A very hoppy day to you, Honey Bunnies! ๐๐ฐWelcome.
The other day, Mr. Pinker and I visited the Mennonite community a couple of counties over.
It is always such a pleasant drive down the valley and over the mountain. We usually go this time of the year though we were one day early as to when the shop with baked goods would be officially open. ( Mr. Pinker always gets himself a sweet treat. No treat this time. ๐๐ฅฎ )
Horse and buggy at the little shop. |
We did visit 2 greenhouses and came home with some plants. I was hoping to find an Annabelle Hydrangea, but no cigar this year. ๐
Just a few of the plants that I bought . |
We even drove to the quilt shop, but bummer! Struck out there too. They were closed. I am going to have to remind myself when they are open. LOL. ๐ค
Afterwards, we went to Lowes for their Spring sale. Mulch was 5 bags for $10 sooooo we picked up a few bags and went home to get straight to work.
One little pathway mulched.
We need 1 more round paver, but Lowes does not sell them anymore. |
Mr. Pinker began to mulch this garden up the driveway. I am wanting to expand it and add the hydrangeas. Please overlook the wild onions growing in the lily garden. Can you tell I like the wild and woolly look? Hee! Hee!
Well , let's see . What else is going on? Hmmm well I was looking back through my blog and saw where I forgot to post a stitch.
Better late than never is what I always say. Don't you? ๐
This is Miss Flopsy's Spring Harvest.
She is a sister piece to Miss Flopsy which I shared in 2023.

Have a sun shiny spectacular day . I hope you do something that you love. ❤๐ค
P. S. If you have time, drop by this afternoon . I will be sharing my Spring Parade of freebies. ( Yep, I forgot to post that one too.) ๐๐

Several of my neighbors have round stones. I can grab one and send it to you. ROFLOL Postage would be horrid, but one can dream. You and Mr Pinker need to take a drive to the Mennonite community again so you can fulfill your desires. I wouldn't be able to sleep if I left that undone. LOL Do it soon. I love your Miss Flopsy designs - very, very cute. Happy Thursday. Big and little hugs, Darlene J
ReplyDeleteHee! Hee! Do you think your neighbors would miss it? LOL. I am on a mission now to find a round paver. Oh yes, we do need to go back to the Mennonite community. I was all hyped to go to the quilt shop. A yard or two always makes its way home when I visit there. Happy Happy Thursday, Darlene. I hope your day is a delightful one. Big ole bear hugs. ๐๐งธ๐ค
DeleteYour plants will look beautiful in your gorgeous yard. I like the wild and woolly look too. If I could, I'd have the "English cottage" look in my front yard, but Hubby is not fond of that. ;) I love the peek at your beautiful white railings on your house!
ReplyDeleteOh I am the same way, Linda. I would love to have an English cottage garden. I enjoy watching videos of those types of gardens. My hubby is the same way. I keep insisting it would cut down on his mowing time. LOL. Thank you for the sweet visit and kind words on my rails. We finally got them finished a few years ago. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteI forgot to sign in on my comment! I'm the one who mentioned the English cottage look. Blogger seems to sign me out after I sign in.
ReplyDeleteYou picked up some pretty plants. Good deal on the mulch as well! Cute bunny piece also!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Robin. It is always a treat to see what is available at the greenhouses. I have already started planting them. Have a great weekend. Hugs.
DeleteYour new Miss Flopsey is cute! Thank you for the new pattern. I miss not buying flowers though I did pick one up for the Camp Host sign out front. A poor little marigold - little guy looked sad and was terribly root bound. Had to bring him home. ;-) Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAaw I bet you will bring that poor marigold back to life and it will be smiling brightly. It will make all of the campers happy as they pass by. Marigolds are my favorites. When we go to campgrounds, I always love to see how campsites are decorated even with a flower or two. I was tempted to take a plant with me when we went to AZ. I did take a garden hook and my hummingbird feeder. Have a wonderful weekend, Donna. Hugs.
DeleteIt always feel so good to dig into the soil in the spring. I worked in the flowersbeds yesterday also. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteIt sure does, Gretchen. I have been pulling out my plants from the greenhouse and repotting some. I have marigolds and zinnias to transplant. There is lots to do in the garden isn't there- especially this time of the year. Thank you for the sweet Thursday visit. Hugs.
DeleteCute cute cute bunny stitch!!! Now I need to look up the Annabelle hydrangea. My granddaughters name is Annabelle. ๐
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you definitely need to get one since your granddaughter is named Annabelle. There is a town nearby that has Annabelle hydrangeas planted along the town square. The gardens are so pretty come summer time. Thank you for the sweet visit, Penny . Good luck on finding an Annabelle. Hugs.
DeleteJust realized it’s what we call a snowball bush. I’ve always wanted one!!! Now I must get one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute stitchery Miss Flopsey is! Bummer about the paver. Maybe in your travels you will find something that will work. My granddaughters once made some mosaic tiles that were round. . .these have been in my garden for years. I love your wild garden. When I gardened that was my vibe too!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday, Terry. I am definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for the round pavers. I bought those that I have eons ago. What a treasure to have mosaic tiles made by your sweet granddaughters. I bet they bring a warm smile every time you look at them. I have always wanted to try to make something like that with broken plates, but have yet to do that. Maybe someday. Thank you for dropping by . Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.
DeleteLooks like you both got at least some of what you were after. Miss Flopsey is adorable. Very fun for Easter.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I was happy with what we got . We never know what will be available so it is always a treat to visit the community. I am sure we will go back very soon. Have a fabulous weekend, Kate. Hugs.
DeleteHAPPY EASTER Melisa--to you and yours--too bad about the "closed" shop--what a bummer!!
ReplyDeleteMiss Flopsey is so cute -- love that little wheelbarrow in there;))) I wish I could do counted cross stitchery every time I see your patterns...such fun seeing them.
Hugs and lotsa chocolates for you;))), Julierose
Aaaw thank you from the bottom of my heart, Julierose and I wish you the most blessed Easter. It is hard to believe that it is already mid April isn't it? This was the 1st time that we went to the shop and it was closed. I will have to make a note for next year. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteMelisa - I love the new Miss Floppy. Thanks so much. I just finished both Beatrice Bunny designs and started the first Miss Floppy, so the timing is perfect. You are so talented and generous. I used to visit an Amish community with an aunt - your visit brought back special memories. Thanks for sharing. Alicia
ReplyDeleteAaaw I am so happy that this post brought back fond memories with your aunt, Alicia. That warms my heart. I cannot tell you how excited and grateful that I am that you stitched those humble little bunnies. You brought the biggest smile to my day. I hope you enjoyed each and every stitch. Beatrice is one of my favorites. I wish you and your family a very Happy Easter. Hugs.
Deletegood morning sweet Melisa.
ReplyDeletethank you, thank you, thank you for the beautiful photos this morning and the awesome cross stitch projects of Miss Flopsy's Spring Harvest and the previous Miss Flopsy piece. I didn't see Miss Flopsy so i have two new projects to conquer. you're just keeping me tooooo busy, but i love it.
i hope you have a wonderful, blessed day. you are such a beautiful person Melisa. you are so creative and the cross stitch pieces that you make (and bless us with) are amazing.
thank you again Miss Melisa. you are one of a kind. very, very special and i know Mr. Pinker and the family think so, too.
blessings and love are coming your way. a great big hug, too. i hope you felt it.

Aaaw shucks, dear Debra, you are the sweetest! ๐ค❤ And you always lift my spirits sky high, but I have to admit that I am undeserving. Oh it warms my heart that you are going to add Miss Flopsy to your stitching list. I hope you enjoy this little gal. I think I am getting my stitching mojo back ; it has been waning for awhile. Today was a good day- lots of finishing. I hope to work on piecing some quilt blocks tomorrow evening. Fingers crossed. Have a great weekend, sweet friend. Big hugs from the holler.
DeleteSuch pretty plants. We are still having pretty frosty overnights and mornings here, so no planting just yet. Thank you for the sweet little bunny stitch. Perfect companion to the first one. Sorry for both of you for striking out on treats & fabric. I guess we focus on the beautiful drive you got to share.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Ginny. I do hope it begins to warm up soon so you can play in the dirt as well. Have you started planning your garden? We bought some tomato and pepper plants. It was a bummer to miss out on the treats and fabrics but to be honest we did not need either. LOL. But it is always fun to pick up a new piece of fabric when you have the chance. I hope you have a blessed and wonderful weekend. Hugs.
DeleteI just love your sweet bunny designs, Melisa! Thank you so much! And I enjoyed your Wordless Wednesday photos, too--such a beautiful world out there. Wishing you a blessed Easter, my friend! ♥
ReplyDeleteAaaw thank you so much, Carol. I have really enjoyed stitching these little bunnies. To be honest, I am wanting to stitch another, but I am not sure if I can squeeze it in before Easter. I wish you and your family a very Happy Easter. Warm hugs.
DeleteSo sorry you didn't get the sweet treats from the bakery...and the quilt shop. Still, you picked up some nice plants. I'd love to have an Annabelle hyrdrangea! Doesn't new mulch make everything look great? You can play hopscotch on the pavers until you get another one...though, I don't think you need it :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday, Jeanna. We were pleased as punch with the plants we bought. I have already started to plant them. I just love this time of the year . I hope you are able to find an Annabelle of your own. I bought one last year, but want to add to it. Hee! Hee! - Hopscotch! Oh yes that is what it feels like. Thank you for the sweet visit. Happy Easter. Hugs.
DeleteThe Mennonite community looks so interesting to visit - but sorry you and Mr. Pinker missed your favorite spots! Miss Flopsy is so cute! Another one to put on my list. I hope you get some planting done today. We're expecting snow possibly tomorrow, so no planting here in Colorado yet. But soon!
ReplyDeleteBrrr, snow at Easter time ! I hope it does not affect what is blooming already, Diann. The Mennonite community is a wonderful and interesting place to visit. Not only is the landscape pretty , but so are their homes. I wish you a wonderful weekend. Stay warm and cozy ! It will be a great time to quilt.Hugs.

DeleteFun seeing all your local photos, Melisa! You're so much greener than we are here. But we'll catch up! I hope you find some Annabelle Hydrangea. Our hydrangea flower heads were 100% eaten by deer last year!?! That was a first. I hope they make it this year!
ReplyDeleteOh bummer, on your hydrangeas, Nancy. I hope that they come back and the deer leave them alone. I am not sure how to keep deer away from shrubs. Fortunately our deer seem to love the pears that fall in the summer and our lawn- well at least so far. Thank you for the sweet visit. Happy Easter .Hugs.
DeleteThanks for sharing this lovely desing, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Easter!!
Hugs
Aaw you are so welcome, dear Isabel and thank you for taking time to visit me. I wish you a very Happy Easter. Hugs.
DeleteA nice trip out of the house. Too bad Mr. Pinker didn't get his sweet treat! (Now you have to bake! lol). Too bad the quilt shop was closed, but you did come home with some really pretty plants! Cutest Miss Flopsy!
ReplyDeleteLOL you are so right, Astrid. He has already requested a Carrot Cake. I was bummed about the quilt shop , but I am sure I will go back soon. Some of my plants have already made their way into pots, but still more planting to do. Have a fabulous weekend. Hugs.
DeleteDespite the closures it sounds like you had quite a fun adventure! A very blessed Easter wished to you and your family :) (nwpaintedlady)
ReplyDeleteOh we sure did, Sharon. We stopped at a little restaurant and ate as well. We are always up for an adventure whether we get anything or not. Have a blessed and Happy Easter and thank you for stopping by. Hugs.
DeleteLove this new stitch with Miss Flopssy, I'll add it to my to-do list. Thank you for sharing!
