Berries Galore- A Spring Hutch Tour

And a berry good day to you! Happy Tuesday, Sweeties! Please do come in and join me . Last week I was bound and determined to change out the hutch decor.

I pulled out all of my strawberry stitches, dug in my cabinet for berry plates and ceramics and then went to town filling my hutch to the brim.

My newest addition is the vintage Betty Crocker Pie Parade booklet. Isn't it so pretty in red?

My Strawberry Jam Jar  and Strawberry Jam and Biscuits Stamp look perfect with some strawberry preserves. The vintage embroidered piece is a fabulous thrifty find from over 20 years ago.

Amy Lou the Berry Picker  takes center stage on the middle shelf. It is in memory of my sister , the sweetest berry picker ever. All of the plates, berry pitchers and ceramic baskets are thrift store finds.
Mini Strawberry Sampler is precariously tucked into a pitcher while Strawberry Quilt Stamp is in the berry basket.

Strawberry Saltbox is one of my favorite little houses. The colors just speak to me.

The Jewel cookbook is another new addition . Do you collect cookbooks? I enjoy the older cookbooks. Mr . Pinker always jokes with me that he wished I cooked from them more. Hee! Hee!

"Sweet Strawberry " is a freebie from Caroline at Cosmic Handmade. It is a strawberry favorite of mine as well. .

The bottom shelf is filled with a modge podge of strawberry pieces.

The Strawberry Pitch truck was a Dollar General piece from a couple of years ago.

The salt and pepper shakers are always on the hutch . They are gifts from my sis.

So that is my berry hutch in a nutshell. Filled to the brim with pure sweetness. Well at least in my eyes.

Thank you so much for joining me today.  I plan to spend the afternoon stitching on a new strawberry piece.
What do you have in store for the day?

Thank you for the sweet visit.

  5. Quite the pretty parade of berries Melisa! You have such pretty pieces. Haha on the cookbooks. Yes I used to collect them, but I had to give some away because of space. My favorites are the old church and band cookbooks from my youth, a Luby's cookbook, old Betty Crocker cookbooks, and cookbooks by The Pastry Queen (Rebecca Rather) and by Martha Stewart. I have a built-in china cabinet in the kitchen and that is where my cookbooks and glass and dishware reside. But still not enough room for everything - lol!

    1. Oh how fun, Linda. It sounds like you have a wonderful collection. Don't you just love looking through them especially the older ones. I am fortunate enough to have my grandmother's plus her handwritten recipes. She was a wonderful cook. I wish I had inherited that skill. LOL. You are so lucky to have a built in china cabinet. What treasures it must hold. Warm hugs.

  7. What a delightful tour and just the way I like strawberries. I'm serious because I don't eat them. I don't really collect cookbooks although in the early years of marriage, I collected a few. Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday.

    1. Oh thank you so much, Robin. I remembered that strawberries are not one of your favorites to eat. But stitched ones are awful sweet aren't they? I was gifted my 1st cookbook when I got married; I think that is what got me hooked on cookbooks. Warm hugs.

    1. LOL I guess I do. I started collecting strawberries over 20 years ago when the strawberry farm started. Before that was tobacco so I have a small collection of tobacco related items too. LOL I am glad I am not the only one whose husband thinks the same about the cookbooks. Hugs.

  9. good morning Melisa.
a strawberry definitely has nothing to hide. strawberries are so beautiful and so juicy and sweet. i love strawberries dipped in chocolate (a delicacy) or whipped cream. i have heard some dip strawberries in sour cream, but i have never tried that. do you grow strawberries in your lovely gardens?
your berry hutch is so beautiful in red and white. i love it. i even found a few cross stitch pieces to print and make. thank you so much.
i hope you have an awesome day. blessings and love are coming your way Melisa. enjoy the sunshine and put on the bug spray. i'm highly allergic to mosquito bites so i don't know how i could live in Tennessee. from what i can tell, however, it is gorgeous there and definitely an awesome place to live.

    1. Good morning, dear Debra . I do believe chocolate covered strawberries is on of my favorites as well though it has been years since I have had them that way. I haven't tried them with sour cream. Hmmm I am going to have to give that a whirl. Sadly we do not have any strawberries in my garden. Maybe I should start to think about adding them. Oh I am so touched you found a few charts to add to your stitching list. I am so happy. I hope you enjoy them. It was a good day to sit outside and enjoy the day. And no skeeters which was unusual. Hee Hee! Have a wonderful and blessed weekend, sweet friend. Warm hugs.

  10. Two days of wonderful of wonderful strawberry designs, such a treat! Now, I have to see if the store has strawberries I can buy, I have a desire for strawberry shortcake. Love the Hutch Tour, you know I always have to stop at each and every picture and droll over your keepsakes and stitchery. Sending you warm hugs from usually sunny Arizona, we are in a 3-day cloudy with rain threatening.

    1. Good morning , dear Mary. It sounds like you are having the same weather we have been having. Those cloudy days can be dreary, but I know y'all need the rain. We had a short storm come through last night. Mmmm strawberry shortcake is an absolute favorite. Maybe with some vanilla ice cream? Yum Yum! Eat a bit for me! Have a fabulous weekend. Hugs and Blessings.
