Purple Piecing and a Morning Smoothie

The blueberries are in.

Each day I go out to our little blueberry bushes on the hill and pick a small bowl full.

These make for good summer smoothies.

I make mine from spinach, blueberries, a small amount of crushed pineapples, cucumber, ground flax seeds , olive oil and a tad bit of old fashioned oatmeal. Yum! Yum! And good for you too. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹

You know what else is good for you? Sewing! Hee! Hee! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Little scrappy On the Positive Side Blocks have been in the works for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

I also had to catch up on my orange blocks. Oooh don't the orange and purples play so pretty together. They remind me of Halloween.

The blocks measure 10 1/2" x 10 1/2" unfinished and are made of 2 1/2" strips and blocks.

Well Sweeties, this is just a quick pop in visit. I wish you the most spectacular Saturday. And don't forget to do something you love.

As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Melisa

Thank you for the sweet visit.

    1. Good morning, dear Gabi and Happy Saturday. I am enjoying all of the berries that are coming into season. They are certainly yummy. Oh thank you so much on my quilt. It is coming along nicely. I still have not figured out how I will set the blocks but that will come to me in due time. Have a fabulous weekend. Hugs.

  2. Happy, Happy Saturday Mz Melisa and company!!! Yummy smoothie. Lip smacking good! Love all the blocks. I'm crazy about purple and orange, too. Perfect for Halloween projects! BTW, this afternoon I read your excellent 2023 Pin Pillow tutorial. I have quite a few things stitched waiting patiently to become pin pillows. For some extremely silly reason they intimidate me. I have made a handful but it is time to take the plunge so I can enjoy them. I spent the majority of my day binge watching Heartland on Netflix while stitching. Sounds like a wonderful plan for tomorrow, as well. LOL Happy Saturday with a big ole hug! DarleneJ

  3. You are so lucky to have established blueberry bushes! I'll skip the smoothie, but I'll eat them out of hand! :D

  6. Your blueberries look so yummy, Melisa! There is nothing better than fresh-picked blueberries. We got to do that once, in Vermont. So good! I love your purple plus blocks, too. That is turning into a beautiful project, with all the colors!

  8. We have smoothies every morning. Pro tip, cut out the olive oil. Its not good for you. Leave the flax seeds in, or use chia seeds. Kale is better than spinach for you. I would leave out the oats too, blach! LOL!

  9. Loving your "On the positive side" quilt - a great scrappy one! Grand kids are here - 3 of them anyway. Swimming this morning in the lake. A bit of crafting this afternoon. Naps right now - boy I could sure use one. ;-) Blessings!
