Good evening, sweet friends and Happy Sunday. Today has been a full day of partying with the family. My nephew celebrated his birthday and of course, the whole family gathered to celebrate his grand day.
Afterwards the boys played outside while we sat on the porch and watched the gals as they munched on an afternoon snack.
Earlier this week, I finished Harvest Blessing Heart Block which I shared on Tuesday.
I have been knee deep in Christmas decorations.
The tiered tray by the corner kitchen sink is decorated in the "farm theme" with some of the same old items in it.
It is filled to the brim with chickens, Santas and a truck.
Each evening I have been working on my Scrapberries quilt. One more berry to quilt and then I will begin the border.

Your decorations are so interesting, what fun! I love the vintage dress potholders, my grandmother had a set, I always thought they were so cool. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Gretchen. I am staying busy trying to decorate for the season. It has been a lot of fun learning how to crochet these little potholders. I have little to no knowledge on crochet so I am pleased how they are turning out. I am so glad these brought back fond memories of your grandmother's . Have a great week. Hugs.
DeleteCute Santa hat cross stitch ! I have a couple of vintage dress potholders that belonged to my grandmother. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteOh what a treasure , Gail. I bet you just cherish the vintage potholders. These are a lot of fun to make. Thank you so much for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteSounds like you had a fun day, Melisa! The harvest blessings heart looks great - I'm ready to work on that one. Such cute decorations, too. I love your little Christmas Stamp! I'll have to put that one on my list. Those dress potholders are adorable! I'm so impressed that you figured out how to make them.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much. The Harvest Blessing worked up quickly. I do need to finish my others. I hope you enjoy it when you work on yours. I have to admit it has taken me all week to make 2 potholders. I have to pause the video with each step, but I am getting there. LOL. Have a great week. Hugs.
DeleteOh my do those crocheted dresses ever bring back memories, my mom used to crochet those for craft shows!!
ReplyDeleteAaaah how sweet. That brings a smile to my day to hear that the potholders brought back fond memories. Do you have any of the ones your Mom made? They would be a treasure to have. Have a great week, Vicki and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteWhy buy when you can create your own...right?? Your dress potholders are adorable, Melisa. How nice to sit on the porch while the boys play. You always seem to have the best family celebrations. As always, your Christmas decorating is the bomb. Now that's a sweet little tree decoration you've just finished.
ReplyDeleteI can not tell you how pleased I am how the potholders are turning out. I have only crocheted dish towels but as far as crocheting- I am a novice. Oh yes, we do love our family celebrations. We are always looking for an excuse to get together and celebrate. The boys had a great day. Warm hugs and Blessings and Thank you , Kim.
DeleteOh, Melisa, what a fun post!!! Love the stamp with the santa hat (adorable), the crocheted dresses are so stinkin' cute and all the Christmas decor looks oh so very festive. ReplyDeleteAaaw shucks , Darlene. You are as sweet as pie. Thank you for brightening my evening and for the nephew's birthday wishes. He had a great day. I hope you have a great week. Are you still buzzing away on the sewing machine? I started piecing a little quilt last night. Big hugs,

ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful time, Kate. I always feel at peace when the family is gathered together and are enjoying our day. The nephew had a wonderful birthday as well. I am slowly getting the house in order as I decorate; it is a job , but one I enjoy. Thank you for dropping by. Hugs.
DeleteI’m definitely going to make the Christmas stamp! I have the fabric and floss and I have a Santa collection of ornaments! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so honored, Judy. It should work up very quickly. I have always wanted to have a Santa tree. It sounds like you have a wonderful collection of Santas . I would love to see your tree. Enjoy each stitch and thank you for bringing a smile to my day. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteAaah you are always so kind, Jeanna. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I struggle with finishing ideas. This one was a quick stitch and finish. I am glad to have it on my tree. Have a wonderful day. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to see all the little details of your decorating, Melisa! Great job picking up crocheted dresses so quickly!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the new Christmas Hat stamp. Such a pretty finish! Your coloration & stitching on the latest heart is just lovely. You're doing a great job with the crocheted dress potholders. I've never attempted anything like that. Good for you! I've only done a few doilies. The holiday decor is looking really nice. One of the last picture with the crock and the candle stitch is really pretty. Is that one of your designs?
