Whoosh! Whoosh! Whish! Howl !
Oh my, it sure was a blustery day! I thought I was going to be blown away when I stepped outside. In fact, there were wind warnings out. It made the day quite chilly.
Welcome, Sweeties and a lovely evening to you. ❤
Off and on , I would sit outside trying to enjoy the warm rays of the sun, but alas, it was hard with the gusts up 20 mph. Now that is downright breezy. Well, at least for me. π¬π¬π₯Άππ
This is the lovely view I was enjoying.
Every now and then I would get up for a stroll. There are lots and lots of rocks . Yes, I am a rockhound. My eagle eye spies a heart rock . Do you see it?
One of my favorite cacti is the cholla. Be careful though for they are prickly!!!!
Mr. Pinker added 200 more watts of solar to our camper which was greatly needed. We are now up to 400 and we have our generator if needed.
He spent the day battling the wind while working on the side by side.- just tackling a few odds and ends so we can ride around. Meanwhile, I gave up on sitting outside and made my way inside the little ole' truck camper.
Soon I began to work on the lovely Blackbird Designs sampler called "Winter Wonderland" , a gift from dear. Sonja. Thank you , Sonja. π€ I finished the bottom border and began working up the side. I continued working on it throughout the day.
I put out on my hummingbird feeder in hopes that a hummer or two would visit the camp. Will they brave the high winds? Hmmm, I am not for sure.
Last week , I moved the Flaming Butterfly quilt out of the large oval hoop into the 18" round hoop for traveling.
My needle meandered around the Whatcha MaCall It block today.
It took me about 2 hours to complete the block . Soon, I will move on to a little black butterfly.

I am still limited on internet access and the ability to respond right now. I hope to get back in the groove when I return. Love ya'!
It looks so desolate where you are camping, but I but the sunrises and sunsets are killers. Enjoy your stitching time this week and good luck with all your stitching plans.
ReplyDeleteWow - looks like you are in the middle of nowhere! Just my kind of place!!! I love rocks too and I did see that heart. It jumped right out at me. Love that you put out a hummingbird feeder. Stay safe and warm, Melisa! We are supposed to warm up this week and then plunge again next week. Have fun with your stitching. Hugs and safe travels!
ReplyDeleteDon't blow away! Other than that wind, enjoy your time out in the wild. Where are camping? Thanks for sharing the progress of your quilting <3 I look for heart in nature as well and keep a folder called I <3 Nature. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThe winds sounds brutal. I hope you are enjoying your camping trip!
ReplyDeleteIt has been very windy this past week, this morning it is calm here I hope it stays that way as it is not going to be all that warm. I hope you have had some good riding in the desert/mountains. I too put out a hummer feeder and enjoy the multi visits they are giving us, we know there are at least 3 of them.
ReplyDeleteNice work.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are way out in the desert, Melisa - no snow for you! I love that heart shaped rock. I've searched for them before, too. Your butterfly quilt is looking good! Hope the wind calms down for you.
ReplyDeleteNice views, although it must have been uncomfortable with so much wind.
ReplyDeleteHugs and happy week
Oh wow! How you could stay outside is amazing to me, but I am a cold weather coward! πI see a heart rock! Pretty! Your Winter Wonderland is coming along nicely! Love your hand quilting! Oh! How I love your A Very Merry Christmas! Happy Stitching!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying your trip and the stitching. Your quilting is just beautiful. Safe trip.
ReplyDeleteI raised my family in the Mojave desert ~ true desert rats :) and don't forget to steer clear of the jumping cactus - it'll attach by your body heat - lots of great crafting in the desert going on. I am in low with your flaming butterfly quilt (nwpaintedlady)
