For the fourth year in a row, I am starting November off with my small Rudolph quilt that is still not complete.🦌😳
I know! I know! Some of you are thinking why hasn't she finished it already? Well I am as slow as molasses , but in my defense, there have been a whole lot of squirrels tempting me. 😀

I have to admit that I am bit embarrassed that it has taken so long. I am quilting on the borders so there is the possibility of a 2023 finish . Fingers crossed.
I decorated my daughter's Christmas tree the other day.
Santa is this year's theme. She always has the cutest ornaments.
Speaking of ornaments, I stitched up a new prim ornament this week. It is called "Tree Delivery" . It is another prim Santa ornament similar to last week's ornie , Old World Santa. Santa has his sleigh filled with trees to deliver before his big day. This is a simple and super quick stitch . I stitched mine on 14 count tea/ coffee dyed aida. I went for a thrifty finish just using supplies I had on hand- cardboard, batting, yarn , scrap fabric, and jute cord.
Tree Delivery uses some of the same floss colors as Old World Santa. . There are 8 colors in this piece which include : 221, 730, 782, 610, 407, 898, Blanc, and 3371.

Now onto the plans for the week.
Did I Get'r Done... Well - Last Week's Goals were..
✅🌞1. Add the borders to Father Christmas which is a design by Country Threads. I added a red border so now it is ready for the hoop.
✅🌞2.Work on Hinzeit's November Point. I finished stitching the border and the word "November" .
✅🌞3. Continue quilting on Butterfly Kisses border for at least 15 minutes a day .Eeeh! I finished quilting the border .
I also attached the binding I need to whip stitch it down.
I freehand quilted a fan design along the border.
✅🌞4. Work on November's Monthly Doodle
✅🌞5. Finish Block 1 Snowballs in the Mr. Snow SAL starting on Thursday. Eeeh! Another Snowman embroidery SAL! ✅🌞6. Enjoy the little Spooks who drop by for Halloween! The made out like bandits and received loads of candy.
✅🌞7. Quilt on Shine on Harvest Moon. Worked on the center.
✅🌞8.Take down Halloween and begin putting up Thanksgiving decor.
🎉🥳WOO HOO and Yee Haw!!! 100% of my goals completed. Excuse me while I take a moment to do the happy dance!!!💃💃💃🎉🥳

🌞1. Camping trip.🏕 Mr. Pinker and I will be heading out on a camping trip for the weekend.
🌞2.Work on Hinzeit's November Point.
🌞3. Continue working on Butterfly Kisses binding.
🌞5. Finish Block 2 in the Mr. Snow SAL for Thursday's post.
🌞7. Quilt on Shine on Harvest Moon.

DeleteYour Santas are so cute, both in floss and in fabric! And I love the Rudolph quilt, too. Maybe the Joy is in the process of working on it, but not necessarily in the product, if you know what I mean. Have fun stitching on it again this year!

DeleteMelisa, you did a wonderful job on your daughter's Santa Tree. I don't do trees anymore because all the grands are grown and no great grands appearing anytime soon. :( But I do decorate with small trees and a sleigh and a Santa that is almost 30 years old. Candles with battery operated flames in every window until after the New Year. Lots of sweet Christmas Pillows filling every bowl that I am not using for food!! Love the new Prim Santa. I am so jealous, camping this weekend, enjoy and bring home sweet memories. Sending many hugs from sunny Arizona.

ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad about Rudolph taking so long. Great things take time...or so I tell myself about the projects I have in bins waiting to be finished. You're hand quilting - that takes even more time than machine quilting...and I still seem to take forever to finish things. I did manage to get a photo taken of a quilt top that I finished sometime back. It's been waiting for me to get around to stitching some borders on the pieced backing so that I can put it on the longarm.
Love the Santa tree...but then I am super fond of Santa in general.
