wonderful that you are in VA. Did you get your slide on the RV fixed ? Do enjoy your favorite restaurant and the quilt shop- Eeeh! Sounds like a wonderful day to me. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteGood September morning to you, Melisa--what a lovely post full of newsy stuff--loved reading about your storage methods--WOWSER--wrapping each separate piece--good on you!! ;0))
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I am in the midst of a big re-org of my stash and stuff--I am finding that I didn't know HALF of what I had on hand!!!!Yikes!! I hope to re-fold my solids this morning--at least I can sit with a bin and work and not have to stand--as this long term standing does a number on my poor back!!
Love, love love your Halloween cute as a button village!! I like cute and not creepy too...
Sorry about your toothache--maybe it is sinus--I had that a few yrs ago and my dentist couldn't find anything--and it did turn out to be sinuses...
Well enough blathering here--have a wonderful day hugs, Julierose
Good afternoon, dear Julierose. You have been so very busy reorganizing your quilt room. You make me want to do the same. I wondered if you found any pieces that you have missed . Hee! Hee! You might be find yourself heading down a rabbit hole with another quilt if you find just the right fabrics you want to play with. I have high hopes to reorganize my fabric , but alas that has gone by the wayside. I guess I will take baby steps. Don't overwork yourself and do take care of your back. Warm hugs and Blessings.
DeleteAwww I'm sorry you are feeling poorly. Your seasonal decor is organized so well. I've never had an okra garland but have had okra way too big to do anything with, so what a great idea! I used to subscribe to Country Living and wanted all my rooms to look just like those in the magazine. I had fun decorating from thrift stores! Do you feel you should notify the police about the trespassers? Good thing you let your neighbors know to be on the lookout. Hope you feel much better Melisa.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, dear Linda. I do hope it is just sinuses. It has been hard for me to tell. It is supposed to get cooler this upcoming week so I will see how that affects me. LOL. Country Living magazine is one of my favorites too. I keep a basket of ones from the 1980's by my rocking chair. I could look at them all day long. LOL. Oh yes, we have shared the photo with one of our officer friends. Never can be too careful. Things like that make me uneasy. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteUuuh, toothache? No, no. I have it already behind me. Hope you feel better now. I never had made an okra. You really have a hand and an eye for decoration. Old magazins, yezz I got some from the 50s. You should see the style of these years. I got some things from these years. But only down in the cellar, not in my living room.
ReplyDeleteStrangers on your property, call the police. I am glad to live in a nice community. We neighbors take care of each other.
Halloween deco wil be out soon.
Have a happy day,
Gabi
Uggh on toothaches! LOL and sinus problems too. They are no fun at all. LOL, But I think I am turning the corner well at least I hope so. Oh , I bet your 1950's magazines are a delight to look at, Gabi. I can only imagine the graphics and images in those treasures. I wish I had my Granny's 1950's table. Many fond memories sitting down with a home cooked meal with her. Yes, there is nothing like having good neighbors to watch out for one another especially when strangers are about. Thank you for the sweet visit, Gabi. Eeeh and have fun Halloween decorating! Hugs.
DeleteI wondered why I didn't see posts from you! I hope you feel better real soon. I hear ya on the toothache-I am heading for a root canal this fall:( Loving a bit cooler weather but it didn't have to get this cool yet, last night it got to 45 degrees!
ReplyDeleteUggh a root canal? Oh Vicki, I hope you are not in any discomfort or pain right now. Dental problems are the pits aren't they? I am praying that my issue is my sinuses, but we shall see. Ooh 45 - now that is cool. I am not ready for that kinda weather. LOL. Thank you for the sweet visit and hope you had a great day with your friends. Hugs.
DeleteTake care! Yes atmospheric pressure changes that come with change of seasons wreaks havoc with sinuses etc.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Betty. I am hoping that is the problem. As long as I do not get worse, I was going to give it a few days before calling a dentist just to check. But today I have felt pretty good with just mild discomfort. Have a blessed day, Betty. Hugs.
DeleteWhat a wonderful blog. So glad I found you.made my day. : )
ReplyDeleteAaaah shucks. Thank you so much, dear . You are the sweetest and may I say that you made my day too. I hope your day was filled with blessings. Hugs.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear that you've been under the weather, Melisa - but glad you got away to the tractor pull anyway. That fall embroidery design is delightful! I'm ready to get out the fall things, too - your collection of salt and pepper shakers looks so fun. Fun looking at those old magazines, too! I would say that reading blogs has replaced magazines for me. I love to see how quilters and crafters decorate their homes!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Diann. Having sinus/tooth problems has been the pits , but I think I am turning the corner- at least I hope so. LOL. I have been slowly pulling out my fall stuff which has been a pleasure to enjoy the process. I think blogs steered me away from purchasing magazines too. I am still glad that I have my old ones to enjoy though. I hope you are having a wonderful trip. Take care and safe travels. Hugs.
DeletePlease, never apologize for a long post...those are my favourites of all time. This one was wonderful and I enjoyed the read very much. I loved seeing how you store your precious things so carefully and how you bring joy to your home by celebrating the seasons in such a fulsome way. You have an eye for bargains too which I appreciate. Lovely stitching too. And I do hope you are rid of those maladies very very soon!
ReplyDeleteOh Jocelyn, you are so sweet and kind. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I always worry about getting too long winded in my post, but it warms my heart to hear that you enjoyed this post. Moving more slowly this week has given me a chance to enjoy the few fall pieces that I have pulled out. Those little treasures bring back fond memories of when my girls were little and they still enjoy seeing my holiday items out even today . Thank you for the well wishes. Hugs and Blessings.
Deletegood morning lovely Melisa.
ReplyDeletei was getting so worried about you. i don't have your direct email address so i couldn't write to check on you. it sounds like you had one day of fun and the rest were blah!!! i'm so sorry you are feeling such discomfort. i really did miss you, however. i hope you get to feeling better soon. i suffer from sinus problems as well. add in the allergies and we have a wonderful puffy face with eyes to match.
i love your okra garland. it is so cute. do you ever drape it around your neck? if so, next time you do take a photo. you've got to post it. you'll look so beautiful in your okra necklace.
your welcome fall embroidery piece is beautiful. i love it and i can't wait to see the finished piece.
your magazines are fantastic. i, too, could get lost in reading about country decorating. i love country decorating. it looks like there are lots and lots of things packed in a little space, but to me, it is more beauty to take in with the eye. i love color and the more mismatched pieces gives the seer more pieces to view. i love it.
your dollar tree cat is adorable. i'm going to have to go to our local dollar tree and see if there is a cat. i was just in dollar tree yesterday picking up birthday cards and didn't even look for halloween pieces. my mind was on "birthday cards" only. i did, however, look to see if they had any of their christmas bags out yet. i wrap my christmas gifts in the big bags and they have the best assortment. the price definitely can't be beat!!! $1.25 for a large bag. walmart has them for over $8. by the way, i did put my christmas tree up on September 1st. i just love the glow of the lights. so peaceful. i think i'm going to purchase more lights to put on the tree. you know me - the more color the better.
well Melisa i guess it's time for me to close and for you to nurse your toothache and sinus issues. i pray you get relief very soon. i damaged all of my bottom teeth with my peppermint candy disk addiction and i often get a toothache. i did purchase a kit from amazon:
DenTek Instant Oral Pain Relief Maximum Strength Kit for Toothaches | 50 Count
and it works very, very well. i have a couple molars that are real boogers and the pain at times is unbearable. it's going to cost me over $10K to get my teeth fixed and i just don't have that kind of cash laying around. anyway i'll live with the pain and see where it takes me.
blessings and love are on the way to you Melisa. have a wonderful, blessed day and stay safe. i'm sorry there are intruders on your property. probably just some boys out for a joyride. Mr. Pinker and the grandbabies will protect you. if i was there i'd protect you, too. a great big squeezy hug is on the way to you. i hope you feel it.
Debra Broyles
Good afternoon, sweet Debra and Happy September. I hope you have been having a great week thus far. Is it still hot in your neck of the woods? I hope you are starting to get a little relief from the heat. Oh yes, sinus/tooth issues are a bother. Thank you so much for telling me about Dent Tek I will be checking that out. I am just praying that it is my ole' sinuses flaring up. The older I get the more problems I have. LOL. Miss Debra, it just makes me sad to hear that your toothaches are unbearable at times. Bless your heart. I am sending you a big ole' hug. I am glad that the Dent Tek helps. Eeeh I am excited that you brought out your Christmas tree to enjoy! Yes, the more lights and color the better. Hee! Hee! Our Dollar General had Christmas lights on sale the other day and of course I had to pick up a few strands. I decorated my little tree with pumpkins and crows and I have another with just lights. I enjoy them in the late evenings and night. Don't you? As soon as I told hubby about the intruders, he comforted me and told me they would not be back especially since they got caught in the act. LOl. Thank you for making my day, dear Debra. Big hugs and lots of love.
DeleteIt sounds like you have been keeping busy plus not feeling the greatest. I do hope you are feeling better. We have been enjoying the cooler days here in our holler, but the heat and humidity are returning tomorrow if the weather guys are right. I don't understand people who trespass on other's property. We are posted here and we catch hunters at random times. Their excuse, I'm getting my dog(s). Well, keep your dogs off of posted lands (most everything in our holler is posted).
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday , Robin. I have been moving as slow as molasses this week but surprisingly I did get a lot completed now that I look back on it. LOL. The cool temps have been nice . I hope it doesn't get too hot this weekend. Did you get any rain today? We were supposed to , but it split so I am not sure if it is headed your way. Well , it sounds like we have the same issues with trespassers. I have heard the "dog story" too. The fellas yesterday were parked right beside the sign that said No Trespassing. I don't understand either. The craziness that goes on in the hollers. LOL. Hopefully, we both will have a more peaceful fall without uninvited guests . Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteA toothache is an awful thing to bare. I hope you've got a dental appt set up. Keep on embroidering, Melisa. That is a really cute work -- Fall exploding from an acorn. Fun! You've got the perfect needle minder handy there too!
ReplyDeleteIt has been no fun at all, Susie. I have been giving it a few days. I am in hopes that it is just sinuses since it accompanied a nosebleed which happens every time the weather changes. I am feeling a lot better today with just mild discomfort. As long as it doesn't get worse. I worked on my embroidery today and then lost my thread. LOL. I will take a quick search and then get back on track. Have a blessed evening. Warm hugs.
DeleteMelissa, reading your blog post makes me so happy and cozy. i hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteAaaw shucks thank you from the bottom of my heart. May I say that you brought a big smile to my day? You are the sweetest! Thank you for the well wishes . Warm hugs and Blessings.
DeleteTake good care of yourself, Melisa. It seems to be bad sinus season right now in the south. I hope the toothache is part of your sinus infection, but please keep an eye on it. Sending hugs and prayers you feel much better soon. Hugs. B
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Brenda. I do hope that the tooth problems are from the sinuses too. The weather has been up and down which wreaks havoc on my sinuses. I hope you have been having a good week. I look forward to catching up with you. Warm hugs and Blessings.
DeleteI'm sorry you've felt under the weather! Sinus season in the fall seems to be a "thing" these days. . .how did we by pass it when we were younger is what I'd like to know as we all would be repeating it now! Feel better soon. Perhaps, the fall decorating will help!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Terry. I never had sinus problems as a child or young adult, but now every time the weather changes here it comes. LOL. Hopefully, I will be cleared up and on the mend soon. Thank you for the sweet Thursday visit. Warm hugs and Blessings.
DeleteHello Sweet Friend!!! I've been thinking about putting out an all-points bulletin for you but then decided you might be taking a much-needed break. It's really great to see you today but continue to take care of yourself - listen to your body. I am very sorry that you've been feeling poorly. I've got my water gun ready to chase those varmints off your property. Let's roll. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've been spending time plying my needle and thread with lots of handwork and thoroughly enjoying every stitch. My soul truly is fed by my needle and thread.
Take good care, dear friend. Big, Bigger, Biggest Hugs, DarleneJ
LOL let's get that water gun and go after them, dear Darlene! Hee! Hee! I am with ya'! They won't have a chance with the 2 of us on their tails! Hee! Hee! I have been thinking about you these last few days wondering what you have been up to . I worked on some embroidery last night which made my heart sing too. It is nice to slow down and really enjoy the handwork isn't it? Have a wonderful afternoon and thank you so much for lifting my spirits and the giggles. Big Bear Hugs and love.
DeleteDear Melisa, I am so sorry ๐ to hear you have had nosebleeds and toothache ๐ข Your photos, illustrations and crafts are so beautiful and heartwarming ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank ๐ you so much for sharing,
Aah thank you so much, dear Linda. The older I get the more the sinus problem becomes an issue. I do hope it is just that and not the tooth. Uggh. LOL. I wish you the most delightful evening . Warm hugs and Blessings.

Dianet de Parchesdeamor
Good evening, sweet Dianet. I hope you are doing well . It sounds like you have been stitching up a storm which is good, but do take care of that arm. Does embroidery bother your hands as well? I hope not. One year my arm hurt- I bet you are right it is not from changing positions. It took awhile to heal. There is nothing like decorating your home with your own handmade decor. I bet your Halloween decorations are gorgeous and your shelf is magical. I will have to check IG to see what you have been stitching. Will you be sharing your display as well? I hope so. Thank you for the sweet well wishes. You have lifted my spirits which helps immensely. Sending lots of love and warm blessings. Hugs.
DeleteI'm so sorry to read that you are not feeling the best, get well soon. Lots to read here, I dont know anything about okra, some type of vegetable obviously. And I've never heard of tractor pulls, a competition no doubt. It's a bit scary when strange vehicles come onto your property, they are up to no good are they. With warning your family and neighbours, they can watch out for them too.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much , dear Jenny for the well wishes. I believe the change of weather is what has got me down - at least I hope that is it. Oh yes, okra is a vegetable. We like to eat it friend or in soups. Hubby picked a mess of it today which we sent to my mom's. I had never been to a tractor pull until my hubby took me to one. They do not have them in our neighborhood. It is a competition to see who can pull the "sled" the farthest. It is interesting to see and hubby really enjoys it. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteSo sorry to read you are out of sorts and I hope you feel better soon. Those guys on your property sound like they are definitely up to no good. I hope you have told the police as well as your friends and neighbours. I always enjoy reading about all your crafting and adventures. Take care and be safe my friend. Hugs, Barbara @flashingscissors xx ๐♀️๐๐๐xx
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, dear Barbara. I am looking forward to getting back my pep in my step that is for sure. I just don't understand why some people have to trespass. They were young guys and not from the neighborhood so everyone is on alert now. I am glad I was able to get their photos so we can be on the alert. Sending you warm hugs and Blessings.
DeleteHello Melisa I'm sorry that you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon. Your fall decorations look great. I love how you mixed in Halloween. And your salt and pepper collection I've never seen so many. I hope your intruders don't come back. We have had break ins on my street the last month but not at my house. So now I keep the door locked all the time. Never used to do that. Crazy times we live in. I put up my fall decorations and I will switch out some at the end of the month with Halloween. I love this time of the year with all the colors. I'm slowly getting into a retired routine. I still wake up early and think I need to be somewhere. You continue to rest and feel better. I look forward to reading your blog when you are up to posting. Sending hugs and prayers.
ReplyDeleteGood evening, dear Joy. Earlier this week I felt very drained, but I think I have turned the corner. Today was a real good day; I had lots of energy and even spent most of the time stitching. I am so glad to hear that you are getting into a routine. I do hope that you enjoy every minute of retirement as much as I have. It may take a little while, but you may find days busier than ever. LOL. Oh it is so frightening to hear about the break ins in your neighborhood. I am sure it puts your nerves on end. It is very sad that one cannot feel safe in their own neighborhood isn't it? Have a wonderful weekend. Warm hugs and Blessings.
DeleteI have been wondering about you. Hope the "punies" leave pronto! What a beautiful armoire. Rummaging into totes sounds like a fun thing to do when you are low energy. Such fun S&P's. My mom had an extensive collection that lined the windowsills and a shelf above the curtains in the kitchen. Will the dried okra string be just for decorating or ever used in the future? Do they stay green? Oooh, I used to love browsing through Country magazines. Sadly, I had tp purge them on one of my cross country moves. This time of year, trespassers are often hunters scoping out deer trails. We had trouble with that, too, on the farm. Take care and don't overdo.
ReplyDeleteGood evening, dear Ginny. Oh yes, I felt "blah" earlier this week. Today has been a real good day though which was so nice. I think the weather was the problem- well I hope so. I think it is supposed to get cooler again next week so I will see them. LOL. Your Mom's collection sounds amazing. Did she collect any particular theme of S & P's or whatever struck her fancy? I think the them displayed in the windowsill would be so pretty. As far as the okra , I am just using it for decor. Years ago I made a long one and strung it on the fireplace. It turns brown and looks real Prim. I have always wanted to make a walnut garland but I would need hubby's help for that. Hubby thinks the trespassers were looking for deer trails too. He doesn't think they will come back since I caught them. I sure hope they don't. Have a wonderful weekend. Warm hugs
DeleteMelisa, I hope you'll feel better soon, in the meantime it's always fun to see your decor for the season and fall is one of my favorites. Like you I like Halloween cute not creepy and I'm starting to think about getting my Halloween decor out soon!

Oh thank you so much, dear Diana. It is amazing how one day can make a difference. I am feeling a whole lot better today and I was full of energy. I hope that I am on the mend. I think fall decorating ranks at the top for me too. Usually I wait a few more weeks before I put out my Halloween, but I just want it out early this year. LOL. I hope you enjoy decorating with your Fall and Halloween decor. Have a beautiful day and a wonderful weekend. Hugs.
